Although Madonna was snubbed by the Academy Awards, she's still proud of her film W.E., which premiered in NYC last night at the Ziegfeld Theater.

The Weinstein Company, along with The Cinema Society and Forevermark, hosted the event, which brought out celebrities like Ewan McGregor, Julia Stiles, Ivanka Trump, Carson Kressley and two of the film's stars, Andrea Riseborough and James D'Arcy.
W.E. tells the story of the romance between American woman Walis Simpson and King Edward VIII, who abdicated the British throne to marry the two-time divorcée.
"I think she was deeply misunderstood by people and I can relate to that," Madonna told ABC of Walis. "I wanted to know why he gave up so much for her and what it must feel like to be loved so much."
