With the recent soap opera cancellations and TV host goodbyes, the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards was bound to be bittersweet for stars and their fans. However the ceremony, airing from Las Vegas, wasn't exactly what many were expecting. When hos, Wayne Brady began the show with a performance alongside the Jabbawockeez dance crew, we were certainly confused.

As for why Cash Cab's Ben Bailey took so long to reach the stage to accept Best Game Show Host, for a second year, turns out he was in the bathroom! Another Emmy mishap was announced three times throughout the ceremony last night: there was a tie! As each winner thanked friends and family, we wondered who ended up taking the Emmy home that night. Certainly Dr. Oz and Regis Philbin didn’t stand much of a chance against one-time soap star Kelly Ripa!

Many were unhappy with the content of the awards show, as plugs to visit the Universal theme park and a Las Vegas inspired number, along with dancing Elvis impersonators, took priority over acceptance speeches. Rushing to finish on time is understandable, but perhaps the Daytime Emmys should have allowed the real stars of the night their moment!
