As we unwind from Thanksgiving 2012 and think of how blessed we are, we wanted to give a shout-out to a few celebs — they have a ton to be thankful for, but make a point of giving others a lot to be thankful for as well! Whether it's for the donation of money or time, we (and countless others) are thanking their lucky stars for these stars!
Awesomely, there are way too many charitable stars to even keep up with these days. This is just a sampling of some celebs and their causes, and we've provided links below so you can find out more about a certain cause if you want to learn more about them.
We hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving!
Meryl Streep: National Women's History Museum
And some more...
Elton John: Elton John AIDS Foundation
Who isn't thankful for George Clooney, right? But while we often bless the man for his acting talent and gorgeousness (and for dating Stacy... we like seeing her outfits), we should remember that he has given others way more important reasons to say thank you. George is a longtime advocate for Darfur refugees, and formed Not on Our Watch with Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Matt Damon and Jerry Weintraub. The foundation's focus is to end genocide in Sudan, and has also donated significant amounts to the World Food Programme. He is also a supporter of Bono's ONE Campaign and is on the Board of Trustees for the United Way.
