Penn Badgley on Scoring Jeff Buckley Part: "Absolutely Devastatingly Awestruck"

While some Robert Pattinson fans might be bummed he won't be playing iconic musician Jeff Buckley in an upcoming biopic, we know someone who is over-the-moon about the casting — the guy who got the role, Penn Badgley!

He told reporters at last night's HTC Serves Up NYC event at Highland Stages in NYC, that considering the fact that lots of other stars tried out, he was thrilled to land the role.

"I was absolutely devastatingly awestruck and ecstatic. It was amazing," he said.

As for whether he wants to pursue music, that is still up in the air.

"I may, I want to. I may or may not actually, just simply it might complicate the whole thing —  the movie is a separate thing [from doing music]. If and when I do ever do that, I don't want it simply to be that I'm playing Jeff right now.

"It's a separate thing, acting and music," he continued. "And in this one project it's connected, but they are two separate things to me, and they've always been separate things. And I've always wanted things I've wanted to pursue. But I will have to be delicate about it."
