Gael Garcia Bernal Infant-icipating a Boy!

Break out the blue baby booties for dad-to-be Gael Garcia Bernal, who is expecting his first child with his Argentine actress girlfriend Dolores Fonzi, 30.

Director Fernando Mereilles let the “it’s a boy” news slip during the premiere of their thriller Blindness held during the Toronto International Film Festival September 6.

The 29-year-old actor tells OK! he felt “happiness” when he first received the life-changing news that he was going to be a dad. “Everyone’s reaction is the same. I’m glad like every father.”

In fact, baby talk is already taking over.

“This is the official premiere of the baby,” he says of the movie. “I feel all right. Everything's good. Life is good.”

Gael Jr. has certainly hit the parental lottery, and Fernando thinks Gael has all the qualities it takes to make a great father.

“He’s a nice guy,” Fernando tells OK! “He's warm — that's all a dad needs to be, right? He's very loving. He has this energy — this love energy. He’s going to be a great father. He’s so excited. He’s really taking time to prepare himself. He’s really looking forward to it.”

Perhaps the little one will inherit the acting gene? Gael and Dolores met on the set of Vidas Privadas in 2001.
