Wedding bells were ringing yesterday for former Star Trek actor George Takei (aka "Mr. Sulu") as he and his boyfriend Brad Altman said their vows in front of almost 200 people in a Buddhist ceremony in L.A., according to Reuters.

Fellow Star Trek crew members from the 1960s show joined the couple in celebrating their marriage including Walter Koenig ("Chekhov") and matron of honor Nichelle Nichols ("Uhura").

George, 71, and his new husband Brad, 54, have been together for over 21 years, and were finally allowed to officially commit to each other after the California Supreme Court struck down the ban on gay marriages last May.

The newlyweds wore matching white tuxedo jackets and shirts, black pants and bow ties during the wedding at the Japanese American National Museum. George's family was among the interned 12,000 Japanese-Americans interned during World War II, and he has long been an avid human rights activis.

Congratulations, George and Brad!
