Foxy Brown will be staying put in a New York jail, for now. The incarcerated singer’s request to go to California for a hearing examination was denied by a New York State Supreme Court judge.
Brown, real name Inga Marchand, has had hearing problems since 2004, when she mysteriously woke up one morning and could no longer hear. She uses a cochlear ear implant to hear, but says that her hearing has suffered since she began serving her sentence. Brown was sentenced to one year in prison after she plead guilty to assaulting two manicurists and violating probation in September 2007.

Prosecutors argued that Brown would be able to get the treatment she needs in New York, while her lawyers said that she needed the help of specialists at California’s House Clinic.
