The bark certainly lived up to the bite: New Moon grossed $26.3 million in Friday midnight screenings, E! News reports. New Moon’s record breaking midnight numbers trump former box office smashes including Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ($22.2 million), which surpassed The Dark Knight ($18.5 million) this summer.
Vatican Says ‘Twilight’ Has a “Deviant Message”
The Vatican is taking a strong stance against the themes in the Twilight Saga, E! News reports. “This film is nothing more than a moral vacuum with a deviant message and as such should be of concern,” warns the Vatican’s culture council leader, Monsignor Franco Perazzolo, in a recent statement.
