It seems that Britney Spears is the unlikely muse for 50 Cent’s new album.
The rapper has told OK! that he was inspired to write Before I Self Destruct by watching the singer’s massive, head-shaving, umbrella-attacking meltdown in 2007.
Now, to you it might have seemed like a tragic tale of damaging relationships, possible drug abuse and mental illness combining to create the spectacular collapse of a mother’s career and private life.
But apparently it’s all just great material for hip hop songs, according to Fiddy.
“She was the greatest show on earth last year,” the rapper, born Curtis Jackson, 33, tells OK!.
“She was going through her issues in public… It was great to watch her spin out of control because it makes the average person feel better.”
Well, we’re sure that makes it all seem worthwhile to Brit!
Justin Timberlake has come a long way from being just another former boybander. In fact, the ‘N Sync alum seems to have quite the golden touch when it comes to making music.
These days the question isn’t who he’s worked with, it’s who he hasn’t collaborated with in some way.
Whether he’s singing along, beatboxing, or just lending his hotness to a music video, Justin has had his hand in a variety of projects.
We’ve assembled a few of our favorite clips of JT’s best collaborations. Check them out below!
Before they got together and subsequently broke up, JT and Britney Spears worked together on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club when they were just pre-teens with a dream.
And while Brit and Madonna may have shared a kiss onstage once upon a time, Madge and Justin shared a hit with "4 Minutes to Save the World."
Another idol in the pop community, Janet Jackson, grabbed everyone’s attention with the help of Justin, who grabbed a piece off her costume in the wardrobe malfunction seen ’round the world.
Beyonce and Rihanna have both benefited from their involvement with JT: Sasha Fierce nabbed him for a performance of "Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing" at 2008 Fashion Rocks, and Rihanna cast him in her steamy video for "Rehab."
Justin works well with guys as well as girls, performing with Timbland and 50 Cent in "Ayo Technology" in this clip.
Just recently, JT was all over the Grammy’s, performing first with Al Green, Keith Urban and Boyz II Men, followed later in the show with a set alongside T.I.
Rapper 50 Cent must be sighing one big sigh of relief – or maybe 50 million of them. A state Supreme Court justice in Manhattan has thrown out the $50 million lawsuit brought against 50 Cent by ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins.
Tompkins had claimed that 50 promised to give her half his earnings for the rest of the life, as well as a home he bought. That home burned down last May while Tompkins was still living there.
A statement from the rapper’s lawyer says "Ms. Tompkins’s claims pertaining to a $50 million verbal contract were entirely frivolous. In dismissing the case before trial, the court is sending a clear message. This is a complete and total victory for 50."
Don’t think 50’s not grateful for getting away with his bank account intact, as he humbly states, "I’m very thankful for this decision. I knew that once the facts were heard that justice would prevail. I hope now that we can put this behind us and move forward with our lives."

It’s nearly 9:30pm and I’m still sitting in the office. I got here prior to 9:30am.
For the last couple of hours I’ve been writing about the "4th Annual OK! Sundance Soiree at the vitaminwater house." It was ultimately our exclusive on 50 Cent’s dinner, party and private concert at a house in Park City. 50 performed for the crowd in the living from from the balcony above. Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy and Chris Rock were really the only ones who were allowed upstairs, but that was ok. I was happy to enjoy the private midnight show next to still-free-from-jail Wesley Snipes, Cuba Gooding Jr., Tom Arnold,Kim and Kourtney Kardashian - and Paris Hilton, who as I think I’ve previously mentioned, spent most her time there in the bathroom.
After listening to 50 Cent’s interview more closely as I transcribed the tape, where he talked about 50 Cent vs. Curtis Jackson (his real name), Britney Spears, sex, Natalie Portman, his new album and film, "Before I Self Destruct" and Cheetah Vision Films, his new production company with partner Randall Emmett (they’ve already got Nic Cage and Mickey Rourke films in the can), I’ve gotta say, I’m pleasantly surprised how intelligent, funny and charming he is.
