Kelly & Mark Owe All Their Children to “All My Children”

March 20th, 2009
Even if he’s a succesful Hollywood actor married to a glamorous musician like Fergie, it’s nice to know Josh Duhamel still stays connected to his roots.
The All My Children alum made a surprise visit to his old stomping ground last week, popping by the show’s set and hanging out for a bit.
"He came by to say hi," a source tells OK! "One of the staff members said ‘Look who stopped by!’ and it was Josh Duhamel."
Apparently Josh was very nice to all around during his time visiting the set. He appeared on the daytime soap between 1999 – 2002.
Cameron Mathison Spreads His Wings
January 15th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff
Cameron Mathison is a man of many trades. He’s on the hit ABC soap All My Children, has wowed audiences on Dancing with the Stars and recently became part of the Good Morning America family as their new correspondent.
OK! caught up with Mathison where he was eager to talk about another interest and good cause — the 5th Annual ABC/Soapnet for Broadway Cares coming up on March 9.
"It’s an organization that obviously raises money for AIDS and grants to help people with AIDS but it does so by taking advantage of the talent pool of Broadway actors," Mathison, who will be hosting the event, tells OK!. "I think it’s a great opportunity."
The event, also headlined by another DWTS alum, Susan Lucci, will feature performances by an array of actors, including General Hospital’s Tony Geary.
"It’s such a way for people, for the actors to show off their talent," Mathison says. "People I act with day in and day out offered to step down on the stage and transform into these Broadway singers and dancers… It’s astounding to me."
The actor recently joined Good Morning America as a correspondent. He tells OK!, "I’m really excited. I’m now officially part of the Good Morning America correspondent team. Obviously I love my gig on All My Children, but it’ll be kind of nice to focus on just these two, not jumping around killing myself."
Mathison adds,"I love my work as an actor but I think it [GMA] is an incredible show. I love the people I work with and I just step into the building and I learn from everyone there. That’s the ulitmate for me."

OK! Exclusive: Cameron Mathison Responds to Thong Rumors
December 8th, 2008
If you look at a recent clip of soap hunk — and former Dancing With the Stars contestant — Cameron Mathison that’s floating around the web, it looks like the All My Children star revealed a little too much information about himself on-air last week.
In the middle of a dramatic scene on the Dec. 3 episode of the long-running sudser, Cameron stands up and flashes what appears to be the skimpy string of some thong undies!
So to get to the truth of the matter, OK! reached out to Cameron himself, who says he understands where people got the idea he’s thonging it, but alas… it just isn’t so.
"I am finding this hysterical," he told OK! about the furor over his undies. "I gotta be honest, it looks exactly like a thong. But I hate to disappoint, it’s only my t-shirt stuck in my underwear."
Cameron joked to OK! that there might be a profitable upside to the whole misunderstanding: "After the hoopla, I am thinking of starting a new line of thongs."

TV Weekly Recap: Reba McEntire, Susan Lucci and the Housewives of NYC!
October 17th, 2008
This week, it was all about style.
At the 15th annual QVC Presents FFANY Shoes on Sale gala at NYC’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel, country star Reba McEntire told me the story of her best friend’s victory over breast cancer.
"She had a mammogram, a sonogram, everything in the world, and they couldn’t find it," Reba shared. "She said I know it’s there because she felt it, and sure enough, it was and they had to do a mastectomy immediately. She’s been cancer free for 10 years now."
Also on hand was fashion fixer Stacy London, who schooled me on what not to wear that night. Bye-bye, inverted pleats!
Catch What Not to Wear Fridays at 9 p.m. on TLC.
Thursday, I was on set with All My Children diva and Dancing with the Stars contender Susan Lucci. She and the cast were celebrating the taping of the soap opera’s 10,000th episode.
"It’s such an enormous number, it’s just mind-boggling," she cooed.
Susan, dressed in a killer blue, cinched duster coat, told me the storyline she’d like to see her Pine Valley counterpart tackle next.
"I think Erica needs to learn how to dance," said Susan. "We saw that handsome dark stranger in the background, and we know that Tony Dovolani is doing a guest appearance. So who is that handsome man on crutches, and doesn’t he turn out to be the new dance teacher at the yacht club?"
Nice plug for your DWTS professional partner, Susan! Look for Tony’s AMC debut the week of Oct. 27.
Later that evening, I went to Morocco with the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Or so it felt like it, as Club Sol was transformed into an exotic African-themed haven.
Bethenny Frankel hosted "Moroccan Style," a fashion show featuring outfits from the country’s brightest designers.
Who did I spot tearing up the runway? Make Me a Supermodel winner Holly Kiser and America’s Next Top Model cycle 10 finalist Fatima Siad. Yep people, there is work after reality TV!
Now, if the Housewives cast wants to take me along on a real trip to the country, I’m so ready to pack my bags.
Until next week, fellow fanatics!
Susan Lucci: Not Even Close to Retiring
October 16th, 2008
Susan Lucci is shooting the 10,000 episode of All My Children today, and the soap opera vixen, 61, who joined the show as Erica Kane in episode 10 in 1970 and is now competing on Dancing with the Stars, tells OK! she’s nowhere close to retiring from her iconic role.
“I don’t see a time. This character is fantastic and the American public seems to embrace her and it makes me so happy,” she tells OK!.
The 10,000th show, which will air in November on ABC, is giving Susan the chance to “look back on some of the happy times." Some of her favorite scenes, she says, were the ones that had Erica working as a model in New York City in the 1980s shot at Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
"All of that comes back to me," she reminisces. "That was so much fun!”
Meanwhile, Susan delivered her best DWTS performance this week as her Argentine tango with partner Tony Dovolani reminded fans of her dramatic soap opera scenes. Next week, it’s expected Susan will perform the 1970s dance the hustle. How appropriate!
Cameron Mathison Rooting for Susan Lucci
September 30th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
Considering the fact that Cameron Mathison has been a part of the All My Children cast since 1998, who he’s rooting for on this season’s Dancing With the Stars should come as no surprise.
"Susan Lucci," he says when OK! asked who wants to win the reality TV competition at the Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition Blu-Ray and DVD release this weekend in NYC.
"We worked together on All My Children, and I think she’s an incredible woman," he adds. "She’s an important person in my life, and my friendship with her and her family. I’m behind her all the way."
As for which Disney character he relates to, the family man says his choice is a little hard to admit.
"This is going to be a bit embarrassing, but my son tells me I’m like Gaston," he tells OK!. "I don’t even ask why it is. I think he’s ridiculous, and I hope my wife doesn’t agree that I’m like Gaston, but I’ve always found him really funny and completely out of his mind. I’m a big goofball, so sometimes I’ll go over the top like that."
However it sounds to us like Cameron’s wife would see him as more of a Prince Charming.
"I just wrote a series of gratitude cards and left them for her around the house," he shares with OK!. "Things that I’m grateful to her for. Simple things, but a little bit more personal. It’s saying ‘thank you for all these things, and I feel so many of them.’ I wrote several cards and left them around where she’d find them so she’d know how many ways that I’m grateful."
Everybody togther now: Aww!
On the Set: All My Children
February 15th, 2008 / Author: cwillett
When I got the offer to play a reporter during Fashion Week on All My Children I immediately accepted. How could I not?
So a couple weeks later, there I was in a dressing room ready for my close-up. After catching up with the other real fake reporters, I made my way to hair and makeup. I wanted a fierce TV look— lots of hair and lots of makeup. Well, I got that. My fabulous updo and sweeping eye makeup would make even my scene partner, the great Susan Lucci, jealous! Yes, I got to act in a scene with Susan Lucci.
Soon, I made my way onto the sound stage where I caught up with Cameron Mathison and Alicia Minshew. I roll with soap stars, you didn’t know that? What I didn’t roll with is the amount of time that is spent just sitting around and waiting. My call time was at 5 pm and I didn’t actually shoot my scene until 9 or 9:30 p.m. Luckily, they fed me dinner.
Post dinner, I stood there, lights in my face, ready for action to be called reciting my lines in my head over and over again. I was trying not to get distracted by a chit chatty Susan Lucci (who knew the woman that plays Erica Kane is so nice in person?).
Action! And there I was, method acting my way into All My Children. It was quite a delightful experience (even if I did forget my line and improvised). But, you’ll have to watch it to see if I did well!
Hey ABC, if you ever need me to play myself again, feel free to give me a call! To see me in action, watch All My Children on Monday, Feb. 18.
