"It was identical to how Tom used to stand with Katie when she was pregnant with Suri," an eyewitness tells OK!. "And the way they looked at each other! You could see the love in their eyes and there was a feeling that they were sharing something very special at that moment."

Although Katie’s rep tells OK! she’s not expecting, everyone who knows the pair believes that if she’s not already pregnant, she will be soon.

"Tom would love to have another baby!" a friend of the actor tells OK!. "There’s nothing that gives him more pleasure than his role as a father."

And, according to a Valkyrie set insider, the couple would be ecstatic if their second baby turned out to be another girl! "Suri has been such a joy for Tom," the insider says. "As far as he’s concerned, he’d be happy to have another girl. Katie feels the same."

Katie Catches a Plane to Tom’s Side

January 12th, 2009

Although Katie Holmes couldn’t be with her hubby Tom Cruise at last night’s Golden Globes (he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Tropic Thunder), she made sure she at least caught the after-party!

As soon as the final curtain call for her Broadway show All My Sons was over, Katie grabbed a flight to L.A. to be by her man’s side for the swanky CAA party at the Sunset Tower Hotel, E! News reports.

Katie arrived at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre before the play with her car already loaded up with bags and the things that her daughter Suri needs for traveling.

Then, as soon as the house lights went up, Katie quickly said her goodbyes to her castmates and just 30 minutes or so after her final scene, she left the stage door for the last time.

Katie and Suri were whisked away to a helicopter waiting by New York’s West Side Highway to take her to a private jet at Teterboro airport in New Jersey, arriving shortly after 6pm.

Katie didn’t miss out on celebrations after the last night. Instead the cast and had a dinner together at a restaurant the night before their final performance.

So while many of the other people in her play went home, Katie joined other celebs at the star-studded L.A. bash included Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Colin Farrell, Tom Hanks, Leo DiCaprio, and Eva Longoria Parker, just to name a few.

Now that Kate’s turn on Broadway is over, E! reports that she and daughter Suri will be by Tom’s side for his international promotional tour for Valkyrie.

Just another happy, jet-setting, super famous family!

Katie’s Co-stars Miss Her Already!

January 12th, 2009

As Katie Holmes disappeared into the night sky after her final performance in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons yesterday, her co-stars told OK! they’re going to miss her company — and her talent.

And it sounds like the feeling is mutual! When she made her way out of the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for the final time with daughter Suri in her arms, OK! asked Katie if she had loved being a Broadway star.

Looking like she was still on a high from a standing ovation from a packed house, Katie beamed, "Yes!"

3rd Rock from the Sun’s John Lithgow who has starred opposite Katie as Joe Keller, since the show opened in September, told OK!, "We’ll all miss Katie. Everybody adores her — any of us will tell you that."

Meanwhile, Dexter actor Christian Camargo, who played Katie’s character’s brother, George Deever, said that he had loved getting to know her — and her superstar husband!

"She was amazing to work with — the integrity, the work ethic," he told OK!.

"I can’t wait to work with her again."

"Tom was our number one fan," he added. "He came and saw the show 25 times!"

Christian told us that after an emotional farewell after the curtain fell on the five-month stint, the close cast had given the Dawson’s Creek star gifts to remind her of her first major theater run.

"Mainly sentimental things," he explained, "like pictures of her experience, scrapbooks - all stuff to symbolize her debut on Broadway."

Theater veteran Damian Young, who put in a comic turn as a neighborhood doctor, told us he had been impressed with the first-timer as well.

"She was courageous; would try anything," he said. "We had a crazy rehearsal process with all these games and excercises, and she — like everyone else — dove right in. I’ll miss her."

Over the past couple of weeks, theater-loving celebs have rushed to catch their last chance to see the show.

Sex and the City
star Sarah Jessica Parker went on Friday Jan 9, and Broadway veteran Nathan Lane took in the penultimate performance on Saturday Jan 10.

Leo DiCaprio, Susan Sarandon and her husband Tim Robbins have all caught All My Sons in recent weeks, too.

Tom Cruise: Katie-Less at Golden Globes

December 19th, 2008

Talk about being double-booked: Tom Cruise has a big night on Jan. 11, as he’s nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes for his bit part in Tropic Thunder, but meanwhile, his wife and almost constant companion Katie Holmes has her last performance of All My Sons on Broadway that same night.

What’s a TomKat couple to do?

Katie’s decided to stay and her do last show,” Ina Treciokas, Katie’s rep tells FOX411. “She won’t be going with Tom to the Globes. The cast of All My Sons has been like a family and they want to end it together.”

So while Tom is flashing that big grin on the red carpet, Katie will be taking her final Broadway bow, at least for now. That leaves the question of who Tom will bring as a date. Maybe his mom, or a friend… but our vote is for Suri!

Katie Holmes: “I Was Always Trying to Get to the Theater”

December 4th, 2008

In this Sunday’s issue of The New York Times Style Magazine, Katie Holmes lets it all hang out–from the case of nerves she just couldn’t shake when she made her Broadway debut this fall, to why she thinks NYC needs to build more underground parking garages.

"In New York, there isn’t the underground parking and you can’t really sneak in anywhere like you can in L.A.," Holmes, 29, tells the mag. "But try to see New York through Suri’s eyes. She goes to music class and for walks in Central Park. We took her to Chelsea Piers for gymnastics and there were so many people that Tom decided to take over an apartment in our building and turn it into a gym for her. He had mats put on the floor and brought in an artist to paint animals on the walls. The teacher can come to Suri’s gym now."

Seems like a lot of trouble to go to just to avoid the paparazzi. But since the Cruises moved to NYC for Katie’s Broadway debut in All My Sons, the daily photos showing Katie heading to work (often holding daughter Suri, covering her eyes from the camera flashes) makes their efforts a bit more understandable.

Now, Holmes says she’s finally doing what she’s wanted to do for years. "I was always trying to get to the theater. But then I met Tom and since then we’ve been all over the world," she says.

But while she may be achieving her dreams, Katie admits she was scared to death during the first week of All My Sons.

"I know everything that’s been written and said," she says. "I didn’t want people–especially my fellow castmates–to think that I was just cast for name recognition. I wanted the rest of the cast to know that I am serious. There’s a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn’t have any control over her life. That I just became a wife. And that’s pretty wrong."

And yet, Katie says she doesn’t like to read what’s out there about herself or her family.

"I don’t go online. I don’t read about myself. I can’t. I know that if something really horrible happens, someone will tell me about it. I would get too upset and overwhelmed if I read or looked at what’s out there. And I have too much to do. I’m a mom and an actress with a play to do every night. I can’t pay attention to all that noise."

Posh & Becks Hit NYC With TomKat

November 26th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

It’s no surprise to see celebrities in the audience of Katie Holmes current Broadway hit, All My Sons, but the star-power inside the Schoenfeld Theatre on Wednesday afternoon went into overload when the actress’ hubby Tom Cruise was joined by good pals David Beckham and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham.

For some audience members, it was hard to keep their eyes on the stage with these three superstars in the crowd.

"Tom clapped really loud and laughed when Katie came on stage," Hillary Hamm from Oklahoma, who sat in front of the Valkyrie star and his guests, told OK! after the show. "They were really into the play. Right at intermission they darted out so no one could come up to them. A lot of people didn’t notice they were here until intermission."

By the end of the show, everyone in the theater knew about the trio of celebrities in the fifth row. "When we found out who was here, everyone was like ‘Oh my gosh,’" a second audience member, Hayley Pearson, told OK!. "They were near the front and all their bodyguards were around then. David was on the aisle."

Even the star of the show had to acknowledge her VIP fans. "When Katie came out and took a bow, Tom and the Beckhams were the first ones to stand and clap," Hillary continues. "Tom waved to the row we were in. When Katie came out at the end she looked at Tom and smiled at him from the stage. It was really cute."

For Hayley, it was a once-in a lifetime experience: "I thought the play was phenomenal. It’s my first time here and I guess New York didn’t dissapoint."

Following the show, David and Victoria each gave their own, glowing reviews of the play. "It was good!" said the soccer stud as he exited the theater. And Posh told OK!, "It was fabulous!"

After hanging out backstage, and then reconvening at the East Village townhouse Katie’s been residing in during her Big Apple stay, the two couples changed outfits and all their kids headed off to a big family dinner at Il Cantinori on E. 10 St.

Tom & Katie’s Big Date

November 11th, 2008

Katie Holmes will be hard at work on her second anniversary, but she won’t be alone–on Nov. 18, proud husband Tom Cruise is expected to be front and center in the audience of Katie’s Broadway hit All My Sons.

"Don’t be surprised if he presents her with a huge bouquet of roses as the cast takes their bows," a friend of Tom’s tells OK!. "And her dressing room will look like a florist shop!"

Katie, 29, and Tom, 46, exchanged vows in 2006 at Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy, surrounded by family and celebrity friends. Because of Katie’s schedule this year, the couple’s celebration will be relatively low-key, with a late-afternoon lunch spent most likely with their daughter Suri, 2, before the actress rushes off to the theater.

In the meantime, an unlikely ally–Nicole Kidman–says she’d love to see Katie have more kids. Tom’s ex tells the new issue of Glamour Magazine that adopted son Connor is longing for a kid brother. According to Nicole, the 13-year-old, "would like one of us to have a boy." She adds, "He wants that boy…Katie?"

Katie & Suri’s Pizza Party

November 4th, 2008

While most of the country spends Tuesday night glued to their TVs, waiting  to hear the results of the presidential election, it was life as usual for Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise.

On Tuesday afternoon, our eyewitness spotted Katie, wearing all black and Suri, sporting a striped tee and clutching her blanket, catching up on some important mother-daughter bonding time.

Despite having to be at the theater for her performance in All My Sons at 7 p.m., Katie seemed relaxed and interested only in spending time with her daughter when, just after 5 p.m., she took Suri for a walk up and down the block outside their East Village apartment.

The witness tells OK! that Mrs. Cruise whispered sweetly to her 2-year-old daughter, asking her, "do you want to get some pizza?"

"Suri was leading Katie and being very playful, going back and forth, pulling her mommy’s hand," the eyewitness tells OK!. "Suri was in a very happy mood. She even laughed and smiled at the paparazzi."

As a car followed close behind, mom and daughter ambled up 4th avenue to Pizza Place Pie in the Union Square area, where Katie ordered Suri a slice of tomato mozzerella, holding her on her lap while the 2-year-old ate, bouncing happily up and down on Katie’s legs.

Then it was off to the theater! Katie and Suri dashed home with just enough time for the actress to make it to her show.

An eyewitness tells OK!, "They had been inside the entire day and this was their first day out. It was a very cute mother-daughter dinner date."

Wild Scene Outside Katie’s Broadway Premiere

October 17th, 2008

Once again, it was a mob scene outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on Manhattan’s 45th Street Thursday night, as protesters, police and paparazzi gathered for the official opening night of All My Sons, the Arthur Miller play starring Katie Holmes in her first Broadway role.

The actress was able to slip into to the theater around 4:40, several hours before the play — and all the associated hubbub — started. According to show insiders, hubby Tom Cruise was able to slip unnoticed past the anti-Scientology protesters two hours later.

Unlike the first night of previews for the show in September, which drew an angry mob directly outside the theater, the 50 or so anti-Scientologist picketers at Thursday’s show — most from a group known as "Anonymous" — were quarantined down the block from the venue.

Most protesters wore masks, some dressed as the lead rebel character from the 2007 movie V For Vendetta; one activist was even dressed up as Joe Jonas. They carried signs with slogans like “Save Katie and Suri – keep Tom,” “Religion is free – Scientology is not,” “Katie, What Has Scientology Cost You?” and chanted harsh words like, “Scientology Kills.”

The folks from Anonymous were offset by a throng of fans across the street who cheered their support for Katie and her family.

After the production started, the protesters were told there would be no more loud chanting permitted and the group dispersed for the evening.

Reverend John Carmichael, who is the President of the Church of Scientology in New York, attempted to undo the damage done by the protesters by claiming that Anonymous made threats of violence. He also alleged that a group member was responsible for a school shooting in Finland in November 2007.

After the show, Katie exited the theater around 9:45 and signed autographs for three minutes before heading to the cast afterparty.

"It was wonderful," Katie said following her opening night experience. "I’m just glad to be a part of it."

The former Dawson’s Creek star’s castmates also had kind words to say about the superstar.

"It’s really a pleasure," said All My Sons co-star Danielle Ferland. "She respects people. She’s one of the best people. Katie’s very generous… I think she’s a pro. She hasn’t done a lot of theater, and she’s amazing. It’s unbelievable."
