Amy Sedaris Beautifies with Cherry Popsicles

March 29th, 2008

Amy Sedaris celebrates her 47th birthday today.

What’s her best beauty tip?

“I keep a cherry popsicle in my freezer,” the actress tells me. “If you put that on your lips first and then put your lipstick on, it’ll stain them so when your lipstick wears off, your mouth’s got color on it.” She also swears by “those red dental pills where you chew them and they get rid of plaque.”

In her most recent film, Snow Angels, she worked with Kate Beckinsale.

Kate was great,” Amy tells me. “I remember there’s a scene in the movie where there’s a time clock and she had to punch in. She had never punched in before! And her daughter Lily was on set a lot. She’s adorable. Her tooth was falling out, and it was really cute to see a little kid with her tooth still hanging off. As a mom, Kate is really playful and attentive.”

‘Snow Angels’ Stars Give Getting-Out-of-Love Advice

March 6th, 2008 / Author: Valerie Nome

Kate Beckinsale stars as a woman trying to flee from her crazy ex in Snow Angels, which is in theaters Friday. Amy Sedaris and Olivia Thirlby also experience the gritty side of love in the drama.

“If my best friend had an affair with my husband, I don’t know how I’d deal with it,” Amy tells me. “So many things would factor in. I’d be like ‘isn’t he fat? Or is it my imagination and he wasn’t as fat as I thought he was?’”

How would she ditch a dangerous relationship?

“Just not getting into it in the first place,” she says. “I know I have poor judgment in relationships, therefore I’m not even open to seeing anybody because that part of me’s not going to change.”

Olivia, who also played Ellen Page’s best friend in Juno, would leave — pronto — before it’s too late.

“Break up with him. It’s pretty simple. Don’t put up with someone who doesn’t treat you right. Everybody deserves the best. It’s easier to jump ship than to stick it out.”

MOVIEGOER GIVES ATTITUDE TO ‘EAT CHEESE’ WITH SARA SILVERMAN

August 31st, 2007

Somebody got a smackdown during an advanced junket screening for I Want Someone To Eat Cheese With (out September 7). It was insane! Mind you, the theater seats about twenty people. These two older, established women were sitting front and center ready to enjoy the romantic comedy starring Sara Silverman, Bonnie Hunt, Elle Fanning and Amy Sedaris when a free-spirited newbie floats in and asks them to move so she and her friend could have better seats. Nobody wants to sit in the corner, right? WHOA. Luckily, all hell did not break loose and junketeers got a few chuckles.
