Amy Winehouse: I’m Not Guilty!

March 17th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Amy Winehouse might be guilty of many things, but the troubled singer says she didn’t assault a woman in London last year, in a case that’s keeping her from obtaining a U.S. visa.

The "Rehab" star pleaded not guilty to a charge of common assault at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, the Press Association reports. A woman named Sherene Flash says Amy assaulted her after the Berkeley Ball in September.

However Amy’s chance of getting to perform in the U.S. are slim, as the case has been adjourned until July 23.

Amy Winehouse Inches Closer to U.S.

March 16th, 2009

American Amy Winehouse fans won’t have a chance to see her at next month’s Coachella festival, as she’s been banned from performing in the U.S., but she’s getting closer – the troubled singer will be a part of the 18th Annual St. Lucia Jazz festival in May.

Amy was denied the work visa in early March, in an experience that unfortunately isn’t new to her. She was also denied entry into the U.S. last year before the Grammys and ended up appearing live via telecast.

St. Lucia seems to be a new favorite for the "Rehab" singer, as she spent a few months there on an extended vacation, ostensibly recovering from her various health issues.

Winehouse in Legal Smackdown

March 6th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Maybe now that her sorta-hubby Blake Fielder-Civil is no longer incarcerated, it’s time for Amy Winehouse to be behind bars?

The British singer, who recently returned home to London following a two-month holiday in St. Lucia, was charged with common assault yesterday over an alleged incident during the End Of Summer ball in London’s Berkeley Square last September.

A spokesman for Winehouse said: “Amy voluntarily attended a police station in London yesterday morning. She was questioned by appointment in relation to an accusation made after the Berkeley Ball last year. She was charged with common assault and will attend a court hearing in the coming weeks.”

The victim apparently asked for a photograph with Amy at the event and claims the singer refused and then hit her.

Amy will appear in court on March 17.

Watch Out, England — Amy’s Back

March 2nd, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Well, it was good while it lasted.

For two months, Amy Winehouse seemed to be getting her act together while on vacation in wonderful and warm St. Lucia. But now the scourge of the London streets has returned home — and who knows if she’ll get back up to her headline-making hijinks.

For both of their sakes, let’s hope that Amy’s return has nothing to do with the recent release of her incarcerated hubby Blake Fielder-Civil from a UK jail.

But, at least according to a story in The Daily Mail, Blake’s still moving ahead with his plans on divorcing his Grammy-winning gal.

"He feels very let down by his wife and he’s proceeding with a divorce," the paper quotes Georgette Civil as saying. "Amy has behaved like a trollop. Since his release there has been no contact… Blake realised the marriage was doomed some time ago and I don’t believe Amy will get round him now."

The Future Looks Blake For Amy

February 26th, 2009

Oh Amy — say it ain’t so!

Those of us hoping to see Amy Winehouse get her life back together had a lot to be optimistic about recently.

The singer had been taking a long vacation in the Caribbean, was looking healthy (and clean!) and was said to be beating her longstanding addictions to crack and heroin.

And best of all she seemed to have left her jailbird husband Blake Fielder Civil behind and found herself a handsome, clean cut guy.

But a terrible report from the UK today says that the Rehab star is heading back home to try and save her dead loss of a marriage now that Blake is out of prison.

Blake Formerly Incarcerated had filed divorce papers in January, claiming Amy was cheating on him while he was doing time.

But yesterday Blake was insisting that they are giving it another shot, according to Britain’s TheSun.co.uk.

“Hearing Blake was out brought lots of emotions back for Amy," the site quotes a friend of the singer as saying.

“She feels like she was the last to know he was getting released and that hurt. She is desperate to see him again and wants to work things out. She still loves him.”

Blake No-Longer Incarcerated

February 25th, 2009

Amy Winehouse’s soon-to-be ex bloke Blake, is out of the nick, as they say in England.

Her estranged husband, Blake Fielder-Civil — who was accidentally dubbed Blake Incarcerated by Amy in her Grammy speech — walked free from Edmunds Hill Prison in the south of England on Feb 25, according to TheSun.co.uk.

The singer rarely gave a performance during his 27 month jail term without giving a rambling tribute to her Blaaaake — even sporting a heart in her famous beehive with his name stitched onto it for most of that time.

But the pair split in November while he was inside for assaulting the owner of a bar and attempting to pervert the course of justice by trying to pay him off.

He filed divorce papers in January claiming that she’d cheated on him.

Blake was met at the prison gates by his mother Georgette and the pair were driven away in a silver BMW.

He was allowed to leave the prison in November to go to rehab, but was put back behind bars for failing a drug test.

Meanwhile, Amy has recently been sunning herself in the Carribean with a new guy — and is reported to be looking for a house in the Islands.

Amy Winehouse Looking for Caribbean Crib

February 19th, 2009

The Caribbean island of St. Lucia seems to have been doing wonders for Amy Winehouse. As the troubled British singer continues her recovery from her heroin and crack cocaine addictions, she has reportedly fallen so in love with the island that she’s now looking to put down roots there.

According to Britain’s The Sun, Winehouse, 25, has been househunting with her dad, Mitch Winehouse. The Rehab singer still has her new home in the North London suburb of Hadley Wood, but now intends to split her time between the two.

A pal of the singer tells The Sun, "Mitch and Amy have been looking at property while he has been in St. Lucia. They saw a few potential places this weekend."

The friend adds, "Amy loves it over there and being away from it all has helped her hugely in the fight against drugs."

Amid rumors that the singer is still partying it up in the Caribbean, the source says, "She has been drinking and smoking cannabis, but is still a million times better than she was in Camden. Her family thinks the best way to keep her out of trouble is to have a house in the suburbs and a place in the Caribbean where she can totally get away."

Amy has been living and recovering on St. Lucia since late last year.

Amy Winehouse’s Home Burglarized

January 30th, 2009

Thieves have broken into Amy Winehouse’s apartment in London, where they reportedly made off with several sentimental items belonging to the recovering rocker.

The Sun is reporting that burglars kicked in the padlocked front door and ransacked Amy’s home in Camden, North London, stealing her flat screen TV, five guitars and digital recording equipment. Police were called but the thieves had escaped by the time officers arrived.

Some of the items were recovered but Amy is said to be devastated. The Rehab singer, 23, has been staying on the island of St. Lucia in an attempt to recover from her drug addiction. She was set to fly home this weekend.

"Amy is devastated. Some of the guitars are irreplaceable due to their sentimental value," a source tells the paper. "The flat is in a real state. It had been cleaned up in preparation for her return. Now she will have to start from scratch to replace what has been stolen."

So far, no arrests have been made.

Amy Winehouse Saves Woman from Drowning

January 21st, 2009

While recovering from drug addiction on St. Lucia, Amy Winehouse has managed to save a drowning woman from a fate worse than death. Ok, just death.

According to The Sun, the Brit singer was on a beach in St. Lucia when she spotted Louise Williams being hurled out of a boat during a sailing lesson.

"A six-foot wave caught the boat and I went flying and hit a rock," Williams said. "Amy was on the beach 20 meters away and she ran across immediately and said, ‘Let’s have a look at you.’"

Williams says she would have been swept away by the tide if Winehouse hadn’t come to her assistance.

"I was bowled over by her kindness. She went out of her way to help me…It shows there’s another side to her."

When asked about the incident, Winehouse said, "I thought she was going to drown."

Report: Amy Winehouse’s Husband Wants Divorce

January 12th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

And you all thought the romance between human train-wrecks Amy Winehouse and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil would last forever…

Alas, according to reports out of the UK, it looks like the end is in sight for this marriage, which has been marked by drugs, booze and jailtime.

The Daily Mail newspaper claims that Blake has instructed lawyer Henri Brandman to begin divorce proceedings against the "Rehab" singer after being faced with recent pics of his wife frolicking — often topless — on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia with another fella, Josh Bowman.

The report also states that it is likely Blake will attempt to get half of Amy’s many millions.

Amy and Blake were wed in Florida in a quicky ceremony in May 2007 — and it’s been pretty much downhill since then. Blake is currently incarcerated on charges stemming from an assault.
