Gwyneth Paltrow’s Guide To Life

March 9th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Gwyneth Paltrow admits she always misses her kids Apple, 4, and Moses, 2, and wonders what they’re doing when she’s away working, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“It is also nice to acknowledge that I am a woman, I’m an artist, I work and it’s part of who I am,” says the actress, 37, who has Iron Man 2 and King Lear in the works.

“Motherhood has changed me in every way. It changed everything from my DNA on up. My perspective is so much different and the way I spend my day is different.”

What are her rules?

“I always try to instill that they’re very lucky and most children don’t get the things that they get.  To be mindful and hopefully it will stick with them.”

When Gwyneth takes time out for herself, she indulges with acupuncture and massage.

She also likes to spend time in the kitchen whipping up smoothies for friends like Mario Batali, who can’t get enough of her “fun” GOOP blog. What are her diet secrets?

He tells me, “She literally works out three hours a day. She is a machine. And she eats like a long-haul truck driver. I’ve seen her put away more food than I put away at a sitting. She likes to eat everything but meat. She eats no meat, no processed animals or birds. She loves fish, she loves vegetables, she loves pasta. She’s a great eater.”

For nights out, grandma Blythe Danner chips in to help out whenever she’s needed, such as when Gwyneth’s hubby Chris Martin is on the road with Coldplay. (This week they’re in Australia.)

What’s the best part of being a grandma?

“Being told how much you’re missed,” Blythe tells me. “I love that.”

She adds, “Gwyneth is brilliant. She’s an extraordinary mother. She’s wonderful. I’m very proud of her.”

Ashton’s Night Off

November 6th, 2008

Ashton Kutcher seems to be glued to his wife Demi Moore’s side wherever he goes these days, but it seems the happily married Dude, Where’s My Car? actor has had some time to live it up with his boys like he used to.

An eyewitness tells OK! Ashton had a guys’ night with some pals, including fellow That ’70s Show alum, Wilmer Valderrrama, Tuesday night at L.A.’s new hotspot Apple.

"Ashton was mingling with his friends at his booth," says the fellow partygoer. "I see Wilmer out all the time at parties with girls and drinks, but I haven’t seen Ashton out in forever."

And although the former partyboy had fun without his better half around, drinking Patron with his buddies, he seemed ready to get back to his wife before long.

"He was having a really good time but he went home earlier than all his friends, around midnight," the source tells OK!.

Gwyneth Calls Breakup Rumors “Ridiculous”

April 9th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Once and for all, Gwyneth Paltrow’s marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is just fine!

"Having a family has made me feel whole," the 35-year-old mother of two tells the May issue of British Glamour. "I used to be always searching and always lonely. I never feel like that anymore."

The Oscar winner’s five-year marriage to Martin, 31, has been rumored to be a troubled one, primarily because the two go to such extremes not to be seen or photographed publically together. But Gwyneth assures us there’s a method to their madness.

"You will never see us out publically," she says. "We just don’t want to be one of those couples."

She adds, "It evolved that way," and admits that she has been known to let her guard down at times, much to the anger of her husband. "He gets furious if I say something about him."

Referring to a recent incident where she declined to reveal her husband’s whereabouts to the press, she recalls: "They were like, ‘You’re breaking up.’ … Ridiculous."

While she remains strictly mum on her marriage, Gwyneth is happy to gush over the couple’s two adorable children, Apple, (who turns four in May) and Moses, 2.

"Apple is an open person," she says of her daughter. "She’s a Taurus; grounded, calm, funny." Moses is an Aries, he’s the most sweet, sensitive thing but then he’ll kick and karate-chop and spit and tumble. He’s a real boy."

Gwyneth Named Children’s Ambassador

March 24th, 2008

Gwyneth Paltrow, who recently announced she’s "putting movies on the backburner" to spend more time at home with her family, is putting her free time to good use.

The Shakespeare in Love star has been named ambassador for the Save The Children charity. Over the next three years, she will play an active role in helping to reduce the number of kids dying from preventable diseases around the world.

The notoriously private Gwyneth, who has two children, Apple, 3, and Moses, 1 1/2, with husband Chris Martin, has spoken publically about wanting to put her film career on hold in order to focus more on her family in the future.

Before she can do that, however, the actress will embark on a large-scale promotional tour for Iron Man, the highly anticipated film based on the Marvel Comics character. Paltrow also stars in Two Lovers with Joaquin Phoenix, also set for release later this year.
