Will Arnett “Really Excited” for Fatherhood

May 30th, 2008

His wife has already been a Baby Mama on-screen, and now Will Arnett is definitely looking forward to becoming a baby daddy.

"I’m really excited about becoming a father," the funnyman tells OK! of the bundle of joy he’s expecting with Amy Poehler later this year.

The 37-year-old, who’s currently shooting the comedy When in Rome, still has a few more months to prepare for the baby’s fall arrival — and hopefully not arrest its development!

When asked if he’d learned anything about parenting from his years in the dysfunctional Bluth family on the underappreciated Arrested Development, the actor replied, "I sure hope not!"

The baby will be the first for Will and Amy, 36, who’ve been married since 2003. Amy, for her part, has already been thinking of names.

"I’m just going to name my kids numbers," she’s joked. "New Dude, Little Dude, Old Dude, and Eight: George Foreman."

Judah Friedlander: “Tina Fey Is Hardworking!”

April 29th, 2008

OK! caught up with Tina Fey’s 30 Rock co-star, Judah Friedlander, at her film’s, Baby Mama, premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. The goofy looking and endearing comedian admitted that he can’t imagine how Tina balances being a mom, working on a TV show and making movies. And, because of it, he seems to genuinely admire her.

What brings you out?
Tina’s my boss, so I figured I’d better show up.

What surprised you about Tina?
She’s really cool. She’s so mellow and laidback. She’s doing a million things at once and it doesn’t bother her somehow. It doesn’t show.

Does she ever bring her daughter to the set?
Yeah, once in awhile. Her kid’s a cutie. Hilarious, cute, great kid. Tina’s great. She does a million things. I don’t know how she gets any of them done, but she does it all great. It’s a pleasure and an honor to work for her.

Any cute stories about Alice?

Not really. It’s such a beautiful, cute kid. I don’t see them that often. I’ve never like played with her or anything. I just see her sometimes. They’re great. Couldn’t be nicer.

What’s Tina like with her husband?
They’re great. Jeff is the coolest dude and brilliant musician. You could have an idea for a sketch and he’ll think up lyrics and a tune that fits perfectly with it in minutes. The guy’s brilliant. His music is so integral to 30 Rock. It really enriches the show. He did the music for this, too.

You’d say they’re hardworking?
Oh yeah, and they’re both great. What’s also cool about them is they’re not just good at what they do, but they’re very approachable too. They’re great.

What are your Memorial Day plans?
I’m going to be in Canada doing standup comedy shows in Edmonton. I’ll be at the Comic Strip in Edmonton.

Maura Tierney Wants Abby Killed Off on ER

April 17th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

If Maura Tierney had her way, Abby Lockhart will be dead by the time ER ends next year.

"I want them to kill me," she tells AOL. "And they won’t. They refused to kill Abby."

It’s easy to see why.

Since Maura joined the show eight years ago, she’s grown into a fan favorite and the medical drama’s default female lead, working with dramatic story arcs that saw her go from nurse to doctor, deal with alcoholism and romancing Noah Wyle and Goran Visnjic.

But after nearly 10 years, the 43-year-old, who earned an Emmy nomination in 2001 for her work, is ready to check out of the ER for good. The show will return for a 15th and final season next year.

"I’ve been on the show for a long time," she says. "I had a really great time there, but ti’s been almost a decade, and part of me is ready to move on, but part of me is going to be very sad about it."

Having a year to prepare for the impending finale is an advantage though.

"I think it’s a great thing for the cast and the crew," the actress says. "And I think it’s a great thing that [producer] John Wells and all the rest of the writers know that it’s ending and have time to prepare for it and finish it in a way that’s thoughtful."

Maura, who says to expect more drama from her relationship with Luka (Visnjic) for the remainder of the season, most likely won’t jump into another series afterwards — if only because nothing would compare to her ER experience.

"I feel the same way I felt when NewsRadio ended, which is that I didn’t want to do another sitcom right away, because I loved the show," she says. "I couldn’t imagine another sitcom that would come to me that was as good or as fun as that. And I feel the same way now about ER."

That would leave her more time for films. Maura can be seen in Tina Fey’s surrogate mother laugh-fest Baby Mama next week.

"I play Tina Fey’s sister, who’s uber-fertile. It was really fun, and with Tina, Amy Poehler, Sigourney Weaver and Holland Taylor, it was a great generational span of crazy women."
