Tori Spelling’s Happy Return to 90210

April 9th, 2009

They finally let Donna Martin graduate from Beverly Hills high school, and now Tori Spelling’s character is a fashion designer living in Japan, back in the popular zip code to visit Kelly and Silver in an episode airing April 14 on 90210.

"At first I was really nervous," Tori tells Entertainment Tonight in an interview airing at 9 p.m. tonight. "It was like being the new kid at school, then halfway through my first day it felt oddly familiar!"

Co-star and fellow Beverly Hills 90210 alum Jennie Garth is happy to have her old friend back as well.

"It’s great. The two of us just click," reveals Jennie. "We have the easiest relationship. I thank my stars for her. I have been waiting and waiting and praying that it would happen and now she’s here!"

Tori adds, "We’ve stayed friends, so wasn’t hard to get back into the groove."

Amidst controversy about the current young cast and their super skinny figures, Tori and Jennie both weigh in on the media scrutiny.

"There are two things that aren’t polite to talk about with a woman: her weight and her age," says Tori.

Jennie adds, "Leave us women alone, okay? Get a life. Way to drive a lady to an eating disorder!"

Tori & Dean are Potty Partners in Crime

February 18th, 2009

Motherhood has been full of milestones for Tori Spelling, 35. The Beverly Hills 90210 alum, who has two kids with husband Dean McDermott, told OK! at a taping of The Rachael Ray Show in NYC that daughter Stella, 8 months, has already said her first word: "Mama."

"She is very girly and flirty but she is loud and demanding–which is true for most women!" said Tori. Meanwhile, son Liam, 2, is just getting the hang of toilet training, thanks to the Pull-Ups Potty Dance. "He takes his Pull-Ups off and goes to the bathroom," said Tori, (who teamed up with the brand to help families bid bye-bye to diapers). "And then he gets to do the Potty Dance." But sometimes Tori and Dean, 42, boogie down too! "I think it’s more fun for us!" said Tori, laughing.

When she’s not busy potty-traning, Tori has been hard at work reprising her role as Donna Martin on the new 90210. One of her young co-stars, Annalynne McCord, recently caught up with OK!, where she gushed over getting to work with Spelling.

"It’s been really cool for me," McCord told OK! at the Kiss For a Cause event in Santa Monica on Feb. 7. "She’s so little! You don’t realize how little people are when you see them on TV and then you see them in person and you’re like, ‘Oh my god!’"

Ok, isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black there, Annalynne?!

Jennie Garth: Nothing I Can’t Do

September 22nd, 2008

While it might be strange for fans of the original Beverly Hills: 90210 to see Kelly Taylor as a mother 90210, Jennie Garth is even more of a mom in real life.

“I love getting little home-made things from the girls," Jennie tells GlamourTV in Episode 3 of Moms Working It of her three daughters with husband and fellow actor, Peter Facinelli. "They go to great lengths to make me presents.  Even if they’re like little scribbles on the back of my grocery list,  or something.”

So how does she embarrass her girls?

"Whenever the Jonas Brothers come on TV I freak out," she confesses. "Cause they’re so cute. And, one time we met the Jonas Brothers and I couldn’t hold it in, and my 10-year old daughter was mortified.”

Everything else, she says, she learned from her mother, although she does have her limits.

"There’s nothing I can’t do and I know that because my mom taught me that. And I saw my mom doing anything and everything.  Although I won’t clean a fish.”

The Beverly Hills Kids Are Back

August 21st, 2008

School’s back in session in America’s most famous zip code, with a whole new cast of sexy young characters. OK! spent some time getting to know the most recent group of characters to call 90210 home.

CLICK HERE for OK!’s exclusive photoshoot with the new cast!

Shenae Grimes
, 18, plays Annie, the sweet, innocent Brenda Walsh-type character just recently arrived in Beverly Hills by way of the Midwest.

“Annie is transferring from Kansas City to West Beverly,” Shenae tells OK!. “The big thing with Annie is the transition and her trying to fit in.”

The All-American heartthrob is played by Dustin Milligan as popular, sporty Ethan, a mix between Brandon Walsh and Steve Sanders, the popular, sporty guy with a few skeletons in his closet.

“Ethan is the star athlete of the school, but he’s not your typical jock,” says Dustin, 23. “He’s a guy who’s perceived to be the top of the school, but it’s really not the case behind closed doors.”

The cast is rounded out by Jessica Stroup as Silver, the free spirit with her own YouTube show; Michael Steger as Navid, the high school journalist; Annalyne McCord as fashionista Naomi and Tristan Wilds as Dixon, the scholarly athlete.

Still devoted to Kelly and Brenda? Keep your eyes peeled for some of your favorite cast members from the original Beverly Hills, 90210 – you never know who might show up to teach these kids a thing or two!

TomKat’s Star-Studded Housewarming

June 1st, 2008

What better way to christen your new home than to throw a party for 250 of your closest friends?

That’s precisely what Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes did Saturday night, hosting a giant A-list bash at their new Beverly Hills mansion.

Although the exclusive invite said 8:30 p.m., most of the invitees arrived fashionably late, pulling up just before 9 p.m to a valet service outside the iron gate opening into the long driveway curving up to the Cruise’s $35-million estate.

Guests included movie industry execs, Scientology dignitaries and celebrities. Eva Longoria Parker, Kimora Lee and Djimon Hounsou, Tobey Maguire,Rita Wilson, Oprah Winfrey,Gail King, Kyra Sedgwick, Kirstie Alley and Victoria Beckham-who arrived without hubby David Beckham–were among the first to arrive.

Also in attendance–Cruise "frenemy" Brooke Shields, Jennifer Lopez and Keri Russell.

Eyewitnesses tell OK! that the Cruises pulled out all the stops for the party, enlisting good pal and renowned chef Wolfgang Puck to cater the event. From the street, the sounds of horns pierced the warm night air as a full orchestra played big-band music throughout the night, at one point striking up a rendition of the Mission Impossible theme song.

A source inside the party tells OK! that guests were treated to a formal sit-down dinner, which took place outside under a giant black tent covering the entire front of the estate alongside a large rectangular fountain. Behind the main house in the yard, an outdoor lounge offered comfortable sofas.

TomKat picked the right weekend to throw a party. Katie is about to make her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, and has reported plans to hunker down in the Big Apple for the duration of the play.

Stay tuned ……

The new Beverly Hills, 90210 is slated to start production this summer.

CW Plots ‘90210′ Spinoff!

March 13th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Make way for a new batch of rich kids from Beverly Hills!

The CW Network is reportedly developing a spinoff to the original Aaron Spelling teen sensation, Beverly Hills, 90210, a soapy drama about a group of rich high school kids.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Veronica Mars creator, Rob Thomas, is in talks to pen the new show which has been put on the fast track by the CW. The network is expected to make a decision about whether or not to order a pilot by the end of the month.

90210 creator Darren Star is not involved this time around, according to sources.

At an event in L.A. on Thursday, OK! caught up with original 90210 alum, Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor) who, when asked about plans for a possible reunion flatly said, "No."

No other details about the spinoff were immediately available. This would be the second spinoff from the 90210 series, which aired on FOX from 1990-2000. The first one, Melrose Place — also created by Darren Star — had a successful seven-year run on FOX and did not feature any major characters from 90210.

Stars Love Going To Beverly Hills

September 6th, 2007

Why should I go?

Surrounded on three sides by Los Angeles with West Hollywood nudging up on the fourth, Beverly Hills, Calif., has always been synonymous with luxe living; remember a certain TV show with “90210” in the title? While the days of Brenda and Dylan are long gone, Beverly Hills remains a premier shopping destination, with top-tier restaurants to delight any gourmand and enough 5-star hotels to satisfy the most pampered guest. But remember, this is California, so even in the most upscale establishments, “casual elegant” is the norm. As you drive around, don’t be surprised to see film and TV crews hard at work utilizing the city as a backdrop for their stories. And star spotting requires no special training here. Celebs are everywhere!

Where should I stay?

The Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel, has an unmatched level of service. The hotel has 395 newly renovated rooms, a third of which are suites. Sadly, there is no “Pretty Woman” room; although the exterior of the hotel was featured in the Julia Roberts film, Richard Gere’s suite was actually built on a studio soundstage. Guestroom décor is warm and contemporary, and befitting a property built in the 1920s, there are touches of art deco. But you’ll enjoy all the modern conveniences: Every room has a 42-inch flat-screen TV and the bathrooms are done in Italian marble. Rooms and suites range in size from 400 to 5,000 square feet, with prices from $525 to $7,500 a night.

The Beverly Wilshire is a destination unto itself. Definitely schedule in “Personalized Time” at The Spa at the Beverly Wilshire, where your therapist designs a customized plan that will have you scrubbed, wrapped, massaged and polished! It’s the ultimate spa experience, and you can book from two to five hours. If pool lounging is your style, the one here is a replica of Sophia Loren’s in Italy, and the Pool Bar & Café is the perfect lunch spot. All day, dining is available in The Blvd, which also has one very cool bar. The hotel’s “must” dining experience is Cut, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant and heaven for steak-lovers; Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes visit Cut at least once a week. Take your pick: Nebraska Corn Fed Dry Aged, American Wagyu or True Japanese 100% Wagyu Beef, which will run you $160 for an 8-ounce rib eye. Sommelier Dana Farner has put together a wine list of rare depth, with 75 bottles under $75.

What are the must-see sights?

Rodeo Drive, right out of the Beverly Wilshire’s front door, is more famous
than any street on Earth for its high-end shopping. Jewelers Bulgari, Cartier, Harry Winston and Tiffany & Co., and fashion houses Versace, Armani, Christian Dior and Valentino represent just a sampling
of what you will be dazzled by.

The Paley Center for Media is a pop-culture buff’s delight. It stores millions of episodes of TV shows that can be watched at individual viewing stations and has a 150-seat theater reeling out several programs a day on its big screen. The Center also brings in the casts of the best shows on the air today for Q&A sessions with the public. The stars of Ugly Betty and Lost have both participated. (Admission to the Center is free, but tickets to the special events average $15.)

Greystone Park, free to the public, is 18.5 acres of whimsical gardens, tree-shaded lawns perfect for lounging and ponds stocked with Koi and turtles. The centerpiece is the 46,000-square-foot Greystone Mansion, with its 55 livable rooms. In 1928, Ned Doheny Jr. and his wife, Lucy, moved in. Only a year later, Ned and his personal assistant were killed in the house, and it was ruled a murder-suicide. Most now believe Lucy pulled the trigger on both men! A movie based on the crime, There Will Be Blood, which opens in January and stars Daniel Day Lewis, was partly filmed in the mansion; scenes from Spider-Man 3 and The Holiday were also shot there. The property is open to tours by appointment for a fee of $100 for up to 10 people. There’s an indoor bowling alley, a rifle room with shooting balcony, a vault the size of a modern bank’s for liquor and a safe just for the gold flatware. It would cost an estimated $135 million to replicate this incredible mansion today.
