Project Runway Secrets Revealed

February 20th, 2009

Although the final designers’ collections from Project Runway were shown this morning during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC, the show still doesn’t have an air date after wrangling between the Bravo and Lifetime Networks.

In the meantime, certain secrets about the show came to light this morning, when a few models who were in the show revealed to OK! that there will be three finalists, all of them women, and two of them blonde.

Doesn’t make for much information until the season starts, but the guy designers apparently have no hope of a win this year.

That magic number of three finalists was a relief to Season 4 winner Christian Siriano, who says Heid Klum told him there would be a whopping 10 collections shown from the contestants!

"I thought it was going to be like ten shows coming down the runway," he says. "[Heidi) told me that too. She lied. She’s got to twist the stories.”

Christian liked the third collection best, adding, "I thought there were pieces I could do without but I thought they were really strong.”

Judge Nina Garcia, however, wouldn’t pick a favorite, but did reveal that the winner would be chosen today.

"We’re judging this afternoon," she tells OK!, adding that they didn’t have any information as to when the show would premiere.

TV Weekly Recap: Real Housewives NYC and Tyson Beckford!

February 13th, 2009

Tune-in Alert:  Don’t miss former HTGV Design Star 2 runner-up Todd Davis get a rematch tonight on HGTV Showdown. He’s competing against Kym Myles, who took the top slot when they both appeared on Design Star, season two.

"Yeah, I’m a little nervous," Todd tells the TV Fanatic, but is certain his redesign of a children’s playroom with Jennifer Bertrand will be hard to beat. "The parents wanted something really out there and fun for the kids. So you know, coming from me, going to be unique and daring design."

Catch Todd work his magic on HGTV Showdown, Sunday, Feb. 15 at 9 p.m. on HGTV.

With V-Day looming tomorrow, I felt it was only right for this available gal to seek out advice from The Millionaire Matchmaker’s Patti Stanger.

"Wear bright-colored dresses," she instructed. "It will make you stand out."

So thanks to Diane von Furstenberg and a little touch-up from Salome at Paul LaBrecque salon, I looked and felt like a million when I joined The Real Housewives of New York City in for their secondseason premiere party in The Gilt Room of New York City’s Palace Hotel.

Ramona Singer, Alex McCord and Jill Zarin all had their best accessory, their husbands, by their side. I decided to ask the men what they do to make Valentine’s special for the ladies they love.

"I always like to write a sentimental card, I think that’s important," Mario, Ramona’s husband, revealed. "When you been in relationship as long as I have, 16 years, you just talk about all the many things you’ve gone through in life and how you value your friend ship and love grows."

Simon van Kempen, Alex’s husband, actually prefers the simple things. "Three years ago, I think it was for her birthday, we booked a baby-sitter and just went to the movies," he shared. " It was such a normal evening – no red carpets or parties or fancy dinners. Sometimes when you do something completely different, it’s nice."

As for Jill’s husband Bobby, "We celebrate our love for each other all year long. Every day is Valentine’s Day," he declared. "That’s just the way I roll." Bobby also added this gem of advice for newlyweds. "I learned this from a wise old man years ago. Every morning when you wake up, you say I’m sorry. That covers you for the entire day."

The Real Housewives of New York City returns Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 11 p.m. on Bravo.

The next night I ran into Make Me a Supermodel mentor Tyson Beckford during the New York Model Management party at Grace Hotel in midtown. Being a single guy, Tyson was keeping his V-Day plans low-key.

"I’ve had a bunch of single girlfriends say, let’s just go out and get something to eat, but anywhere you go now is going to be crowded. Plus I got to work, so I don’t know," Tyson shared.

Well, I’m single too, so if you want to try to find the last reservation in NYC together, Tyson, holla here!

Catch the second season of Make Me a Supermodel beginning March 4 on Bravo.

Until next time, fellow fanatics!

Vote for The Fashion Show

February 4th, 2009

Been going through fashion design competition series withdrawal? Haven’t we all?

Well, Bravo is trying to get stitched up again with its new series, The Fashion Show.

The concept? Follow professional designers as they “strive to make their mark in the dog-eat-dog world of fashion and compete for a chance to have their designs sold for the mass retail market,” says the official release.

And the network is letting us get in on the action. Starting today on Bravotv.com, you can vote for the series’ final contest from two semi-finalists. They are:

Andrew, 35, who has conquered the world of designer underwear with his own brand, Andrew Christian.

?Elise, 24, who was trained by her mother and grandmother and is the owner of her own label, Elise Bergman.

We’ll also be the ones saying “Auf Wiedersehen,” since America gets to chose who stays on this series. Sweet!?

TV WEEKLY RECAP: ANTM, Robin Thicke and the Millionaire Matchmaker

January 16th, 2009

This will be the year I meet Mr. Right, if Patti Stanger has her way.

I met the star-prenuer of the reality series, The Millionaire Matchmaker, last night at the Bebe store in New York City’s Columbus Circle, where she was signing copies of her new book, Become Your Own Matchmaker: 8 Easy Steps for Attracting Your Perfect Mate.

As I sipped champagne and nibbled goodies from The Works Catering (a not-for-profit organization benefiting New Yorkers living with HIV and AIDS), Patti declared, "You’re cute, are you single? I’ve got to fix you up." My mother will be thrilled!

Patti’s show returns Thursday, Feb. 12 at 10 p.m. on Bravo, and she promised this will be a season we won’t want to miss. "Watch the first episode because there’s a twist," she teased. "Paul comes back, who got engaged. I can’t tell you what happens, but you’re going to be blown away."

It may finally be the time for Patti to become one of her own success stories. "My boyfriend and I, this year, we’ve been talking about getting married," she confessed.

When Mr. Right does come around, there’s one song he should play to get a gal in the mood, according to Robin Thicke.

I got to watch the sultry singer perform an intimate set for 1-800-Flowers.com’s evening of rhythm and romance Wednesday night on Manhattan’s west side.

"This one," he said with a grin as his hit single "Lost Without U," blared through the speakers. That one stays in major rotation on my MP3!

I asked Robin what show he’d love to guest star on.

"The Grammys," he chuckled. Hopefully he’ll get his wish and present at the 51st Grammy Awards, airing Sunday, Feb. 8 on CBS. All the more reason for me to tune in that night.

One thing I will be tuning in for is Oxygen’s syndicated launch of America’s Next Top Model.

Our newest OK! addition, Will Reiter, and I hit the network’s launch party at Gotham Hall Monday night, and mingled with glamazons from seasons past.

Ms. ANTM herself, Tyra Banks, was in attendance, but she must have her crew on lockdown. Even the chatty Ms. J. Alexander wasn’t giving up much about the new season, including its international destination.

"It’s a really hot one, very. I’m not going to tell you, but that location is major. You will love it, trust me."

Ms. J. did give it up when it came to describing his look for cycle 12. "Just think: studious." C’est tres chic!

America’s Next Top Model, the "Obsessed" marathon, begins Sunday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. on Oxygen.

Until next week, fellow Fanatics!

Rachel Zoe Responds to Skinny Talk

December 10th, 2008

After recent reports weighed in on Rachel Zoe’s stick-thin appearance at an L.A. fundraiser on Dec. 7, estimating her weight at a paltry 89 pounds, the stylist to the stars is responding to her critics and insisting she’s healthy.

"Rachel is fine," her rep tells OK! "She just got over the stomach flu and is busy working on the second season of the Rachel Zoe Project for Bravo."

The dimunitive fashion diva has gotten flack in the past for having allegedly influenced  Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan to slim down when they were at their lowest weights, a rumor that Rachel has denied in the past.

"The thing is, we’ve had thin people in fashion since fashion began, and blaming one person for that gives me way too much power," she said of critics’ claim that she had "brought anorexia back."

"I don’t have the power to cause anorexia any more than I have the power to cause obesity or addiction. If a parent has a child with a problem, they look to blame anything or anyone they can, and I think it’s the parents who have to say, ‘We should try to fix this’."

Constance Zimmer is a Fresh Mommy!

October 3rd, 2008

As other hot Hollywood mamas can attest to, being a mother can be a joy – and a pain, when it comes to shedding those extra pounds gained. But Entourage’s Constance Zimmer shared a few tips with OK! that she’s learned since giving birth to her daughter Colette Zoe last January.

"I did a food program that’s called Fresh Mommy, which is all delivered organic food that’s really good for you," she told OK! Thursday night at an event celebrating Tommy Hilfiger’s Ironic Iconic America special on Bravo in Beverly Hills. "You need to eat so much food after you have a baby to breastfeed, so it’s all about portion control."

Exercise also played an important part in her journey back to her fit bod, she reveals.

"I walked a lot. I wore a weight vest when I walked, so it was an added four pounds of weight every time I walked," she says. "It’s been eight months. This industry doesn’t give you any time to take off the baby weight. It kind of has to happen right away."

Despite having to work hard to regain her pre-baby body, Constance says being a new mother was a big change.

"She’s pretty fantastic so I feel really lucky that she’s such a good baby," she gushes. "It just changes your whole perspective on the world. We all need that. It makes you think about things like the fact that, ‘oh I need to make sure I have all of my immunities and booster shots.’ Now you are responsible for somebody else and I need to be here on this Earth for as long as I possibly can to help her."

Her new role as a mother has also changed her view on fashion, as she admits, "It’s like, I’m a mom. I’m not really going to be seen in a half-shirt anymore.”

Jenna Fischer on Being Iconic

October 3rd, 2008

Even as audiences are hanging on every move Pam and Jim make in their romance on The Office—especially after Jim proposed to Pam at a gas station last week—Jenna Fischer thinks they still have a long way to go in terms of becoming an iconic TV couple.

"Ross and Rachel, Sam and Diane [of Cheers] and Moonlighting – those shows are still the top," Jenna told OK! at an event celebrating Tommy Hilfiger’s Bravo special, Ironic Iconic America Thursday night in Beverly Hills. "I’m not quite sure where we are. We’re maybe middle tier."

Although their fans might disagree with that assessment, exactly how would Jim and Pam reach that higher echelon of TV coupledom? Jenna says she’s not quite sure.

"It’s hard to ever be Ross and Rachel that’s for sure, [and] it’s hard to be Sam and Diane," she admits. "Maybe we’ll be the first couple to have a baby – oh, no I guess Ross and Rachel did that too. I don’t think there’s anything. We’ll have to see."
