Pete & Ashlee to Move to NYC in Spring

November 25th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Proud parents Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz made baby name news on  Nov. 20 when they dubbed their newborn son Bronx Mowgli, after the famous NYC borough. However the couple is set to move to another borough, Brooklyn, this spring from L.A.

A family friend tells OK!, “They want to settle into their new life with a baby before they move to Brooklyn.”

Ashlee gave birth to 7-pound, 11-ounce Bronx in the same maternity suite at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. where Julia Roberts gave birth to her son Henry in June 2007. Sister Jessica and father Joe visited the new mom in the hospital.

So, what’s with that middle name? According to a pal of Ashlee, they chose the middle name Mowgli in hopes that he would acquire the qualities the fictional Jungle Book character Mowgli has.

“Pete and Ashlee want Bronx to be a survivor, just like Mowgli," the pal tells OK!.

OK! Exclusive: Posh Pregnant Again?

November 12th, 2007 / Author: OK! Staff

It’s been a busy baby year for the Spice Girls, as two of the four lovely ladies gave birth. First, Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown welcomed her second child Angel Iris into the world on April 3, and then Emma Bunton had a Baby Spice of her own, when she birthed little boy Beau on Aug. 10. And now, OK! has learned exclusively that Victoria Beckham , already a mother of three boys, might be in the family way for a fourth time — and judging by her shopping habits, she might finally be having a girl!

Sources reveal to OK! that Posh popped into swanky L.A. baby store Petit Tresor, not once but twice in the last week. Also, it appears the singer has been thinking pink, picking up both a Blankee brand blanket and a cashmere stuffed animal in that feminine hue.

When Posh returned with a friend to the Brentwood, Calif., boutique the following day, the source tells OK! she seemed to be gathering information for designing a nursery for their new Southern California home.

So why would Victoria, who along with hubby David Beckham are the proud parents of Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 5, and 2-year-old Cruz, be keeping so hush-hush about the good news? “The Spice Girls reunion tour is coming up,” explains one music industry insider. “Everyone’s seen how much guff Christina Aguilera and J.Lo both got for touring while obviously being pregnant. She’s probably trying to avoid that if she can.”

When asked to comment on this item, a rep for Victoria told OK! that the singer is “not pregnant.”

Facing Fears on a Saturday Night

October 27th, 2007

It’s Saturday. A girl I work with is having a party for her
30th birthday at her apartment- in Brooklyn!
She sent out a Save the Date weeks ago and I put in on my calendar. She sits
next to me at work, she saw me do it and I said I’d love to come to her party –
in Brooklyn.

I’ve lived in downtown NYC for nearly seven years yet I can
count on my hands (probably one), how many times I’ve been to Brooklyn.
If there’s a party of event in Brooklyn, it immediately
lowers the chance I’ll be there. I don’t know why. Really, distance-wise, many
parts of Brooklyn are closer to my apartment than my
office in Midtown. Really, a cab there is half the price of a cab uptown (not
that I venture there too often either) and the subway that could get me
door-to-door is only steps away.

I always say I want to go someplace different, see people
and places in NYC that I haven’t before and Brooklyn
offers that and more. So, hopefully tonight I can get past my mental block
thinking a trip to Brooklyn is such an anxiety-inducing
task.

That said, I guess it’s time to stop procrastinating, go
down and get a cab and hope the driver doesn’t wince when I say I need to go to
Williamsburg! Remember that “Sex in
the City” episode where Miranda moved to Brooklyn and
the cab driver kicked her out because he said he didn’t do Brooklyn!
