Angelina More Powerful than Oprah?
June 4th, 2009
Do you get the feeling that somewhere inside Oprah Winfrey’s home, she’s throwing darts at a portrait of Angelina Jolie? Somehow, the superstar actress has managed to bump the one-woman media empire from the top of Forbes magazine’s list of most powerful celebs.
Despite the fact that Angie earned only a tenth of Oprah’s estimated $275 million last year, she was still somehow able to make the jump from #3 to #1 on the annual Celebrity 100 list, which also considers media exposure (does Lady O’s daily talk show — or magazine, or radio network — not count?) in determining its rankings.
"These lists are really meaningless," one Hollywood insider tells OK!. "They’re fun for water-cooler chit-chat, but do you really think Angelina is any more ‘powerful’ than any of the others near the top of that list? And financially speaking, Oprah is really the only one who has the cash to play with the real power brokers that keep the world turning."
Oprah is still sitting pretty at #2, just above Madonna, Beyoncé, Tiger Woods, Bruce Springsteen and Steven Spielberg. Interestingly enough — Angie’s baby-daddy Brad Pitt (#9) was beat out by his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, who landed in the #8 spot.
Bruce Springsteen: I’m Not a Cheat
April 9th, 2009
After reports surfaced indicating Bruce Springsteen as the other man in a divorce between a New Jersey couple, the rock legend says he’s still faithful to his wife, Patti Scialfa.
According to The New Jersey Star-Ledger, his rep says he stands by a statement posted to his site, brucespringsteen.net in August of 2006, at which time he was reportedly named in a different affair.
At the time, he wrote: "I hesitate to use this website for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job. However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn’t pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years – the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."
In this new case, divorce papers filed by Arthur Kelly accuse his wife of 17 years, Ann C. Kelly, of being involved with Bruce, saying she "has committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, N.J., and Colts Neck, N.J., at various times and places too numerous to mention."
Regis Draws a Blank On Stage
November 9th, 2008
It sounds like Regis Philbin was up a little past his bedtime on Nov. 5!
Hosting the Stand Up For Heroes benefit in New York, the chat show veteran left a packed house cringing when he tried his very best to call Saturday Night Live’s longest-serving star, Darrell Hammond, to the stage.
The Live With Regis and Kelly host, 77, welcomed him out saying, “He’s America’s best impersonator," before stammering, "…and I don’t know why I can’t remember his name.”
And it was left up to an audience member to bail poor Regis out by yelling Darrell’s name from their seat.
Lucky for Regis, great performances from Whoopi Goldberg, Bruce Springsteen and Ricky Gervais meant his embarrassing gaffe was quickly forgotten.
It’s safe to say it wasn’t the highlight of Darrell’s night though.
The comic, who has done more than a hundred different celebrity impressions on SNL since 1995 — including Regis Philbin! — opened his set with a dejected, "I’m feeling pretty good about myself right now."
The event was held to raise funds for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, and their new campaign, Remind.

Susan Sarandon’s Amazing Birthday Gift!
October 29th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
Apparently a nice new pair of socks isn’t a good enough birthday gift for Susan Sarandon’s husband.
Instead, she surprised Tim Robbins on his 50th birthday with a movie that had taken her a year to produce!
As well as messages from, amongst others, Clint Eastwood, Bruce Springsteen, Kevin Costner and Jack Black — plus a skit by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert — Susan even managed to dig up ancient footage of the Shawshank star at camp!
"He was so shocked," Susan told OK! at a Vacheron Constantin party in New York, "it almost killed him! I was very proud of myself."
You better get thinking Tim, because that’s a tough gift to follow!
