Brad & Angelina on Being World Travelers

January 26th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Here’s a tip for Hollywood studios wishing to save some money on international shipments — just hand them off to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. From L.A. to Berlin to NYC to Tokyo, there’s a good chance they’ll be heading there soon.

In fact, the pair — and their six children — are jetting off to Japan Monday morning, only hours after Brad and Angie put in appearances at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.

"Our kids are always packing," Angelina told Entertainment Tonight about globetrotting with six young children. "They like to pack; it’s a game in our house."

However, all that back and forth across time zones can wreak havoc with a family’s daily routine. "It can get very hard trying to find 20 minutes to close your eyes if you’ve been up since four in the morning," revealed Angie. But rather than trying to use sleep to make up for all the time differences they experience, she says, "We travel so much, we never have to adjust. We change school time to four in the afternoon in we have to!"

Meanwhile, both Brad and Angelina, who were still attempting in vain to hide her pregnancy this time last year, agree that it’s been a wonderful time for them since.

"We have two healthy little babies," says Angelina. "That’s made this the best year."

Jokes Brad: "At some point, we’ll sit down and take inventory!"

Special Report: Brad & Angelina in Berlin

October 1st, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

With an Oct. 1 premiere for his comedy Burn After Reading in Berlin and an Oct. 4 premiere for her drama Changeling in NYC, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are back to their globe-trotting ways — but only temporarily. The couple and their brood have happily settled into their new digs outside Berlin.

Angie and Brad, along with Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox, moved to the city’s southern Wannsee Lake neighborhood and are now ensconced in the Palais Parkschloss (Castle in the Park), a 12,000-square-foot villa set amid fairy-tale gardens overlooking the yacht-filled waters of the Wannsee.

The family is expected to stay three months while Brad shoots Quentin Tarantino’s World War II thriller Inglorious Bastards in Berlin and several other German and French locations.

“[We] are thrilled that they are nearby,’’ Brigitta Schmidt, 55, who lives down the street, tells OK!. “Normally the most exciting thing we see in Wannsee are roaming wild boars, but this is more exciting!”

The sexiest man alive and his trademark fedora were on display at Al Contadino Sotto Le Stelle on Sept. 24, where Quentin hosted a party for members of the Inglorious
Bastards
cast.

“Brad really loved the Parma ham, mushrooms with cheese and eggplant antipasti,’’ restaurant owner Mimmo Bianco tells OK!. “It was a family atmosphere among the actors, and the thing you feel about Brad is what a warm, generous heart he has, how he just wants to be part of the gang.’’

Brad has similarly impressed his cast mates at rehearsals. “He brought Maddox to the set, and they were holding hands,’’ one co-star tells OK!. “They were cool dudes together.’’

Jen Takes Toronto

September 10th, 2008

With the possibility of a run-in with ex-husband Brad Pitt hanging in the air, some doubted that Jennifer Aniston would show her face at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival.

But Jen proved the naysayers wrong when she showed up looking radiant and sexy in front of hundreds of fans gathered outside the Isabel Bader Theatre on Sunday for the premiere of her new film, Management.

“I love this movie!” she gushed. “I love my fans, and that’s all I care about!” And by all accounts, during the happily single star’s visit to Canada, her ex-husband was the last thing on her mind.

The city was definitely big enough for both of them — especially since Jen and Brad were only in Toronto at the same time for 12 hours. As Jen was arriving in Toronto and checking into her hotel on Saturday, Brad had already attended the premiere for his new Coen brothers film Burn After Reading and was going to dinner with friends at Italian hot spot Sotto.

The evening turned out to be quite low-key, with no run-ins between the two. Brad flew out of Toronto on Sunday, thus avoiding any possibility of confrontation with Jen and letting her have the limelight.

And shine she did! Later that evening, with the hurdle of bumping into Brad behind her, a glowing Jen dined with her Management co-star Steve Zahn at the restaurant Lobby, before heading off to their premiere.

Toronto capped off an exciting week for the actress, who has been throwing herself into her work with renewed vigor. Just days before she attended the festival, Jen was busy filming scenes for her guest spot on 30 Rock in NYC.

“I just had the time of my life,” Jen said of her 30 Rock stint. “The cast welcomed me with open arms, and it was so good.”

In fact, Jen’s cheerful mood carried over that week to Toronto, where the normally press-shy star opened up to discuss love and men.

“In order to let love in, you’ve got to really surrender control, you know?” Jen told OK!. “And that’s hard for some people. You’ve got to make sure it makes you feel good.”

Brad: George Hates Children

September 8th, 2008

Buddies and often co-stars, Brad Pitt and George Clooney like to go for laughs when it comes to questions about their personal lives.

During the Toronto International Film Festival Extra’s Jerry Penacoli asked Brad if George would be serving as godfather to his newborn twins, Knox and Vivienne.

“No, he hates children," joked Brad. "Are you kidding? I love them [the twins] too much to subject them to George.”

The handsome twosome have had plenty of practice recently answering questions for each other on their personal lives, as they’ve been making the rounds at film festivals to promote their new movie, Burn After Reading.

During a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, George was the one using jokes to deflect questions from curious reporters.

“I am so surprised to hear that question," George responded, after being asked if it was his turn to settle down. "That is honestly the first time I’ve been asked that question," he quipped, adding. "I am getting married and having children today. Brad?”

”And until then I’ll be sharing mine with him," Brad picked up. "I’ll have two more by next year.”

Brad’s Sleepless Nights

September 7th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Apparently being the father of six young children isn’t that easy — even if you are Brad Pitt.

"Sleep is something longed for," revealed the patriarch of the Jolie-Pitt clan in a press conference for his new film, Burn After Reading. "But that’s alright."

But according to John Malkovich, Brad’s co-star in the Coen Brothers film, having all those kids hasn’t prevented Brad from being an active and involved father.

"The only time I ever saw him, he was with [daughter Shiloh], doting," John recalled. "He was just with his daughter a lot during shooting… He’s very much a present parent."

John also reminisced about how he has seen Brad grow and develop as an actor and father over the two decades they’ve known each other. "He was a lovely young man then and he’s stayed so," he explained. "He’s someone who has been extremely graceful about who he is and what he’s achieved in his life."

Luckily for Brad, who in case you were hiding in a bunker all summer, became the proud father of twins in July, he was able to get some advice on the Burn After Reading set from a fellow parent of twins, co-star Tilda Swinton.

"I said it gets easier," she told OK! at the Toronto International Film Festival. "And it’s true. It does get easier."

Meanwhile, when Brad was asked if he had plans on collaborating with partner Angelina Jolie, he coyly replied, "I collaborate with her every day."

Brad Calls Best Actor Win “An Honor”

August 27th, 2008

Can Brad Pitt get any better?

At 44, he’s still one of Hollywood’s sexiest leading men, pals around with the likes of George Clooney, is father to six kids and gets to wake up every morning next to Angelina Jolie.

But on Wednesday, it was a lighter side of Pitt that audiences saw at the Venice International Film Festival as he took the stage to retrieve his best actor trophy for last year’s Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

"You can run, but you can’t hide," Pitt joked as he accepted the award from the mistress of ceremonies. "It was an honor to receive this last year and it’s an honor to receive it this year. Thank you very much."

Brad won the gold cup last year, but left before the awards ceremony, never picking up his trophy.

"I guess you forgot something here years ago," said the mistress of ceremonies told him. Holding up the gold cup to honor Pitt’s performance in the film, she said, "Brad, this is yours."

George Clooney: “I’m Getting Married Today”

August 27th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

When Brad Pitt and George Clooney are in a room together with reporters, who wants to talk movies? Apparently no one, according to Reuters.

The genetically-gifted twosome were bombarded with off-topic questions today at a press conference at the 65th Annual Venice Film Festival for the Coen brothers‘ film Burn After Reading, which they both star in.

How are Brad’s babies?

"The twins are fine," George replied, stepping in to save his buddy.

Okay then, reporters wanted to know, are you going to get hitched and make some beautiful offspring of your own?

“I am so surprised to hear that question. That is honestly the first time I’ve been asked that question," he quipped, adding. "I am getting married and having children today. Brad?”

”And until then I’ll be sharing mine with him," Brad picked up. "I’ll have two more by next year.”

As for the movie? Well, the funny guys are only in one scene together. But no one seemed to ask about that.

Tilda Swinton Offers J.Lo Twin Tips

January 16th, 2008

Jennifer Lopez is approximately two months away from doubling her family with twins. However, double the fun is also double the trouble, but fellow mother to twins Tilda Swinton has some advice for the expectant mom.

"Just always remember at 4 o’clock in the morning that some people have three [kids]," she tells OK! at the National Board of Review banquet. "Say it over and over again like a mantra. ‘Some people have three, some people have three…’"

The 47-year-old is mother to fraternal twins, daughter Honor and son Xavier with husband John Byrne, and  these days the siblings are "into being ten. They’re climbing up trees and in bushes. They’re into train sets and having a tortoise."

Tilda was on hand at the awards to honor her Michael Clayton co-star George Clooney, who was named best actor. So what’s it like working with him?

"He’s just a dude, and he’s completely settled in his own life," she says. "That helps, when someone’s really happy. They’re really relaxed, and it’s easy to be relaxed around them. He’s become a friend of mine. I’ve just made two films with him, and I’m the lucky one."

The other film is this year’s Burn After Reading, which also stars Brad Pitt, and don’t think for one second Tilda doesn’t know how lucky she is to share the screen with the two hunks.

"I’m not complaining," she says. "I’m not complaining about any of this."
