OK! Interview: Eva Mendes

Eva Mendes says she’s “so excited” to be the face of Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession fragrance and their underwear, Seductive Comfort.

 

After seeing her naked on billboards, the male population got pretty excited too!

 

Eva, 34, spoke to OK! about getting into shape for the ads and why she loves her boyfriend.

 

What do you love that your fans might not know about?

"My secret obsession is love. I love “love!” I love being in love, and I love having
someone be in love with me. Love is the sexiest thing in the world."

 

Tell us about your home decor line.

 

"My boyfriend and business partner, George Augusto, and I created Vida. We’re
starting off with affordable, bold, romantic bedding. We hope people love it as much
as we do."

Do you like to do something other than acting once in a while?

 

"I’m so happy to be in a place in my career where I can branch out and pursue other things that I feel passionate about."

What are your beauty tips?

 

"It’s obvious but important: water, water, water! Staying hydrated is the best thing
one can do for their skin. I’m also big on moisturizing. I love to cake on heavy face
cream. Cocoa butter has saved my dry skin many a time!"

 

How did you prep yourself for the Calvin Klein shoot?

"All I did differently was increase my cardio for two weeks because I wanted
these images to look like my real, healthy body. I didn’t want to show up looking
like the skinny version of me. I wanted the real version of me up there."

Tom Brady Says No to Undie Ads

While David Beckham’s underwear clad-bod has been gracing Giorgio Armani billboards across the world, causing fans everywhere to stop, drop and drool, don’t expect to see Tom Brady in his skivvies any time soon.

 

According to Pop Tarts, the Patriots quarterback, who suffered a season-ending knee injury earlier this fall, passed on a Calvin Klein campaign that would’ve seen him joining his supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bündchen among the ranks of designer underwear advocates.

 

Apparently at the last minute the NFL superstar got a little squeamish about lending his body to the art of advertising, and pulled out of the deal.

 

Come on Tom, your Victoria’s Secret girlfriend doesn’t seem to have a problem with being adored by millions for having a killer bod, so what’s the big deal?

Eva on Her Racy Ad: “This is Beautiful”

In a steamy ad for Calvin Klein’s "Obsession" perfume, Eva Mendes is seen rolling naked on a bed, partially covered in a white sheet. Suddenly she rolls over once more and oops - her nipple is exposed.

 

The too-hot-for TV commercials were banned from appearing in the U.S., a move that Eva says surprised her.

 

“That was just a natural accident and when I saw it, I said, ‘Yeah, I support this. This is beautiful,’ " she tells Extra in an interview airing tonight. "I had no idea I was going to be treated like such a provocative woman."

 

Although the lovely starlet and her body are buzzworthy today, Eva says that wasn’t always the case.

 

“I was awkward looking and I still am awkward looking, but I embrace that now," she says of her adolescence and being teased by the other kids. “I couldn’t gain weight… Because I was little and small framed and I couldn’t gain weight, I was all mouth."

Celebs Glam Up For CFDA Awards

Star power is in full effect for the CFDA Awards, held at the New York Public Library.

Fashionistas don inspired gowns as they accompany – and sometimes fawn over — their designer on the way into the gala event sponsored by Swarovski.

“Victoria looks amazing, and that’s all I really care about,” Marc Jacobs says. “Who could compare to Victoria Beckham? There is no one else.”

The mother of three repays the compliment. “What Marc does, he does beautifully,” Posh Spice says. “To wear his dress is a huge honor. I love this dress. It’s great for me. Being here with Marc is a huge honor. It’s very, very exciting for me. I’m sure it’s going to be magnificent.”

Ooh, there’s Tony Parker towering over Eva Longoria Parker, who is dressed in a pink frock. “Does she look beautiful tonight?” a reporter asks. “Always,” he says with a shy smile.

Posh Spice isn’t the only star who is thrilled to be on the guest list tonight. Hilary Duff says, “It’s my first time here, and I feel very glamorous.”

Hey, it’s my new pal Jason Lewis! Who is he most excited to meet tonight? None other than his Sex And The City love interest Kim Cattrall. “Maybe I’ll go have a drink with her right now,” he laughs, before asking the impeccably-dressed eight-months-pregnant reporter for her due date. “It’s a night full of beautiful people wearing nice clothes. It’s not really that bad.”

The pregnant reporter also gets some love from Amy Poehler. They trade congratulations on their respective babies-to-be. How’s Amy feeling? “I feel good,” the SNL star says.

Oh, look, it’s Diddy. “How you doin’?” he asks me as he plows through. He mugs with Andre Leon Talley and Naomi Campbell. Hey, here’s Lil’ Kim … I love her purple dress. And now, the men’s-suit wearing Olsen twin is chatting it up with Eva Mendes.

Meanwhile, Katie Lee Joel says her Fred Leighton dress is Billy-approved. “He always likes what I wear,” she says. What is she excited about? “Just looking at what everybody has on. I love fashion, and this is an incredible night. I’m already catching all sorts of things I like. This place is a great prediction of where fashion is going to go in the future.” And, with all that cooking, how does she maintain her sleek physique? “Exercise, exercise, exercise,” she says. “I do spinning, I run and I do a lot of yoga.”

Kim Raver’s two kids are at home tonight, but they watched her get ready.

“My son is so sweet,” she says. “He told me I look like a zebra tonight. I think it’s so great that he’s got an opinion. I love it.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal is also enjoying a mom’s-night-out from daughter Ramona.

It’s showtime! Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein wins the top prize. Tom Ford, Tory Burch and Carolina Herrera also win big.

Fergie Loves Her Calvins

Nothing comes between Fergie and her Calvins.

The "Glamorous" songstress donned a canary yellow Calvin Klein gown at the Grammys earlier this month and it sounds like she’ll be wearing even more CK in the future — Fergie is in talks with the company to be its new spokesperson.

"She’s a perfect fit," an insider tells to OK!. "She loves Calvin, and they think she is beautiful and fun and brings a lot to the brand."

And just how much does the 32-year-old love Calvin? She was spotted at the New York City flagship store on Feb. 4 checking out potential wedding gowns for her upcoming nuptials to Josh Duhamel.

"She loves the classic Calvin look, and it’s one of the designers she’s considering for her wedding dress," the insider says. "She says she hasn’t had much time to really think about her wedding, but it’s a lot of fun figuring it all out as she goes along."

Calvin Klein Inc. declined to comment.

Mark Wahlberg Sends Becks a Panty Note

Marky Mark is desperate to get David Beckham into his Calvins.

After getting more than an eyeful of the soccer god in his new 2008 underwear ads for Emporio Armani, the original king of skivvies, Mark Wahlberg, who famously posed in some skimpy undies for Calvin Klein early in his career, was left speechless and impressed at his heir apparent’s complete package.

Once he recovered, sources tell OK! that the Oscar-nominated actor sent the soccer superstar a congratulatory note on a job well done, complimenting the 32-year-old on how "healthy" he looked in the black and white, spread-eagle shots.

But before Becks’ ego could get too big, the source says, "Mark reminded him that Calvin’s are what the real Americans choose to wear!"

The chiding didn’t burst David’s bubble though — Mr. Posh is said to be thrilled he received the seal of approval.
