Michael Douglas Calls Fatherhood ‘Magical’
May 18th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff
Michael Douglas loves being a dad later in life.
“I have the attention, the time, the priority,” the two-time Oscar winner, 64, who is married to Catherine Zeta Jones, 39, tells me. “This is not a business that you can balance your family life with your professional life. Most people have a nine-to-five job and they work five days a week. Sometimes they have the summer off. This is a job where you’re gone for long periods of time. When your priority becomes family first, you really get to enjoy and savor these incredible years of super-fast growing spurts. It’s a bond that’s magical.”
Dylan, 8, takes drama class while Carys, 6, does ballet.
Like son Cameron, 30, from his previous marriage, would he encourage the latest batch to go into showbiz?
“I don’t think you have a lot of control over what your children decide to do,” the Ghosts of Girlfriends Past star says. “Either encouraging or discouraging – that’s certainly the life they’re familiar with and the life they know. It wouldn’t surprise me if, like a lot of children, they go into the careers that their parents might be in. I think they’ll see the pitfalls and the great advantages. It is a gypsy life. I’ll support my children in whatever they decide to do.”
The family certainly enjoys a lavish life faraway from Hollywood.
“We live in Bermuda, where my mother came from – my mother’s a Bermudian and we have a big family down there. The kids are in school there.”
He adds, “It’s a beautiful island. Gorgeous beaches, lovely people. It creates an environment for us away from the entertainment business, and gives our kids independence and freedom where showbiz isn’t on everybody’s lips. It’s a lovely, lovely place. It’s about an hour-and-forty-five minutes – under two hours — from New York. It’s also a British colony. It’s a lot of similarities for Catherine. They drive on the left side of the road, and the Queen and all that.”
They also keep an apartment in NYC and a farm in Quebec.
“We go skiing in the winter time,” he says. “In the summertime — lake stuff.”
Catherine’s Beer-Based Beauty Tips
January 27th, 2009
Catherine Zeta-Jones is sharing her secret to looking young and fabulous and it has nothing to do with plastic surgery or fancy cosmetics!
The Swansea, Wales-born mom of two–who lives in Bermuda with husband Michael Douglas–is currently the face of Elizabeth Arden cosmetics. But don’t think the actress goes looking for her makeup bag when she needs to freshen up!
In an interview with Britain’s Daily Mail, the 39-year-old actress says she owes her glowing skin and hair to homegrown remedies.
"I rub a mixture of honey and salt all over my body to moisturize and exfoliate," Zeta-Jones says. "You wash it off and your skin is gorgeous. Also, I eat an apple after a meal, just to cleanse my teeth–they always look polished afterwards." The actress also says strawberry and pineapple juice do the same thing. "The juice or pulp of strawberries contains malic acid which serves as an astringent and can lighten surface stains," she explains.
In 2005, Zeta-Jones was voted the celebrity with the ‘best dressed’ hair in a nationwide survey. Now she reveals her sudsy secret!"
I do condition my hair with honey and beer," she admits. "I smell like the bottom of a beer barrel for days afterwards but it’s very good for the hair."

Catherine & Michael So In Love
August 4th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
That’s amoré! Love was on the menu for Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas during a recent dinner in Italy.
Success Signals author and body language expert Patti Wood tells OK! that Michael, 63, “absolutely shows he is Catherine’s.” And the 38-year-old actress feels the same. “She is upright and smiling largely,” says Patti. “Her arm wrapped up and around him indicates that she can and does support him and is happy.”
The couple married in 2000, and have two sons, Dylan, 8, and Carys, 5.
No More “Ocean’s” Films
July 11th, 2008 / Author: OK! StaffLooks like 13 was an unlucky number for the series of hugely popular George Clooney and Brad Pitt-starring Ocean’s films, as co-star Don Cheadle tells OK! that there won’t be another sequel.
"No," said Don when asked about whether or not there’d be an Ocean’s 14. "Done. It’s a wrap."
This sad news brings to an end the series of films, which started with 2001’s Ocean’s 11 — a semi-remake of the Frank Sinatra-starring 1960 original —and has grossed over $1 billion worldwide. In addition to Cheadle, Pitt and Clooney, the Steven Soderbergh-directed films featured a veritable who’s-who of Hollywood stars, including Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Andy Garcia, Casey Affleck, Al Pacino, Bernie Mac, Scott Caan, Elliott Gould, Carl Reiner and several others.
And even though Don won’t be working with this cavalcade of stars in the near future, he’s very excited about his current projects — producing a TV version of his Oscar-winning 2004 movie Crash for cable network Starz, and an upcoming film in which he’ll portray jazz legend Miles Davis.
