Chad Michael Murray Leaving One Tree Hill?

May 12th, 2009

After six seasons on CW sudser One Tree Hill, is it time for Chad Michael Murray to make his exit? One new report says so.

According to EW.com, the actor won’t be rejoining his cast members when the show returns in the fall. And, says the report, neither will actress Hilarie Burton, whose character, Peyton Sawyer, said "I do" to Chad’s Lucas Scott on Monday night’s show.

It looks like their departure from the show is the result of stalled contract negotiations for both stars, meaning that next Monday’s show will likely be the last you’ll see of Lucas and Peyton.

OK! Interview: Drew Seeley

September 30th, 2008

It’s highly possible you’ve been a Drew Seeley fan for years and didn’t know it, as his  most famous vocal performance to date has been lending his singing voice to Zac Efron’s character, Troy, in the first High School Musical film.

But now, the hunky actor is stepping out of Zac’s shadow and starring opposite Disney sweetheart Selena Gomez in the DVD Another Cinderella Story.

“I really do feel validated in a different way now that I can step out front in center,” Drew tells OK!. “I’ve been waiting a really long time for this.”

And though you’d think Drew, who also co-wrote the Emmy-nominated HSM song "Get Your Head in the Game," might have a chip on his shoulder about all the fame Zac has achieved in recent years, you’d be wrong.

“I feel like Zac was cast right for that,” Drew says. “I think he was really good in the film and obviously his career is blowing up and I wish him the best. I think everything happens how it’s supposed to happen.”

Their paths crossed again after that first HSM film when Drew was called on to take on the role of Troy in the live "High School Musical Tour" because of Zac’s commitment to film Hairspray. And, remembers Drew, it wasn’t easy being the only un-original cast member.

“In every town I had to win over the crowd,” He recalls to OK!. “Most people were like, ‘Where’s Zac? Here’s everybody else.’ But I was the first one to get on stage every night and I think by the end of the first song I won over the crowd.”

Drew even says there’s definitely a possibility of the two Troy’s working together. “I would love to work with Zac,” says Drew. “I feel like that would be really fun with the history of everything. If the script is right and the project is right, why not?”

In his new movie with Selena — a sequel to 2004’s Cinderella Story, starring Chad Michael Murray and Hilary Duff Drew is once again stepping into a part where he’s just asking to be compared to the previous film’s star.

“We expected it to be decent or even bad, but it’s actually really good,” Drew says. “I think this movie surpassed everybody’s expectations of how it was going to be.”

And while common sense would say that the movie’s kiss scene with 16-year-old Selena would be more awkward for her than for 26-year-old Drew, he insists he was the nervous one!

“Her mom was standing right there the whole time,” Drew tells OK!. “But we’re both acting professionals so we got through it.”

Drew’s had more acting roles lately. He recently wrapped the Adam Sandler-produced thriller Shortcut with Desperate Housewives star Andrea Bowen and James Franco’s younger brother, Davy Franco.

But what’s one thing he’s most proud of? “My mom’s jazzercise class used ‘Get Your Head in the Game,’” Drew says. “That was cool.”

Chad Michael Murray “Looking Forward” to Marriage

August 5th, 2008

At the 10th Annual Teen Choice Awards last Sunday night, One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray, 26, gushed about his upcoming nuptials to 20-year-old fiancee Kenzie Dalton to OK!.

"I’m looking forward to it. I’d like to be married," he told OK!. "She’s my bud. She makes me laugh. We’re goofballs together. She gave me a necklace and I don’t like to leave home without it."

Of her own love life, Chad’s first wife and One Tree Hill c0-star, Sophia Bush, told OK!, "I’m just happy. I’m just me right now."

Sophia Bush Comes Clean

June 2nd, 2008

Sophia Bush is warm and friendly when she launches Tone’s Almond Milk body wash during a Gen Art Styles event held at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

As lemon chicken and tuna tartar tacos are served, tunes including Rihanna’s Umbrella, Jesse McCartney’s Leavin’ and Leona LewisBleeding Love fill the air. Sophia struts up to the microphone.

“What’s come to the forefront of fashion and beauty products today is a trend toward our world becoming more accessible,” the raspy-voiced One Tree Hill star says. “You can see that with Sarah Jessica Parker’s Bitten line, and you can see that with these Tone products, that are wonderful for your skin. It’s chic, fashionable and affordable.”

Sophia and I sit down on white couches, where she is giddy about presenting the Tone Fashion Vision Award to Jolibe tonight. (She’s also giving him a check for $10,000!) What’s the key to her style?

“Always having fun with it,” the actress, 25, tells me. “Putting on something that makes you feel great, whether you’re in the mood to be casual and throw on jeans and a v-neck t-shirt, or you want to get done up and put on a dress and the heels and throw the hair up in bobby pins. Regardless of what it is, you’ve gotta feel good. If other people are pushing you into fashion decisions, I don’t think that’s the way to go. That’s why I generally choose to dress myself.”

What makes her feel comfortable?

“What makes me feel most comfortable is feeling like I’ve been taking care of my body. Having healthy skin is just as crucial as having the big white smile. I load up on my antioxidants, drinking green tea and taking my Omega 3 fish oils.”

What also makes her happy is being free and single after ending her marriage to One Tree Hill costar Chad Michael Murray in 2006 and two-year relationship with fellow actor Austin Nichols.

“I really like just enjoying my time in the moment,” she tells me. “Being in every day, not planning for tomorrow, not worrying about yesterday. It’s so lovely to just have time with my girlfriends and my family. But it’s really awkward to not be dating in Hollywood because whenever I get spotted anywhere with any of my guy friends, suddenly we’re madly in love or something. People misconstrue things so insanely. You realize you can’t win and you sort of have to let all that go and laugh about it at the end of the day.”

Upon leaving, I get a gift bag that includes Tone body wash in Exotic Fusions, Almond Milk and Sugar Glow, plus Almond Milk hand wash and Almond Milk body bars. All right!

Sophia Bush Looking for a Funny Valentine

February 21st, 2008 / Author: cwillett

It’s been over two years since Sophia Bush split from Chad Michael Murray, and while he has moved on to another girl — he’s engaged to Kenzie Dalton — Sophia is still happily single.

So what does a guy need to do to win her heart?

"[He's] got to make me belly-laugh," Sophia tells OK! at the Global Green Pre-Oscar party. "I do ridiculous things to make myself laugh all the time."

A sense of humor is not the only thing on the checklist for the One Tree Hill star though. The 25-year-old, who’s been linked to her other Hill co-star James Lafferty, also needs a "driven, motivated and smart" guy.

"Intellect is the sexiest thing in the world to me," Sophia says, but adds, "you’ve still got to make me laugh."

And since she’s an avid environmentalist, could she ever date someone who wasn’t green?

"I can’t imagine dating someone who wasn’t because I would be up in his face about it all the time."
