Cover Story: No More Babies for Angie!

December 30th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

They are reportedly heading to Ethiopa to add another orphan to their well-loved brood, but as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt await this seventh child, they’re struggling with the news that they may never have another biological baby, sources say.

OK! has learned that because Angie’s last two pregnancies were so fraught with complications, she has been advised to wait a long time before getting pregnant again – or not to get pregnant at all.

"Her previous pregnancies ended with emergency caesarian secions," an insider tells OK!. "She’s been told that, at the least, she should not get pregnant for a year after her last deliver, and it would be safer if she did not get pregnant, ever."

The health complications this time around could pose a direct danger to the Changeling star, Dr. Larrian Gillespie, who has not treated Angie, tells OK!.

"Angelina is at risk of having a stroke or heart attack, and because she developed gestational diabetes, there is a high risk she’ll have it again, with the child being at risk for diabetes."

Not being a biological mom again might be hard for Angelina, as she revealed to Vanity Fair last year that she loves being pregnant.

"It makes me feel like a woman," she said. "Also, I happen to be with someone who finds pregnancy very sexy."

Eva: “I Just Want a Healthy Child”

October 13th, 2008

While the pregnancy rumors swirling around Eva Longoria-Parker and hubby Tony Parker seem to have died down lately, with the Desperate Housewives star repeatedly denying she’s got a bun in the oven, the couple have said they do eventually want to be parents.

But Eva, who once again denied that she was pregnant, says she’s not about to be picky when it comes to the sex of her future kids.

"People always say ‘I want a boy! I want a girl!’ I just think, ‘Oh my gosh, I just want a healthy child,’" she tells Pop Tarts during her Padres Contra El Cancer’s 8th Annual "El Sueno De Esperanza" benefit gala in Hollywood last week.

"That’s truly a gift," she adds."If you’re a healthy adult, to complain about anything in life that’s so minute, you really have to be grateful for everything that you have and do something with it."

Baby Fever for Jewel?

October 10th, 2008

Before Jewel and her rodeo champion husband Ty Murray eloped in August to the Bahamas, they’d said they wouldn’t tie the knot unless they were planning on having children. But now friends of the singer/bestselling poet tell OK! that she’s quickly changed her mind.

"Jewel and Ty are desperately trying to have a baby right now," the source says. "She told her team to clear her schedule for 2009 because they are planning for a baby. She wants to also release a lullaby record next year because she has such baby fever."

This is a change in tune for Jewel, who previously shrugged off the idea of starting a family anytime soon.

"We don’t know if there’s a point – we’ve lapped our friends who’ve gotten married and divorced," Jewel said in the past. "We probably would if we had kids – we’re just not sure we want them yet. But we’ve had something really special already."

Angelina Talks About Her Pregnancy

April 9th, 2008

She has never confirmed that she is pregnant, but on Tuesday, Angelina Jolie revealed during the middle of a conference on education policy in Iraq that she "felt kicking suddenly in the middle of the event."

It’s quite an admission from the expecting mother of four, who has quietly continued her busy life–happy not to acknowledge her growing baby bump. But on Tuesday, Jolie said she’s savoring this period–unexpected kicks and all–adding "It’s a very special time in our lives."

Angie is in Washington D.C. to promote education among Iraqi children. Specifically, she is there to launch her new initiative, Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.

Jolie brought her two sons, Maddox,6, and Pax,4, with her to the nation’s captiol. She will remain in D.C. for the rest of the week before re-joining Brad Pitt and their daughters Zahara,3, and Shiloh,1.

Angelina Promotes Education for Iraqi Children

April 8th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Angelina Jolie is in Washington, D.C., where, on Monday night, she presented her friend, Mariane Pearl, wife of slain journalist Daniel Pearl, with an award for outstanding leadership.

Pearl accepted the Fern Holland Award from a glowingly pregnant Jolie at the Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards Gala at the Kennedy Center.

During her acceptance speech, Pearl, whose life was portrayed by Jolie on screen in A Mighty Heart, called the actress a "sister," and told the audience the two had spent the day together with their children, Maddox, Pax and Adam.

Angie presented other awards, along with First Lady Laura Bush, to six individuals for their outstanding humanitarian efforts. The 32-year-old mother of four arrived in the nation’s capitol on Monday to promote her latest effort — urging the international community to make educating Iraqi children a priority.

"The best way to heal children of conflict from trauma is to have them focus on their future," Jolie told the Council on Foreign Relations on Tuesday.

The event was to help launch the actress’s new venture, the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which will focus on the work of prominent charity organizations as well as tell the stories of the children in need.

"Every child has a right to education and conflict is not a reason to ignore that," Jolie said.

Angie visited Iraq last August and has traveled to more than 2o humanitarian hot spots, including Sudan’s Darfur region since becoming a goodwill U.N. ambassador in 2001.
