Christina Milian is a huge fan of girls’ nights out.
The singer-actress, 27, likes to dine out in L.A. with her gal pals when her man isn’t around.
“It’s fun,” she tells me. “You should do it and you need that for yourself. Especially when you come into a relationship, as women, sometimes we get so caught up in our relationship, that we forget the people that are there for you – your friends – or you don’t get time for yourself. For me, I need that. Whenever my girlfriends need me, I want to be there for them, and then just going out … just the energy of it helps me keep my mind off my boyfriend all day. I’m like ‘I miss him, I miss him, I miss him.’ But on top of that, it’s just a great outlet to have your girlfriends.”

As a singer and actress, Christina Milian knows what to do when it comes to getting her picture taken, but it wasn’t always second nature.
“When they were taking my picture, I’d be so nervous that I’d twiddle my fingers and hands really fast and rapid,” she tells me. “My mom pointed it out and a couple people pointed it out. I was like ticking. I had to cut that out once I noticed what I was doing.”
How did she get over it?
“I started paying attention to it. When people started pointing it out, and I guess it becomes a problem when you’re doing a photo shoot – you might want to listen.”
How can you look better in pictures?
“Learn your good angle,” she tells me. “Practice in the mirror. Honestly, I don’t even know about angles. I used to think about that stuff when I was younger, and I let that go. Practice in the mirror every now and then and take pictures of yourself. I do it all the time for fun.”

Christina Milian and her music producer boyfriend Dre met while working together on a video in 2005, and have been together ever since. While she lives in L.A. and he lives in Miami, their love goes the distance.
“He knows I love going to the beach, so he randomly booked a hotel, the Ritz, which I really like a lot,” she says. “I like the Ritz on South Beach. We went to the beach and we went to the pool and had spa treatments. It was all very random. He said we were going to his house; he forgot something. The next thing I know, we showed up at the hotel and he’s like ‘I got you this, I got you that.’ It was so sweet.”
Why are they good together?
“He’s genuine,” she tells me. “When he wants to tell me he misses me, he’s not afraid to. When he wants to tell me he loves me, he’s not afraid to, no matter whose around. And he makes me feel special. It’s great to have a relationship with someone that’s so open to just love. That’s what’s so wonderful about him.”
Are wedding bells in their future?
“Perhaps yes,” she says dreamily. “I love him enough. I’m definitely happy. I could see myself with him forever – yeah.”
She doesn’t intend to give up her career, though.
“In the next ten years I see myself achieving that Grammy I’ve always wanted from square one. I see myself getting even an Oscar. And I see that big 20,000-feet house in the middle of Beverly Hills. Hahahaha!”
