Even though Miss USA Kristen Dalton won the pageant, she can’t have the man she wants: Law and Order: SVU’s Christopher Meloni.
“He’s the epitome of what a man should be,” the North Carolina native, 22, tells me during An Evening of Practical Magic to benefit City Harvest held at NYC’s Cipriani 42nd Street on Wednesday. “He’s physically strong, mentally and emotionally strong, but he’s sensitive at the same time. He cares about children and women and he knows how to treat people.”
Um, he’s married, I tell her. The 48-year-old actor has two children, Sophia, 8, and Dante, 5, with wife Sherman. They tied the knot in 1995. Would she have an affair with him?
“OK, no, I definitely wouldn’t,” she says in her sweet Southern twang. “It’s completely against my morals and my beliefs. It’s just not right.”
Who’s her runner-up celebrity crush?
“Matt from American Idol,” she tells me. “He’s the Justin Timberlake of the show. I love how he can play the piano, and his soothing voice. I would love to meet him. He could sing to me and play the piano all day long, and I would just fall in love with him.”
What should Mr. Giraud, 23, sing?
“Just The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. Wait, Harry Connick, Jr.”
