Ice-T Gives Testimonies For Wife Coco

June 18th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Ice-T keeps his love for wife Coco going strong by giving her testimonies in public.

“Your man ever give you a testimony?” the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star, 51, asks me. Raising his voice, and his hands, Ice-T demonstrates. “’I love Coco. This is my woman, I love her.’ I say it in the street, loud. ‘Baby, I love you so much. You’re so beautiful, you’re so fly.’”

Coco adds, “He says it out of the blue, and it’s very cute, but it embarrasses me.”

How do they keep it hot?

“We spice it up,” he says. “If you love somebody, you’ve gotta love their feet, you’ve gotta love between their fingers, you’ve gotta love the way they comb their hair, you’ve gotta love when they tie their shoes … you’ve gotta go ‘ooh! Look how she ties her shoes.’ You’ve gotta love somebody, so we just dig on each other all day. It’s a good thing.”

Diddy, Beyonce, Mariah Pay Tribute At ‘Notorious’ Premiere

January 8th, 2009

Stars turn out in full force for the Notorious premiere held Wednesday at NYC’s AMC Lincoln Square, but Beyonce and Jay-Z drift in the side entrance and Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon sneak through the back door.

The superstars are simply being cautious given the circumstances surrounding the debut of the movie paying tribute to the life and death of rapper Notorious B.I.G., who was gunned down in 1997 after attending the Soul Train Music Awards in Los Angeles.

Lil’ Kim is unhappy about her portrayal and is threatening to expose the secrets of Biggie’s mom, Voletta Wallace, who says she has nothing to hide, laughing “I was exposed many years ago when I gave birth.”

Voletta adds, “It reveals a lot about my son that I don’t like, but I still love him.” What would surprise us about Biggie? “He was a manipulator.” She gives her stamp of approval to Angela Bassett’s performance of her.

Naturi Naughton, the former 3LW singer who plays Kim, confirms the controversy. “It is true, naturally, I’m not going to front,” she tells me. “But I hope she enjoys my performance because I put my heart into this. It was hard because you’re trying to appease the fans – they want to see a replica of what they’re used to – and you’re trying to appease the person because they see themselves in a different way. It’s a challenge.”

As the story goes, Kim had an affair with Biggie (born Christopher Wallace) while he was married to Faith Evans.

Dealing with the loss of her husband and father of her son Christopher doesn’t get easier for Faith Evans. She struggles to help others when they are grieving.

“You never get over it,” Faith tells me. “Even when I meet people who have gone through the loss of a loved one, I don’t know what to say even though I went through it — other than I’m praying for you, and keep your head up. I think it’s such a personal thing – you can only be there in the sense that you know that they need you. Just be there when you’re needed. Just keep yourself focused on your higher power, and keep yourself in prayer.”

After B.I.G. was killed, his good friend Puff Daddy recorded I’ll Be Missing You dedicated to his memory.

Of course, the artist now known as Diddy has no beef with how he was portrayed by Derek Luke.

“I think Derek did a great job,” Diddy says. “I think everybody on there did an excellent job. I would get chills when I was around them. I would have to actually leave. At the end of the movie, it broke my heart. My heart is broken every day with Biggie not being here, and it just opened it up even more so.”

The father of four — who is also an actor — doesn’t feel dissed because he didn’t want to play himself.

“I get to play myself every day,” Diddy laughs. “I’m looking for roles that would be a stretch for me, and playing myself is probably one of the hardest things to do. But I wanted the movie to not be about me. I wanted the movie to be about Biggie. And I’m looking to play roles that are not myself and are foreign to what I do every day.”

He adds, “I don’t know how many people who have had a movie that is made about them while they’re still young – it’s kind of hard when you’re young, because you’re looking at yourself and it’s something you would expect to happen when you’re older. I don’t know if I was mature enough to really handle it, and I still don’t know if I’m mature enough to handle it.”

Ginger Kroll, who plays another woman who has an affair with Notorious B.I.G., definitely would not cheat after this part.

“There are consequences,” she tells me. “I was punched in the face and had this big fight scene. It’s not a good idea. I don’t recommend it. I’m not a cheater, so I wouldn’t have been in that situation to begin with, but seeing the consequences of this film, even doubly so.”

Jamal Woolard, who suffers from diabetes, defied doctor’s orders to portray Notorious B.I.G. “I got up to 340 because I really wanted to win the role. I just ate everything in sight.” Also: he stuffed his bottom lip with cotton balls. “I put the cotton balls right here [in front of teeth] because B.I.G. had something extra right here. We went Marlon Brando-style with the cotton balls.”

Anthony Mackie
, who plays Tupac, says the rapper who was gunned down in 1994 would be “very pleased” with the Obama administration. (His 1990s tune Changes includes the line “We ain’t ready — to see a black president.”)

Fabolous shares lessons learned from Biggie’s life and death.

“Life is precious,” he tells me. “You see someone who’s had so much great success – they could be here today, and gone tomorrow. Just the same as a regular person. He was a celebrity who represented being down-to-earth. He still went through the same trials and tribulations as regular people go through.”

Actress Melinda Williams remembers when Notorious B.I.G. was shot.

“I was in Jerry’s Famous Deli in L.A. at the time, and it’s directly across the street for Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Some guys came in saying ‘Biggie’s dead, Biggie’s dead’ and that’s certainly one of the worst nights I remember.”

Mary J. Blige
pats Angela Bassett on the back, saying “you look so beautiful” as Ciara, Ice-T and Coco, and Russell Simmons head into the screening.

Notorious is in theaters January 16.

Halloween With The Stars!

October 30th, 2008

Now we’ve been rooting through our closets for weeks digging out our most freaky and fabulous Halloween costumes, we had to find out what the stars are going to be getting up to on Friday.

Lance Bass and his Dancing With The Star partner Lacey Schwimmer tell us they’re going as their favorite High School Musical characters.

Lance is going to be Zac, Lacey is Vanessa and even Lance’s assistant Lisa DelCampo is getting in on the act, as Ashley Tisdale.

"We liked it because it’s a group costume and we can keep adding more people," said Lance.

Meanwhile, genuine Disney star Selena Gomez, says she’s dressing as one of her idols.

"I’m going to dress up as June Carter Cash," she says, adding that she’ll be going trick or treating with her BFF, Demi Lovato.

Pushing Daisies
star Kristin Chenoweth tells OK! that she and her younger man, Charlie McDowell, are opting for a more obvious costume.

"My boyfriend is much younger than me, and we want to go as Demi [Moore and Ashton [Kutcher]."

Then there’s the stars who take the chance not to put a costume on, but take one off, like Ice T’s glamour model wife Coco. "You think Coco likes to get naked… well Halloween. There’s going to be a lot of skin, she’s going to do her wild thing."

It sounds like Dina Lohan and her son Dakota didn’t have much choice in their Halloween plans.

"My neighbors just said we’re having a party at my house with all my twelve year old son’s friends," she told us.

Some stars seem to have discovered that you don’t have to dress up yourself to have fun on Halloween. Linsday Price is going give her dog a new look, while Fresh Prince star Tatayana Ali is going to dress up her grandmother instead!

"Linds is going to dress her King Charles cavalier puppy Ruby up as a Lady Bug," a friend of the Lipstick Jungle star tells us.

"We’re going to watch Hitchcock movies and play cards, and maybe cook," Tatyana says of her plans with granny.

"I might make her dress up!," she laughs.

And it sounds like some new moms and dads are getting excited about Halloween all over again, now that they get to dress up their kids.

"We’ll probably go to a party like we did last year," says Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford, who’s son Hermes just turned two, "where all the kids are and they have treats and all that stuff."

His outfit? A "beautiful handmade lion costume," we’re told.

"Last year my five year old was Little Red Riding Hood," says Fast Lane’s Peter Facinelli," and I was the Big Bad Wolf."

But some busy celebs, like Ugly Betty’s Becki Newton don’t have time to pick up a costume, so they’re finding less time-consuming ways to get into the Halloween spirit.

"I’m not really [dressing up], but I like the fall in general, like pumpkins, and I just went to William Sonoma today and got some pumpkin smelling candles."

And then there’s the ones who want nothing whatsoever to do with the whole thing, like newly married model, Beth Ostrosky Stern! "I hate Halloween. It scares me, ever since I was a child!"

Happy Halloween everybody!

Jermaine on Travis: “I Know He’ll Be Alright”

September 24th, 2008

While Jermaine Dupri definitely seemed to be having fun at his 36th birthday party last night at Tenjune in NYC, drinking Champagne and ruling the mic inside the club, the hip hop superstar took some time to talk about musicians Travis Barker and DJ AM, who were seriously injured in last week’s jet crash.

"My man, Travis, I know he’ll be alright," Jermaine told OK!. "He’s good. He’s doing better. I went to see him."

"He’s in good spirits," he adds. "He gonna be on iChat in like two days so he’s going to send you all a message."

DJ Cassidy also expressed his feelings on the two musicians, saying, "Words can’t even describe. I mean it really hits home."

"I hear that he’s actually well considering the circumstances and he’s already sent a text to a few people that I know so I guess that’s a good sign," DJ Cassidy added. "And he’ll be back stronger than ever making us dancing and party again."

Speaking of dancing and partying, there was plenty of that going on, and Jermaine was ready for it.

"To know that it’s about to go down inside. To know that people are outside ready to party," he says of his favorite part of his birthday. "I just like the fact that everybody [is] ready to go in here."

As for doing anything special, Jermaine hung out with friends like DJ Cassidy, girlfriend Janet Jackson, Ice-T and his wife Coco and Busta Rhymes.

"We just kicked it, you know. We’ve been getting drunk though," he confessed.
