Jodie Sweetin Files For Divorce

February 9th, 2009

In the latest chapter in the feud between Jodie Sweetin and her ex, Cody Herpin, the Full House star has decided to make their legal separation final, and has filed a motion for divorce.

Both Jodie and Cody were in court today, according to TMZ, and submitted clean drug tests. Although Jodie took the first step by filing for separation in November, a judge ruled that she wasn’t allowed to be with her 8-month-old daughter Zoie without supervision. Jodie has admitted a past addiction to meth, something she’s struggled to overcome.

Jodie and Cody’s marriage lasted just over a year, with the former kid star chronicling many of the moments of her life, including her first anniversary, as a special guest OK! blogger. A lot has changed since then:

"What I really want to do this weekend though is find some time with Cody to just be a ‘couple’ for a few hours," she blogged on July 12, days before her anniversary. Having a new baby definitely changes things — in a wonderful way of course. But there is some adjustment!"

Jodie Sweetin Has a ‘Full House’

Jodie Sweetin, 26, is adjusting to life as a mom now that she and hubby Cody Herpin, 30, welcomed their daughter Zoie on Saturday.

I caught up with the former Full House star when she hosted Pants-Off Dance-Off. She had a meet-and-greet with OK! at the Fuse studios, and a dozen staffers trekked out to meet her. We remember the day fondly. In fact, OK!’s Lindsey Hunter proudly shows off the photo on her desk.

What’s the most common reaction Jodie gets when she bumps into fans?

“The most common reaction I get is, ‘Oh my gosh, you haven’t changed!’ or ‘Oh my gosh, you have changed!’ ” she tells me. “Or, ‘Oh my gosh, you look so much older, but you haven’t changed.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know if that really makes sense.’ People still watch Full House all the time. It’s on three times a day!”

What’s her favorite Full House memory?

“One of the favorite things I got to do for Full House is go to Disney World for two weeks when we shot there. It was like a big family vacation with 70 people. The whole cast, the crew, I was doing school in the lounge area of my hotel in Walt Disney World and going backstage and getting to do stuff. It was really fun. Whenever we traveled, we had a good time.”

Best wishes for Jodie, Cody and baby Zoie.

Jodie Sweetin Welcomes a Daughter

April 13th, 2008

Jodie Sweetin’s house just got a little fuller!

The former child star gave birth to a little girl on Saturday, April 12. Zoie is the first child for Jodie and her husband of nine months, Cody Herpin, 30.

Jodie had a due date of April 6, she told Celebrity Baby Blog — which, coincidentally, is the birthday of Full House co-star Candace Cameron Bure — and told OK! last month that she was definitely counting down the days until motherhood.

“The countdown is on!” she said. “I think I’m ready. It’s weird. I don’t think you’re ever fully prepared to be a parent, but I’m excited for sure.”

Now that Zoie has arrived, don’t expect Jodie to give her a sibling anytime soon. The 26-year-old added that she would like to return to work — as soon as she gets back in shape!

“After the baby is born, I definitely want to start getting back into things,” she told OK!. “I want to start working again, but I want to get back into shape first, because it’s kind of hard to work when you’re round.”

Jodie Sweetin “Ready” and “Excited” to Be a Mom

Jodie Sweetin is weeks away from creating her own Full House!

The former child star expects her first child, a daughter, with husband Cody Herpin on April 6, and the mom-to-be could not be happier.

“Five more weeks to go — the countdown is on!” Jodie tells OK! at the Readalicious Wonderland event in Century City, Calif. “I think I’m ready. It’s weird. I don’t think you’re ever fully prepared to be a parent, but I’m excited for sure.”

In preparation for her new bundle of joy, the 26-year-old turned to her friends and family for advice on motherhood and supplemented those words of wisdom with lots of reading. “I’m a huge reader,” she says. “I’m a big book nerd. I go through like two books a week.”

Aside from learning the essentials on parenthood, Jodie took another step toward expanding her family — she and Cody recently moved to a larger home outside of Los Angeles.

“It’s nice,” she says. “We’re a little less hectic, a little more out of the way of things. There is no picket fence, but it’s not Hollywood either.”

Like many expecting mothers, the actress has had her share of food cravings, but says she is far more normal than some of the women she’s heard stories about.

“Frozen chicken pot pies are like the one thing throughout the pregnancy I’ve really wanted but that’s about it,” she says. “Nothing weird. No pickles and ice cream. I’ve heard of women craving to eat dirt, but none of that. I’m pretty normal.”

When her pregnancy is over, Jodie looks forward to getting back to work, but knows she has to work herself into TV-ready shape first.

“After the baby is born, I definitely want to start getting back into things,” she says. “I want to start working again, but I want to get back into shape first, because it’s kind of hard to work when you’re round.”
