Holly Madison & Criss Angel Split!

February 25th, 2009

The fairytale bubble has finally burst for former Girl Next Door Holly Madison.
E! News has confirmed that Hef’s one-time best girl has split with her magician boyfriend Criss Angel.

The couple had been dating since late last year after Madison moved out of the Playboy Mansion following her breakup with Hugh Hefner.

"She was very much in love with him and they’re still very close friends," says a source close to the couple. "But it was a conflict of schedules. She felt she couldn’t devote 100% of her time to him in Vegas, at the expense of her own career and her goals."

Madison, 29, and Angel, 41, had been living together in his Las Vegas home since December, but she has recently moved out and is staying with family.

The source went on to say, "It was a tough decision for her to make, but she wanted pursue her career. She still has very intense feelings for him."

Reps for Madison and Angel couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.

Holly Madison: Sad Over Split With Hef

November 3rd, 2008

Life as a Playboy bunny isn’t all parties and fun, even if you’re Hugh Hefner’s #1 girlfriend. Holly Madison and the sex mogul recently split up after seven years together, breaking the Playmate’s heart.

“I’m just kind of sad about my breakup with Hef. I wish he would’ve seen it coming,” the blonde beauty admits to Extra.

While all seemed to be smooth sailing on their E! reality show The Girls Next Door, Holly, along with fellow Hef galpal Kendra Wilkinson, announced she’ll be moving out of the house.

“Everybody was surprised when it happened because even though I was unhappy for a long time, the split happened suddenly," she reveals. "The signs were there. I was depressed for awhile.”

As for the reason behind the big split, Holly says that age ended up being more than just a number in their case.

"I want to be with somebody I can have more of a future with eventually. Hef and I can’t get married and have kids… So it was fun while it lasted but it wasn’t right for my old age. I got too old for Hef.”

There are no bad feelings, however, as Holly explains, “I still work for him. We’re still best friends. I still call and check in on him almost everyday.”

Next up? Perhaps her "friend with benefits," Criss Angel, of whom Holly says, "We’re good friends and we love spending time with each other."

OK! Exclusive: Criss Angel Opens Up About Britney

October 22nd, 2007 / Author: OK! Staff

In the weeks leading up to Britney Spears‘ disastrous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, rock-star illusionist Criss Angel was not only linked romantically to the beleaguered pop star, he was supposed to be working with her to create a true stage extravaganza for her first televised performance in years.

But, like one of Criss’ infamous illusions, when Britney took the stage that fateful night, he seemed to do a vanishing act. And now, weeks later, the Mind Freak star talks to OK! to clear the air.

“We were supposed to do a creation of stuff that we worked on and it took a lot of dedication and work to do the things that we wanted to do,” Criss, on the set of his new NBC series Phenomenon, recalls exclusively to OK! about Britney’s planned VMA performance. “Unfortunately for me, she didn’t really want to put forth that type of effort.”

Criss, who has also been romantically linked to stars Cameron Diaz and Minnie Driver tells OK! that he just wanted what was best for Britney. “Basically I said, ‘Don’t worry about me. Do what you want to do. This is a big opportunity for you to do the VMAs, so if you don’t feel it, go with something else.’ And she chose to go with something else.”

As for reports that their backstage differences had ruined their friendship, Criss tells OK!, “We’re still friends and everything’s cool.”

The Britney Blame Game

September 11th, 2007 / Author: cwillett

There’s been quite a fallout since Britney’s performance at Sunday’s VMAs. After Britney’s not-so-comeback performance, everyone is pointing fingers to who is to blame for the demise of Britney. Let’s take a look at the alleged culprits in Britney’s performance.

Some are blaming Criss Angel for not including his illusions in the performance. According to him, he had apparently put in his creative input, but it was never used. Meanwhile, word is the Palms wouldn’t insure that version of the performance. Sarah Silverman, who basically knocked Britney out via her comedy routine, has received the most flak for single-handedly destroying her performance. The word is that Britney caught wind of the routine right before she hit the stage and got very upset. This led to her not being able to perform up to par. Sarah swears no one heard her routine before she hit the stage, so it would have been impossible for Britney to have known what was coming. Maybe the craziest theory out there is that MTV themselves set up the pop star to fail. With an antiquated awards show with lackluster ratings, could MTV have knowingly put the washed-up pop tart on stage knowing that millions of people would tune in to watch her fail, causing a never-ending gossip machine about the show? Even A-listers like Kanye West are buying into it. He told radio station Z100: “[MTV] they exploited Britney in helping to end her career. When Britney was opening, near the end, I felt so bad for her. I said, ‘Man, it’s a dirty game. This game will chew you up and spit you out.’”

Now fingers are even being pointed at her manager, Jeff Kwatinetz, of The Firm, who is also partly responsible for Kelly Clarkson’s album debacle earlier this year.

Or, should the blame be put on Britney? Word is she was out partying until 8 a.m. with DJ Ruckus and producer Dallas Austin at Revolution. That means she only had 10 hours between her VMA performance and her night of partying to rest up and practice before the big show. According to a source, "She was so drunk, her assistant was forcing her to drink water and pineapple juice to try to avoid a hangover," the source told OK!

When OK! caught up with Spice Girl Mel B in Vegas, she, too, was disappointed with Britney’s performance. "She looked like she was rehearsing it. When I was walking down the red carpet, I was telling everybody that I was looking forward to (seeing) Britney. I was like, Britney! Britney! Britney!"

As for that outfit? Well it’s getting a lot of criticism as well. There was more to it, including a corset, but according to reports Britney didn’t think that was sexy enough.

Britney’s Comeback Performance a Dud

September 9th, 2007 / Author: cwillett

Expectations could not have been higher for Britney Spears heading into tonight’s Video Music Awards, where the beleaguered pop star was to be the evening’s keynote performer — her first major stage show in years. Every celebrity who entered on the red carpet listed hers as the performance to see tonight. Would she be the Brit of old, who paraded on stage with a python without breaking a sweat? Or was it to be the Britney of recent months — out of sorts, disconnected? Within moments of her taking the stage, it was clear which Britney had arrived.

"She looked lost and confused," one member inside the Palms tells OK!. "She was definitely not into it." According to the audience insider, many of the bigger names in music "sat stunned" during Britney’s performance. "People were shaking their heads and wondering what happened."

Another question on the lips of folks in the theater was "Where was Criss Angel?" The Vegas illusionist, who has been linked romantically to Britney in recent weeks, was reportedly going to be part of her performance but was no where to be seen.

So does this latest misstep spell doomsday for Britney? Only time will tell. Her new as-yet-untitled CD is scheduled to be released Nov. 13.
