Marg Helgenberger & Hubby Split

March 25th, 2009

In a move sure to make her male CSI fans hopeful, Marg Helgenberger has filed for divorce from husband Alan Rosenberg, TMZ is reporting.

The divorce papers from L.A. County Superior Court cite Marg as listing irreconcilable differences in her marriage to the president of the Screen Actors Guild. While she is just now filing, Marg and her hubby have been separated since December.

The former couple have a good 20 years under their belts, a rarity in Hollywood – they were married in 1989.

CSI: William Petersen’s Farewell!

January 15th, 2009

It’s a sad time for CSI fans. Tomorrow night is William Petersen’s final episode.

The show’s veteran star is making his exit after eight seasons with the hit procedural drama, and the cast and producers he’s leaving behind are feeling the pain.

My L.A. counterpart, OK!’s Carole Glines, got the scoop on how they’re coping while  visiting the set during the winter TCA conference.

“We all got tears in our eyes,” while shooting Petersen’s character Grissom’s last episode, producer Naren Shankar shared.

Star George Eads, who plays Nick, said everyone experienced a lot of “sadness” on the set. “It was kind of awkward because we all wanted to have a moment alone with him. He didn’t want that. He’s not that kind of guy.”

Actor Robert David Hall, who plays Doc Robbins, said Petersen “threw a nice party for all of us.”

Although it’s goodbye, all hope Petersen will come back to the scene of the crime as a future guest star.  The way his finale show is written, “Grissom will come back at some time,” promised producer Carol Mendelsohn.

Without spilling the beans on Petersen’s final storyline, Shankar revealed it is “extremely moving. It felt like a natural place to end the show. Billy was definitive about how he wanted to leave the show.”

Laurence Fishburne
, who will fill Petersen’s big shoes as the new male lead on the show as Dr. Raymond Langston, joked that William will be back, “to make sure I don’t burn the place down.”

Fishburne revealed he’s signed on for a season and a half so far, so CSI is definitely staying put!

Catch CSI, Petersen’s final ep., Thursday at 9 p.m. on CBS.

Taylor Swift Goes TV!

January 13th, 2009

Who says you can’t sing and act in Hollywood?

Taylor Swift, teen country singing sensation, already proved she can cross over from country to pop stardom, and now the 19-year-old will be throwing her hat in the acting ring with a guest appearance on CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

She’ll play a teen who goes through changes with tragic consequences, the Associated Press reports. No airdate for the episode has been announced yet.

This week, CSI bids farewell to William Petersen, a longtime castmember and fan favorite. Maybe Taylor’s turn on the show can help soften the blow?

Taylor Swift does primetime

January 12th, 2009

Singing sensation Taylor Swift is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of CSI!

The casting news was revealed at the TCA winter conference today, where my L.A. counterpart, OK!’s Carole Glines, is scooping up all the hottest TV gossip (and we need some warm thoughts here in chilly NYC!).

The country crooning cutie will play a troubled teen on the hit procedural drama. Wonder where she’s learned a thing or two about being bad?

So from now, CSI stands for Country Singer Indentitifed!

CSI: NY Celebrates Lucky #100!

November 3rd, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

CSI: New York rolled out a blue carpet for its 100th episode party on Nov. 1 at downtown L.A.’s hip Edison club.

Stars Melina Kanakaredes, Gary Sinise, Eddie Cahill, Carmine Giovinazzo and Anna Belknap celebrated the 3rd series of the hit CBS CSI franchise reaching the 100 milestone. The episode will air Nov. 19.

Melina, who wore a sparkly blue dress by Kaufman Franco to the bash, told OK! she’s feeling a little separation anxiety because her youngest daughter, Karina, 5, just started kindergarten.

“She had a blast and it was very easy for her but for me, it was hard,” laughed Melina, who also has an eight-year-old daughter, Zoe, with husband Peter Constantinides . “She said, ‘go, Mama!’ [I said] ’Okay.’ You want them to need you, but you don’t want them to need you. It’s that Catch-22.”

The actress, who plays Stella, says her favorite episode was when her character “shot her boyfriend. It was tense and memorable. I’ll never forget the fear and the intensity of the whole experience and I don’t think she’s quite gotten over that yet, either…she hasn’t had a real relationship since.”

Meanwhile, the show has another exciting twist this season—the first CSI baby! Anna Belknap’s character Lindsay and Carmine Giovinazzo’s character Danny are expecting this season, a first for the CSI franchise.

And, in real life, Anna is six months pregnant with her second child with husband Eric Siegel, so her show baby bump is very real. Sinise told OK! “She doesn’t have to hide it. I’m glad they’re writing it into the show.”

Anna, who wore maternity jeans to the party, told OK! it’s made things interesting on the set: “I forget when we cut that I’m still pregnant when I walk away! It’s very weird in my head because you’re thinking in pretend when you’re acting.” Her big pregnancy craving? “In and Out burgers.”

If you loved the character Yola from the Showtime sitcom The Chris Isaak Show, then you’ll definitely want to tune in to CSI tomorrow night.

Kristin Dattilo, who played Yola from 2001 to 2004, is guesting and my L.A. counterpart, OK!’s Carole Glines, got the scoop!

“It’s quite a departure from all the comedic roles I’ve been doing,” Kristin says.  “I play a drug and gambling addict.  She dies three quarters of the way through the episode and it’s finding the killer in flashbacks."

She got to work with the show’s leading man, William Petersen. “We had two different scenes and I was dead in both. I kept thinking just don’t breathe, because dead people don’t breathe," she laughs.

"On one of his close-ups, I said , ‘I’m going to sit up and say boo during this take’ and he’s like, ‘please, don’t.’ We made jokes about that."

There must be some deja’vu casting going on in Kristin’s life.  She’s got a recurring role on Showtime’s killer series, Dexter.

She plays Det. Barbara Gianna, a vice cop who gets Angel mixed up in her sting. Why can’t he meet a nice, normal gal?

Catch Kristin on CSI Thursday, Oct. 16 at 10 p.m. on CBS. And look for her on Dexter Sundays at 9 p.m. on Showtime.

August 18th, 2008

Calling all CSI: Crime Scene Investigation fans! Oscar nominee Laurence Fishburne is headed to a small screen near you. Starting in the ninth episode of this season, Laurence will play a former pathologist now teaching college criminalistics. After a murder investigation, his character will become involved with the CSI team and ultimately joins them in the Las Vegas Crime Lab.

"CBS asked us, ‘Who’s at the top of your dream list?’ say CSI executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Naren Shankar.  "Without hesitation, we said Laurence Fishburne. He is a powerful and intense actor, with an incredible range."

Keep an eye out for Laurence this season, Thursday nights at 9 on CBS.

Gary Dourdan Pleads Guilty, Avoids Jail Time

May 28th, 2008

Former CSI star Gary Dourdan pleaded guilty to two of three drug felony possessions Wednesday morning at his court arraignment.

The third charge for heroin was dropped, while the actor copped to two counts of cocaine and Ecstasy possession. In lieu of prison time, Gary will complete a 16-class drug treatment program, his lawyer announced.

"As a result of today’s proceedings, Gary has been given diversion," his lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, said. "He very much regrets what happened and he’s very embarrassed by what occurred, but he’s looking forward to moving on and getting back to work."

The 41-year-old was busted early morning on April 28 when he was found sleeping in his car parked on the wrong side of the road in Palm Springs, Calif. Upon searching, the arresting office discovered “suspected cocaine, heroin, Ecstasy, miscellaneous prescription drugs, and paraphernalia" on him.
