Madonna’s Brother: A-Rod Affair “Highly Unlikely”

July 14th, 2008

Christopher Ciccone, whose brutal tell-all on sister Madonna hits shelves tomorrow, has his issues with big sis, but he will be the first to defend allegations that she broke up Alex Rodriguez’s marriage.

"I think it’s highly unlikely," Christopher tells Good Morning America in a two-part interview. "Despite everything else, she’s still a Catholic girl."

Adding that he knows the New York Yankee from Miami, the 47-year-old believes the purely platonic relationship between the two stem from their affinity for kabbalah.

"I doubt this is actually an affair," he says. "I’m sure she had nothing to do with the breakup of their marriage. It seemed absurd to me, truly, I don’t believe it."

Last week, A-Rod’s wife Cynthia filed for divorce over his "affair of the heart" with Madonna.

While Christopher is friendly with Alex, the same can’t be said of his relationship with Guy Ritchie. Once tight with his sister — they had phone conversations every night before bed and every morning after waking up — Christopher reveals in Life with My Sister Madonna that the falling out between them was the result of her romance with the British director.

"Guy Ritchie pretty much happened to our relationship," he says. "The best way to get to my sister was to get into bed with her…the last person to speak to her at night has a lot of influence. We both couldn’t exist in the same hemisphere."

Christopher, who’s openly gay, even goes as far to suggest Guy may be homophobic, recalling an incident when he was helping the two redecorate their home.

"When it comes to selecting the wood for his closet, I show him 12 samples and he tells me that they all look ‘twee,’ using the word over and over," Christopher writes. "I get the message: I am gay and he doesn’t want the house to reflect my sexuality, which is hardly likely."

Despite their differences though, Christopher is wishing the couple the best during this media maelstrom and believes Madonna will pull through.

"I believe she’ll do what’s best for the family and her kids and I think she’ll do her best to maintain the marriage and keep it going," he says. "She’s not the kind of person to walk away."

C-Rod: ‘I Still Love Alex’

July 10th, 2008

Cynthia Rodriguez says that she still loves her cheating husband A-Rod, but that she had to leave him to prove she is not weak.

She told the New York Post that she walked out because the Yankee’s star arrogantly thought she would stand by him through his infidelities — and she was sick of being taken for granted.

But, while she said she will never go back to him, Cynthia promised she will still be there for Alex as a friend to pick up the pieces when he "cracks up".

C-Rod walked out on the All Star third-baseman last week after the rumor broke that he was having yet another affair — this time with Madonna.

Although Madonna has denied the affair, Cynthia filed divorce papers just days later.

Now she has told the newspaper that she made the heart-wrenching decision to leave her husband of seven years because he believed the marriage would never collapse, no matter what he did to hurt her — that he mistook "13 years of dedication for weakness."

She also said that she has to face up to the fact that A-Rod has been warped b super-stardom and that he is no longer the man she fell in love with.

But she says that one day he will come crashing back down to reality — and that it "will be an ugly thing" when it happens.

Cynthia has told her close friends that she will be there for him as a friend when he eventually does "crack up", because she can use her skills as a psychologist to help the father of her two children, Natasha, 3, and Ella, who is 11 weeks old.

She also admitted that her family is distraught about the split. "Mine’s a close-knit family," she said, "Never one one divorce on my side. My parents, aunts and uncles are devastated."

Madonna & Guy: More Trouble in Paradise

July 9th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

As rumors continue to whirpool around Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s marriage, namely that they’re headed for splitsville, the Material Girl has fired back in defense of her seven-year union, saying, "My husband and I are not getting a divorce. I have learned over the years not to take the accusations and false reports about me very seriously."

One of the most potent accusations is that Madonna has been having an affair with New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez. While her rep has confirmed that the two do know each other, Madonna insists that she and A-Rod are just friends.

Apparantly, that wasn’t enough to convince A-Rod’s wife, Cynthia Rodriguez,34, who on July 7, officially filed for divorce from her big-league husband of nearly six years, saying her marriage was "irretrievably broken" because of the baseball hero’s "extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct."

Although she will not be named outright in divorce papers, Madonna,49, was apparently the last straw for the troubled couple.

"[A-Rod's] relationship with Madonna was the latest situation in a series of events [that doomed their marriage]," Cynthia’s lawyer Maurice Kutner has said, referring to Alex’s alleged indiscretions.

As for her role in A-Rod’s divorce drama and his sudden interest in Kabbalah, the mother of Lourdes, 11, Rocco, 7, and David, 2, says, "I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankees game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study."

But a source close to the entertainer insists that the relationship may not be all that innocent.

"Madonna and Alex are having fun," the insider tells OK!. "She has ’sexy friends’ in New York, London and Los Angeles — and all over the world. I think her marriage has been over for almost two years now. She’s probably just not a one-man woman. The men in her life are adornments; her children are her real love."

Cynthia’s Revenge: Spending $100K on A-Rod’s Dime

July 8th, 2008

Cynthia Rodriguez has hit Alex where it hurts the most — his bank account.

Seeking revenge for A-Rod’s alleged affair with Madonna, Cynthia has charged $100,000 on the New York Yankee’s credit card, a pal reveals to the New York Daily News.

Since the news of the "affair of the heart" broke last week, Cynthia jetted off to the city of love — Paris, with their older daughter, Nathasha, 3, and her godparents, where she’s been "spending wildly."

"She’s been spending wildly," the pal tells the paper, adding that she splashed on spa treatments and that "she went to the best restaurants."

It wasn’t going to end there.

"She originally was going to head to Spain, where Lenny Kravitz was touring," the friend says.

The 35-year-old filed for divorce on Monday, alleging infidelity on the baseball star’s part. She is seeking primary custody of Natasha and 2-month-old Ella and has asked for child support and alimony as well.

A-Rod’s Wife Files Divorce Papers

July 7th, 2008

A-Rod’s wife has filed divorce papers that claim he has "emotionally abandoned" her and their two children.

Cynthia Rodriguez doesn’t mention Madonna by name in the legal documents.

But in the papers submitted to a Miami court, Cynthia says that she’s tried everything to save their marriage but that she can’t take his "extra marital affairs" any longer.

And now the relationship’s over Cynthia, who has been married to the Yankees third-baseman since November 2002, wants their mansion in Coral Gables, Florida, along with everything in it, plus her super-expensive Mayback car.

She also demands a share of everything that he’s made since they’ve been married — which would likely include a cut of the record-breaking $275million contract he signed last year — plus enough alimony to keep the children in the same "lavish lifestyle" that they are used to.

Cynthia says that she wants Alex to share the parental responsibility for Natasha, 3, and newborn Ella — but that it’s in the kids’ best interests for them to live with her permanently.

She also wants him to pay for health insurance, pay off "certain debts" that they have together and spring for part of the legal fees she racks up during the divorce proceedings.

The papers, filed in Miami today, read: "This is an action for dissolution of marriage, which is being filed only after the Petitioner has exhausted every effort to salvage the marriage of the parties.

"However, Alex has emotionally abandoned his wife and children and has left her with no choice but to divorce him."

"The marriage of the parties is irretrievably broken because of the husband’s extra marital affairs and other marital conduct," they add.

As OK! reported, the slugger has been getting close to Madonna — also rumored to be having problems in her marriage — recently.

Today the one of Cynthia’s lawyers, Maurice Kutner, told the New York Post, that the alledged affair with the Material Girl has been the "last straw".

"It’s caused her tremendous stress, and she’s doing the best she can to deal with it,"said the lawyer.

Madonna, also said to have been coaching A-Rod on the Kabbalah, has denied the tryst.

"I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez," she said in a statement. "I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study."

It has long been rumored in the NYC sports media that A-Rod has an eye for exotic dancers and only a little over a year ago, photographs of Alex out on the town with a Toronto stripper caused his wife to briefly vacate their Manhattan home.
