Whether he will be on the big-screen or the small-screen is yet to be determined, but it sounds like Dallas‘ J.R. Ewing will be brought back to life either way, the New York Times reports.

Students at Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, Tx, erupted into ear-splitting screams when, out of the blue, Will Smith and Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo walked into their gymnasium on Tuesday during a pep rally.
The rally was for the school’s state-bound volleyball team and bi-district champion football team. Smith, who was in town to promote his new film Seven Pounds, decided to stop by and surprise the students, telling them it was his first visit to a high school "in years."
Smith and Romo walked to the center of the gym, where the I Am Legend star asked Romo, "How’s the pinkie?" He then gave the students a inspirational pep talk, recounting what mentor Quincey Jones told him when he was first starting out.
"He told me you have to be fearless….fearless and relentless," Smith told the crowd of screaming teens. Romo, who dates Jessica Simpson, talked about the doubts he had trying to make it as a free agent and becoming the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
Just before the duo left, Smith had one more message: "Every single day of your life, I want you to make somebody better," he said.
They left to a rousing ovation, as the marching band played one of Smith’s R&B hits.
Although the visit was supposed to be a surprise, word had leaked that Romo and someone else would be at the pep rally.
As a group of women (probably football players’ mothers) walked out of the gym, I overheard one of them say, "I thought it would be Tony and Jessica. This was even better!"
On Monday’s edition of Good Day New York, football star RW McQuarters of the New York Giants stopped by to discuss his upcoming playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys, so the conversation turned, of course, to that team’s hunky quarterback, Jessica Simpson’s love du jour, Tony Romo.
While RW tried to play it straight, with his strategy on how to defeat Tony, who had his worst day ever in December when Jessica showed up to a Cowboys game wearing a pink Jersey, co-host Jodi Applegate couldn’t resist going there. Her advice? "We just have to get Jessica Simpson to distract Tony and keep him up really late. Maybe have him pull something….or throw out his back."
After her magnificent, Oscar-worthy turn in 2005’s House of Wax, sources close to Paris Hilton tell OK! that she’s desperate to return to the silver screen to share her special something with audiences once more — and this time, the million-heiress is gunning for a part in the stalled film version of the 1980s TV hit Dallas.
“Paris is pretty eager to get into the film,” one insider reveals to OK! “She’s having her manager and even friends pull favors just to get her an audition.” According to the insider, Paris, 26, is certain that — despite online reports that it’s already been locked up by upstart actress Katie Cassidy — she owns the part of Lucy Ewing, which was played in the original series by the inimitable Charlene Tilton.
“In her mind she’s already part of American royalty by being a Hilton,” explains the source. “So she thinks it will be perfect casting. She’s actually surprised the producers haven’t thought of this themselves!”
We here at OK! can’t wait to hear Paris’ particular take on the Texas twang.
