What’s it like competing on DWTS?
It’s scary. We’re pushing our bodies to the limit. I had no idea what I was getting into. I’ve never felt this sore! I’ve been getting massages and taking a lot of Epsom salt baths.
Did you expect to do this well?
No. Derek and are a great team. Fortunately, we’re able to communicate our feelings, which has made us stronger.
We’ve been doing well in the competition, but when the judges say I was born to dance and it looks so natural — none of this is coming naturally! I have a really hard time remembering the choreography, and it gets frustraing for Derek.
What do you do to keep fit?
I do Pilates and I walk. I try to eat five small, smart meals a day: sushi, salads, vegetables, clear soups. I have no idea what I weigh. I don’t even own a scale.
What’s it like being a mom of four?
It’s a little bit chaotic at times, but it’s about balancing that chaos and setting priorities.
Did you know your fiancé, David, was the one when you met him?
I knew the moment that I saw him, yeah, but it took us years to figure it out. We met in Mexico at a charity event and we had a love affair 15 years ago — it was very romantic!
How did you get engaged?
He threw a surprise engagement party when I was pregnant with Rain. He popped the question before the guests arrived. It was very sweet. There were white roses everywhere, and everybody came dressed in white.
Why haven’t you married yet?
We haven’t had a chance. We had two kids and built a house. But we’re so married. Everybody calls him my husband, and I never correct them.
Why do you and David click as a couple?
We know everything about each other and we want the same thing out of life. It’s a very safe, trusting relationship.
Will you have more kids together?
I feel like my family is completem and they all need so much right now. I’ve had great pregnancies, and healthy, beautiful children. It would almost feel greedy to keep going, but I never say never. David would say yes, there’s more to come!
Brooke Burke Names Her Son
March 31st, 2008
“Baby boy Charvet” no more!
Nearly a month after giving birth to her son, Brooke Burke and her fiancé David Charvet have finally settled on a name for the little fella: Shaya.
“You heard it here first! We have finally settled on a name," the model-turned-actress writes on her Baboosh blog. "We waited our whole lives for our son, and couldn’t find the perfect fit. Poor guy! Now it’s official. Shaya Charvet. We played with so many different names, and both loved Shaya the most. It means God’s gift in Hebrew."
Still undecided though is Shaya’s middle name, but the couple is slowly making progress.
“David came up with a middle name, Braven, which I really like. I want to give him part of my name too, so I am thinking about double Bs in the middle like my initials, Braven-Burke.”
Shaya was born on March 5 and joins big sisters Neriah, 7, Sierra, 5, Brooke’s daughters from her first marriage to plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher, and Heaven Rain, her 1-year-old with David. Being the first boy will guarantee Shaya some extra atttention, the 36-year-old adds.
“He is the last Charvet to carry on David’s family name. He is also the first boy in David’s family, the little brother of three princesses, and my youngest. Ya think he is gonna be spoiled?!?! We haven’t agreed on the middle name yet, but for all those who have been asking, Shaya Charvet it is!”

The actress gave birth to a son on Wednesday, March 5 in Los Angeles.
No name has been released yet.
The tyke, who weight 6.5 pounds and measured 20 1/4 inches, is the second child for the couple, and the first boy and fourth child overall for Brooke.

Blogging throughout her pregnancy on her site Baboosh, the 36-year-old revealed she was placed on bedrest last month in preparation for the birth.
"Being on bedrest has actually forced me to slow down, be still and look inside me a bit more than usual," she wrote. "I have actually enjoyed the quiet moments I have been forced to take to connect with my son."
Brooke and David, best known for his stint on Baywatch, have been engaged since August 2006.
A Little Absinthe
October 3rd, 2007
At 6am tomorrow morning, I’ll be en-route to Antigua to join "Celebrity couples in the Caribbean where they will attend the grand opening of the Mediterranean Village at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa." Among the guests slated to attend the soiree at this romantic paradise are hot new couple Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou, soon-to-be married Brooke Burke and David Charvet, Dancing with the Stars alum Stacy Keibler and her TV star boyfriend Geoff Stults…Me, and my little sister. No snogging at sunset for me – but I should be in for some rest, relaxation and entertainment – and my sister will get the first stamp in her passport.
In preparation for my flight, I’m irresponsibly attending a launch party tonight for a new-to-the-market and newly legal category of alcohol- absinthe! Absinthe has been banned in the states for nearly a century, but apparently restrictions were recently lifted. Never one to shy away from a new alcoholic concoction, I got an advance taste of Lucid Absinthe Superieure and have to admit I was a fan. After a couple, I definitely felt a little but found the subtle licorice flavor of Lucid on the rocks refreshing.
When a bottle was sent to me a few weeks later, and I poured it over ice at home the fumes could have cleared a room. Holding on to the memories of how much I liked it the first time I took a sip and think I may have singed my insides! I’ve since learned my previous cocktail was mixed with water and probably a dash of sugar, how I’ll try it again tonight. You can get more information, and purchase your own bottle if you dare at www.drinklucid.com.
