DVR THIS: Dear Prudence

August 22nd, 2008

Jane Seymour does some serious smooching with a guy half her age in her new movie Dear Prudence.

But as she tells the TV Fanatic, it’s all in the name of good detective work.

Playing an overworked advice columnist who’s forced on vacation by her boss, Prudence, played by Jane, fills up her free time trying to solve a murder.

She gets a little help from her colleague Nigel (played by cutie British newcomer Ryan Cartwright.)

The May-December liplock happens while the detecting duo is staking out a motel.

“I suddenly grab him kiss him full throttle as a cleaning lady comes by,” says Jane, explaining that Prudence engages in the kiss to help them keep a low profile.

“When Nigel asks isn’t it out of place to be kissing me in the middle of the day, I tell him not in front of a motel,” Jane laughs.

While there’s nothing going on between Prudence and Nigel, Jane says the sparks do fly between Prudence and a local police officer, played by Law & Order: Criminal Intent alum Jamey Sheridan.

“There is a bit of romance,” she teases.

Jane so loved her A-type, over-the-top alter screen-ego, she’s ready to sign the dotted line to launch a Dear Prudence movie franchise.

“[The producers] have already asked me about it,” she confesses. “I love the character. She’s definitely a lot of fun.”

Dear Prudence premieres Saturday, Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel.

Jane Seymour’s Adivce for Angelina

July 8th, 2008

TV icon Jane Seymour, who once gave birth to twins and is the mother of six, has some advice for Angelina Jolie.

"My advice to her is to put some weight on," the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman star told OK!. "I think she needs to keep putting on weight so she can feed those babies. I don’t think she should think twice. She hasn’t put on enough weight."

Jolie, whose film Wanted is in theaters now, will soon be mother to six children herself when she gives birth to her twins with Brad Pitt.

Seymour,57, says that when she had her twins, John and Kristopher, in 1995, it was a life threatening delivery.

"I nearly died having the twins," she recalled. "I had preclampsia, which is toxemia, and I had to have an emergency C-section and I almost lost my life. So my advice to her [Jolie] is to listen to your doctors and if they say bed rest and they say blood pressure cuff every hour and they say whatever medication they say, you should take it very seriously."

The Dancing with the Stars alum, who was promoting her upcoming Hallmark Channel TV movie Dear Prudence at the Television Critics Association Event in L.A. on Tuesday, has four biological children as well as two stepchildren with husband James Keach. She told OK! six kids is definitely a handful.

They "need me every day," she laughed.
