Drew, Justin Make ‘Grey Gardens’

Justin Long waves off questions with a smile before on/off girlfriend Drew Barrymore vamps it up for her Grey Gardens premiere held Tuesday at NYC’s Ziegfeld Theater.
“I think right now in the world of ?fashion things are safe,” the Alberta Ferretti-clad star, 34, says. “What people wear on the red carpet? as opposed to the runway at a fashion designer show – there’s just a? massive discrepancy there. And the sad part is that people get people get annihilated if people don’t like what they’re wearing, so then they dress so that people do not get annihilated and then that’s boring.”
She adds, “I don’t care what people say. I want to have fun with fashion.”

Darling Drew plays Little Edie in the HBO biopic about the eccentric aunt (Jessica Lange) and first cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. They withdrew from NYC society by taking shelter at their Long Island home.
What would Little Edie say of her portrayal?
“I only care about if she thinks that I did right by her,” Drew says. “I went away for three months, and I cut off myself from the rest of the world to literally understand what really being isolated is like. To not be in the world of technology, to not have friends and family surrounding me, and I just kept thinking ‘I just want to honor you, I just want to honor you.’”
She adds, “I think one of my favorite things about her is her lack of sensoring – and maybe it’s a character flaw – but I find it wonderful that she’s not afraid to show her emotions. She’s not afraid to be childlike, she’s not afraid to be angry, she’s not afraid to be vulnerable and quiet and calm and sad, and to have that level of range was interesting.”
Why did she lock herself away?
“I have love all around me,” Drew explains. “It was important for me to understand what it’s like to be lonely and not have love, but luckily I had one person … I had the love of my life [kisses Jessica Lange].
Drew admits “I’ve never been so terrified in my life” about pulling off the prosthetic face she wears in the film.

Jeanne Tripplehorn portrays Jackie O. “I locked myself away and watched movies and looked at images and documentaries and tried to marinate in her,” she says of her research.

Lindsay Gets Her Hair Did… Again

While just about everyone else is telling a different story, Lindsay Lohan has been claiming she dumped girlfriend Samantha Ronson so she could focus on herself. Thus far, however, all that LiLo’s been "focusing" on is pampering herself with 3 a.m. tattoos, having sushi with her siblings and dyeing her hair from blonde to red to… who knows?
On Thursday, La Lohan made her second visit in as many days to her new fave salon, Byron & Tracey, and left with locks that were yet another mystery color.
Joining Linds in the private back room of the Beverly Hills salon was her little sis Ali Lohan and actress Drew Barrymore, who knows a thing or two about changing her hair color and, more importantly, about the ordeals of transitioning from adorable child star to troubled teen to Hollywood success story. We can only hope Drew imparted some sage advice to Lindsay, who still seems stuck in that nettlesome middle stage.
"Lindsay seemed really mellow and relaxed," one eyewitness inside Byron & Tracey tells OK!. "She was clearly unfazed by the swarm of paparazzi and police outside."
Adds the source, "She had her little sister on ‘paparazzi patrol,’ monitoring the back door every 10 minutes to see how many guys were outside. I actually think she liked the attention!"
The elite salon, also favored by A-listers Cameron Diaz and Nicole Richie, closed its doors to the public for Lindsay, Drew and Ali. Staffers covered the windows with black paper and guarded all doors while the three primped and coiffed. They also nibbled on junk food delivered from a nearby drive-thru.
Earlier on Thursday, the 22-year-old took one of her many weekly trips to her lawyer’s office in Century City, Calif. Though it’s anyone guess which of her many pending cases — her DUI? her probation violation charge? — were being discussed. Perhaps they were just discussing how difficult it is to dye a bad weave?

Drew Barrymore: The Recluse?

Are we about to see a very different side of Drew Barrymore?
The legendary party girl says that she has stopped talking to her friends, quit going out and generally "shut out the world."
The He’s Just Not That Into You star told Elle magazine that she’s tired of the "optimisic love stories" she’s been doing for the last 10 years, and that she’s reinventing herself as an intense method actor.
And the first movie to get the new Drew treatment is the upcoming HBO drama Grey Gardens, in which she does a drastic reinterpretation of the character Little Edie.
She told the May issue that when she met with an exec before the project began, they were stunned by what that blond from the Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates brought to the table.
"He started looking through my binder, and I saw his demeanor change, actually noticing all the hard work I had put into it. So I just put it out there.
"I said, ‘Look – I have all of this inside of me, and I promise you that I will change my face to be her. I will learn how to stop talking out of the side of my mouth. I will go to school to relearn body language. I will shut out the world. I will not talk to my friends. I will give up my life for this, because I don’t think you can play this character and have a social life and balance the two mentalities. I won’t act. I’ll become this person.’”
Drew also said that she split with long-term boyfriend, Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, in 2007 because one day she felt: "I have to be on my own".
But isn’t this taking things a little far, Drew?
And does this whole hermit thing explain why things weren’t going so smoothly with Justin Long a few months back.

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long are giving love a second try. The duo was spotted enjoying lunch at L.A.’s Farmers Market on March 26 before “packing up their leftovers to go, just like an old married couple,” an eyewitness tells OK!.
Drew, 34, and Justin, 30, dated for a year before breaking up last July.
“They ran into each other in mid-March and the chemistry was still there,” a source says. “Neither is sure where the relationship is headed but they both felt it was important to give it another shot.”
The chemistry was so much there that the duo were spotted making out at Bar Marmont earlier this month, which seemed to mark the beginning of their sweet reunion.

Is Drew Barrymore Into Justin Long Again?

Drew Barrymore may once again be into her ex-boyfriend Justin Long.
According to reports, the He’s Not That Into You star was spotted at Bar Marmont Sunday night having beer and making out with the Apple guy.
On Monday night, however, Justin took a break from his on-again ladylove as he made it a boy’s night out with some of Hollywood’s funny guys at the Sunset Tower Bar.
Justin had dinner with the newly announced MTV Movie Awards 2009 host Andy Samberg, Superbad’s Jonah Hill, and a couple other friends.
The group had a late night dinner on the patio at the Sunset Tower Hotel overlooking the city. While waiting for their cars to be pulled around by the valet after dinner, the group entertained the idea of going across the street to Saddle Ranch.
“I want to ride the bull,” Jonah said. “Oh yeah, or get on the stripper pole!”
Andy followed up by doing some funny hip thrust dance movements as the group chuckled. He acted as the party enabler, bringing up the idea of going to a bar as he pulled it up on his BlackBerry.
Everyone – except for Justin – agreed to continue their night out. He said he was going home, and wished Andy luck (perhaps for his new hosting gig?) as he gave him a side bro hug. He told him, “thanks for dinner tonight.”
Drew’s once-again boytoy said goodbye to the group as he continued to check his BlackBerry. Perhaps Justin has his own personal “Whip it!” waiting for him back at home to top off his night.
