Julia Roberts Cherishes Motherhood

March 17th, 2009

Twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 4, and son Henry, 1, must be accustomed to their Oscar-winning mom Julia Roberts bragging about them.

What’s the best thing about being a mom?

“My kids!” Julia, 41, beams during the premiere for her spy thriller Duplicity held Monday at Ziegfeld Theatre in NYC.

Julia, who has been married to Danny Moder, 40, since 2002, makes being with her family the most important thing in her life.

“I think everybody’s priorities shift after awhile,” Duplicity costar Denis O’Hare, who also worked with Julia in Charlie Wilson’s War, says. “She made a really hard choice to be with her family at one point, and then she missed the movies, and so she came back but she still has responsibilities for her kids, and she’s figuring out how to do that. I think she’s a great mom. She’s at ease, which is the hallmark of a great mom.”

He continues, “I feel like she’s integrated her life really beautifully. She’s figured out how to have a life in New York with her family, and also continued to be in movies, and that’s a really hard thing to pull off. She’s done it gracefully.”

Clive Owen, who has two daughters, also worked with Julia in 2004’s Closer.

“We had enormous fun before, and we enormous time again,” Clive says.

Duplicity is in theaters March 20.

Clive Owen’s Daughters Make Fun of Him

March 17th, 2009

Just because Clive Owen is a movie star doesn’t mean his family treats him like a king 24/7.

“Whenever I’ve done a movie and been away from home, I tend to take considerable downtime, and then we lead as normal of a life as we can,” the actor, 46, who has been married to wife Sarah-Jane Fenton since 1995, tells OK! at last night’s NYC premiere of his new film Duplicity, co-starring Julia Roberts. “I take the kids to school, Sarah-Jane and I hang out, go out in the evenings and do all the things you’d expect.”

His daughters, Hannah, 12, and Eve, 9, like to make sure dear ol’ dad doesn’t let his ego get too big.

“They send me texts like ‘Don’t wear the velvet jacket because it’s weird and embarrassing.’ They make me too self-conscious now, like ‘Oh, I’ve gotta go and get changed in the dark.’”

Wait, they don’t think he’s rugged and cool?

“They definitely don’t think that, no. They know me better than that.”

Despite the ribbing he gets from his kids, Clive enjoys taking them to the movies.

“I’ve literally seen every kids’ movie for the last eight years I think,” he says.

Julia Roberts: Don’t Call It A Comeback

March 16th, 2009

Just because Julia Roberts hasn’t appeared in a leading lady role since 2001 (America’s Sweethearts), don’t call her role in Duplicity a comeback – the mom of three says she feels plenty busy, thank you very much.

"Well, it doesn’t seem like that long ago that Charlie Wilson’s War came out, and then I have a movie [Fireflies in the Garden] coming out on Father’s Day, so I mean I feel busy," she tells Moviefone.com’s Inside/Movies. "I think somebody said that I made 13 movies in the past 6 years," including voiceovers for animated movies, which totally counts, Julia adds.

"Well work is work," she says. "If I leave my house to go to work, it’s work."

And Julia considers her time out of the spotlight as time well spent taking care of Phinnaeus, Hazel and Henry, her kids with hubby Danny Moder.

"Early on, I mean, I would take any job that was offered – not really," she quips. "But, yeah, I never quite had that kind of momentum in work that some people do. I admire it; I think I’m lazier than that."

Julia Roberts Goes Global

May 30th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie aren’t just inspirations to regular ol’ folk around the world. The A-list duo has the same impact on their superstar friends!

Taking a page out of her Ocean’s 11 co-star’s global child-rearing book, Julia Roberts is hoping to fill her children’s passports with as many stamps as possible as well.

“Julia wants them to be culture,” the actress’ pal tells OK!. “She and [husband] Danny [Moder] are looking into lessons for them to start speaking a second language.”

So far this year, the Moder family, which includes twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 3, and baby Henry, 23 months, has compiled a hefty number of mileages. Shooting her flick Duplicity — which re-pairs her with Closer co-star Clive Owen — alone has taken the clan to New York, the Bahamas and Rome.

But before they head elsewhere, Julia, 40, wants to spend some much-needed down time back home in Malibu.

“Julia loves traveling, but sometimes she says it’s good to be home in your own bed!” the friend says.

Julia & Danny’s Dazzling Dinner Date

May 7th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Julia Roberts took time out from being a mom and filming the thriller Duplicity to enjoy a date night with hubby, Danny Moder.

On April 25, the pair, who are parents to twins Hazel and Finn,3, and Henry,11 months, went to NYC’s Jane Restaurant, where eyewitnesses told OK!, "They dined in a cozy back corner" and enjoyed margaritas and gnocchi.

Patrons were cool as Julia,40, and Danny,39, enjoyed their dinner. But when the duo left, everyone grabbed their cell phones to tell their pals about their A-list sighting!

We know you’d do the same thing!
