Dying Jade Goody Nursed Imaginary Baby

March 31st, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

In a new, exclusive interview, the husband of recently deceased UK reality star Jade Goody has revealed intimate details of his wife’s tragic final days, including the fact that she nursed an imaginary baby in her arms.

As Jade spent her last mortal hours drifting in an out of consciousness, Jack Tweed slept on the floor in her room so he could be near her. "Sometimes Jade would wake up and think she was nursing a baby in her arms," he tells the UK edition of OK!. "She’d tell me to be quiet so I didn’t wake the baby. I used to go along with it and pretend to take the baby and call Jackiey [Budden, Goody's mother] in and pretend to give the baby to her… I’d then ask Jade whether she was okay and she’d say, ‘Yes that’s fine, now I can sleep.’"

Jade’s last words to Jack, whom she married only weeks earlier, were about pineapples, the only food she ate in the days leading up to her death on March 22, which was Mother’s Day in the UK.

Jack tells OK! that Jade had left him nothing in her will, instead bequeathing all her money to her two sons, Bobby and Freddy.

"I never took anything from Jade and I don’t want anything from her now," he said. "I just want her. Jade asked me whether I wanted half the money from the wedding, but I said to give it to the boys because I wanted her to know they had a secure future."

On one occasion during her last week, Goody woke up and started singing. "The hardest part was seeing her suffering," Jack recalls. "I just wanted to make her better. I just want her to be here, I want to go on holiday with her and just muck about with her like we used to do."

Jade’s funeral is being held on Saturday.

Jade Goody’s Final Days

March 21st, 2009

Jade Goody has done the things she wanted to complete before dying of cervical cancer: As OK! reported with exclusive pics, the mother of two married her love, Jack Tweed, and then was christened days later, alongside her sons Bobby and Freddy.

And now as time runs out for the star, a rep describes her final days to OK! as spending time at home resting, surrounding by pictures from OK!’s magazine features on her wedding and christening ceremonies.

Jade left the hospital on March 14, in order to be home with her family and enjoy what time she has left in the peace and comfort of her family’s love. She and the boys had an early Mother’s Day, which is on March 21 in the U.K.

The boys were taken by their father, Jade’s ex-boyfriend Jeff Brazier, to bring flowers to their mom at home.

When Freddy asked his mom why she looked so drowsy, Jade replied, “Because the angels are calling for Mommy.”

Jade Goody Prepares Her Farewell

March 16th, 2009

Jade Goody’s family are today readying themselves for the end after the cancer-stricken star deteriorated over the weekend.

Yesterday, the former Big Brother contestant was visited at her home in Essex, England, by her young sons, Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4, as the U.K. OK! reports.

Her friend and publicist Max Clifford said: “She has put her house in order and faced up to everything in an incredibly brave way. Now we’re waiting for the inevitable, it could be at any time, we just don’t know.”

Although she was under sedation and spent much of Saturday and Sunday sleeping, she smiled when she saw her children and was “briefly conscious” of their presence, according to Clifford.

Jade’s mother Jackiey Budden and husband Jack Tweed were also at her bedside.

The family had been hoping for friends and loved ones to visit but the 27-year-old was not well enough.

Mr Clifford added: “She’s getting weaker, she’s fading, but she’s got a big heart which is probably why she’s still alive. We’re on the edge of a precipice, nobody knows when she’s going to step off, whether it will be five minutes or five days. But she’s where she wanted to be with the people she wanted to be with in her final hours.”

OK! Exclusive: Jade Goody’s Last Wishes

March 11th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Barely able to move or speak, British reality TV star Jade Goody, who has just weeks to live as cancer consumes her body, summoned her strength to have herself and her sons christened in London on March 7.

Despite being in great pain, Jade was determined to lay down spiritual foundations for herself and her boys, Bobby, 5, and 4-year-old Freddie.

“It was important for me and my boys to be christened, so that when I’m not here they feel they can speak to me whenever they want,” said Jade, 27. “I want my boys to know that when I do go, I am safe and looking over them.”

Here, Jade speaks to OK! in a brief excerpt from the exclusive interview in the new issue.

OK!: It must be terrible to know that you won’t see your sons grow up.
I’m devastated that I won’t see my boys grow into men and get married. That’s what moms dream of, isn’t it?

OK!: How do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as the one who irritated and entertained people in equal measure! But I also want to be remembered as the girl who put up a fight. I was given a death sentence, but I didn’t let it kill me. I fought it, got married, got christened. I’ve achieved more in 27 years than some achieve in their lifetime. I could bitch about dying young, but at the end of the day, I can look back on my life and be proud of what I have done.

OK! Exclusive: Barry Manilow “Not Sick”

July 16th, 2008

A recent tabloid report claiming legendary singer/songwriter Barry Manilow is ill and dying is absolutely false, his rep told OK! exclusively on Wednesday.

In a statement to OK!, Manilow’s rep said:

"We just saw a pretty outrageous headline on one of the tabloids claiming that Barry is ill and down to 100 pounds. Granted, he’s pretty trim. But 1oo pounds? Give us a break. Even Mary Kate and Ashley [Olsen] weigh more than 100 pounds. And no… he’s not ill.

What he is…is rehearsing for his new show in Las Vegas, recording his new album, recording an original rock album. Putting together an arena show and sometimes even enjoying the beach.

By the way…we also saw a headline that said aliens had invaded Pomona. That headline, of course, is true."
