While his ex-wife Angelina Jolie might already have half a dozen kids, Jonny Lee Miller is excited for his very first, due any day now.
"Having a kid, that’s it, really," he says of the most exciting part of impending fatherhood.
The newly-married Eli Stone star, who wed actress Michele Hicks last July, knows where to give credit where credit is due, giving props to his wife’s role in their growing family.
"She’s tough," Jonny bragged to OK! last night at the Paley Center for Media Presents the Dream World of Eli Stone in Beverly Hills. "I thought that already, but I think it even more now."
Maybe Angelina can give the new parents a few tips – the mother of six has said she stays friendly with all her exes, including Jonny. The two were married for only a year before separating.
Following her whirlwind romance, pregnancy and marriage to Tom Cruise, many Hollywood insiders wondered if Katie Holmes‘ career could ever recover from more than two years off work. But if you listen to the stars of ABC’s Eli Stone, on which the former Dawson’s Creek actress will guest star on Tuesday night, Katie is more than Suri’s mom.
"Working with Katie was great," says show star Jonny Lee Miller to OK!. "It was fantastic. She was a really nice person to have around.??.. She’s a phenomenal actress."
And Jonny knows a thing or two about talented young actresses, having been briefly married to Angelina Jolie early in both of their careers.

Jonny’s feelings are echoed by another of Katie’s Eli Stone co-stars, Natasha Henstridge. "She’s just a star," Natasha tells OK!. "Everyone loved working with her.????.. She’s wonderfully talented and I think people forget a little bit. So much of the buzz was about her being married that you forget how talented she is.??"
In her role on Eli Stone, Katie looks sexy and svelte in black tights and a leotard, with her pageboy hair teased and flipped a la 1920s Chicago, as she sings and dances her way through the role of a dream girl who turns out to be a real-life heartbreaker.

"Katie’s a sweet girl," says actress Julie Gonzalo. "I didn’t see any of what you read in the papers. She’s sweet and normal. She brought her husband and daughter with her to set."

For her three-episode arc on Eli Stone, Taraji P. Henson will portray Angela, a frustrated student, the TV Fanatic has learned.
“She used to take jazz and ballet, but her mom forced her to be a medical student,” Taraji revealed at an intimate gathering for her new Tyler Perry film, The Family That Preys, which opens tomorrow.
Mom is Eli Stone regular Loretta Devine. Needless to say, Angela’s got problems.
“I’m a little dysfunctional,” says Taraji. “You’ll see.”
The actress will also be getting all hot and bothered with Keith Bennett (played Jason George) during her run. Lucky girl!
While Taraji won’t get to sing on the series that often breaks out into song, she will get to dance.
Looks like those classes will pay off.
Eli Stone returns on Tuesday, Oct 14 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
Ballroom-kicking it freestyle with Dancing With the Stars’ Derek Hough.
What a way to start my first Television Critics Association conference, held this year at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
I was barely off the plane and checked into the hotel before I found myself chatting up Eli Stone’s Loretta Devine. That story in a minute. Let’s get back to Derek.
ABC threw a dinner and dancing party with the DWTS’ pros. Ballroom husband and wife Alec Mazo and Edyta Sliwinska lead eager journalists through some basic steps. I was standing directly in front of Derek, so he took me on as his partner.
I’ve taken a few dance lessons in my lifetime. And I’m pretty good at faking what I don’t know. Derek must have seen something in my skills.
After cha cha-ing through the routine we had just learned, Alec yelled "freestyle." And suddenly I was sashaying, spinning and swirling in Derek’s capable hands.
We needed a grand finale, so Derek scooped me up off the floor and twirled me around several times before putting me back on the ground.
Let’s just say the dismount was a little dizzying.
While I’m pretty sure Derek and I would kill it on Dancing With the Celebrity Journalists, there’s a certain A-lister he’d love to teach a twirl or two to.
"Angelina Jolie," he told me after our show-stopping display. "I think any man on the planet would like to have her as a partner. She’s as hot as hell."
Shaking your booty would be a great way to drop the baby weight, Ange!
Back to Loretta… The Broadway vet (she was Lorrell in the original Broadway production of Dreamgirls, holla!), is getting a chance to sing on Eli Stone, the series about a lawyer who has musical prophecies. Loretta wants to do it even more, and she’d like to do it next to her dream guest star, Patti LaBelle!
Loretta’s ready to keep up her double duty on Grey’s Anatomy as Adele, who has rekindled her romance with her estranged husband, the Chief Dr. Richard Webber.
And that’s a good thing, according to the actress.
"James Pickens Jr. is a good kisser," she laughed.
I also listened to movie hunk Ashton Kutcher talk up his new reality game show Opportunity Knocks, and learned that Scrubs, which made the jump to ABC, will mostly likely see the exit of its star Zach Braff at the end of the season.
While Zach isn’t sure what he’s doing next, he does know what will happen to JD and Turk’s stuffed pet Rowdy.
"I’m getting him. I laid claim on Rowdy," he told me.
Not a bad first day at all!
Check back for my second day of TCA adventures tomorrow!
We’re starting to get some details about Katie Holmes’s upcoming return to the small screen in Eli Stone.
According to the executive producer, Katie will be playing an attorney in her first TV role since Dawon’s Creek — an attorney who sings and dances, apparently!
Greg Berlanti, who was Katie’s boss on the 90s teen phenomenon before it wrapped in 2003, admitted that he was so deperate for her to make her big comeback on his show that he pleaded with her to take the part.
"I begged her and she said ‘I’d love to’," he told reporters today, before admitting that he asked the Ice Storm star to do it because he knew it would send his ratings through the roof.
Berlanti revealed that she will appear in the edisode "a significant amount" as the lawyer.
But ABC president Steve McPherson spilled that Katie isn’t exactly going to behaving like your typical attorney!
"There’s actually some singing and dancing she does and she’s exquisit," he said.
McPherson even said that he had seen Katie doing a read-through of the script and that she was "fabulous".
Katie starting shooting the episode, which will be the second of the sophomore season, yesterday and is expected to be on set for the next few days.
It is set to air on October 21.
Jonny Lee Miller, who plays the title role on the show, said that he was over the moon about his newest cast-mate joining the show.
"It’s great for us," Jonny Lee Miller, who plays the title role on the show, told OK!.
"It’s really going to help us, apart from the fact that she’s extremely hard working and really, really nice person to have around the set."
It sounds like Katie years out of the industry haven’t turned her too soft for TV’s notoriously punishing schedule.
"We did 17 hours yesterday, most of her time was spent dancing and then we had a big long scene to do and she did not bat an eyelid," said Miller.
But when asked if his ex-wife Angelina Jolie would be the next A Lister to join the cast, he sounded less enthusiastic! "You’d have to call her, I’m afraid," he said.
This year Katie has made something of a career comeback after being pretty much a full-time mom to Suri since 2005.
January saw the release of Mad Money her first movie since Batman Begins, and next months she’ll be making her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons.
