Sir Elton John is one hip gift-giver!
When the 62-year-old music legend wanted to congratulate the teenage stars of his hit Broadway musical Billy Elliot, he knew exactly what to get – a Nintendo Wii!
"I wouldn’t use those in a million years," Elton admitted to OK! at the Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony on May 15 in NYC, where he celebrated his recent Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score. "But that’s what the kids love to play with. We wanted to get them something they wanted and that they would have fun with."
The "tiny dancers" definitely appreciated the gift. "I like the Super Smash Bros. Brawl (game)!" said Billy Elliot’s Trent Kowalik, 14, one of the three leads to receive the generous present from the five-time Grammy award-winning composer.
The motion-sensing Wii video game console made the youngsters feel right at home.
"This was my first Broadway show," Trent told OK!. "So it was a big step for me being a normal kid and going to do a Broadway show."
And oh yeah, besides the Wii, the teen actor has something else to be excited about – his Tony Award nomination!

When it came time for wisecracking tough-guy rapper Eminem to kick his addictions to the curb, he looked to an unlikely source for help — music legend Elton John.
"I came home from the hospital the second time and I realized that I was giving up drugs forever," Eminem reveals in the June/July issue of Vibe. "I reached out to Elton ’cause I knew he had a problem before."
Em says that he and Elton had kept in touch since performing together at the Grammys years earlier. "I knew he was in recovery and I just wanted to reach out to somebody who was on the same level as far as fame," he explains. "He was really supportive, and still is to this day."
According to Eminem, the Philadelphia Freedom singer advised him to not leap back into stressful performing situations that might cause the rapper to relapse. "There was a Nelson Mandela thing that I was rumored to go to and I had just got out of the hospital. He was like, ‘Don’t do it. Do not do it,’" he recalls. "But I didn’t want to disappoint anybody. He talked me out of doing it. He was like, ‘I’m telling you you’re gonna get over there and you’re gonna wanna use. Don’t do it, it’s too early. You don’t even have enough clean time under your belt.’"
And Elton wasn’t just there to advise on the big things; he took an active interest in Em’s sobriety. "He called a lot. A few times a week," says Eminem. "Checked in to see how I was doing and shit. He knew how hard it was in the beginning for him to quit."

Let’s face it, Lily Allen and Elton John were both born to bitch.
So when they started trading insults while presenting the GQ Awards in London Tuesday, it was a little hard to figure out if they were for real — especially since Lily had had clearly had a glass of champagne or two.
Some reporters even wrote that there was a feud brewing over it, but today the Smile star set the record straight on her MySpace blog — and she says everything is alright still between the stars.
"Now it’s all died down i’m saying my side of what I can’t believe is considered to be a story.
"Elton john and I are friends. I was honoured when Elton asked me to present the GQ awards with him this year in association with Elton’s AIDS foundation.
"Not only was it for a good cause but who would say no to Elton.
"I’m not defending my drunkeness because i don’t need to, i’m 23 it was an awards ceremony i drank the free champagne, how awful of me.
"Trying to create a feud on the other hand, and trying to make me out as being some rude little girl with a drink problem is just unfair, Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all, in fact neither of us gave it a second thought."
And as for the rumor that her brother Alfie and his girlfriend Jamie Winstone were furious after she announced that they were engaged during the show?
"Alfie and Jamie had never been engaged, Jamie and I are the best of friends and I was just winding Alfie up , he’s my little brother and that’s what siblings do.
"Jamie wasn’t p***ed off with me, if she was i would have known about it, believe me."
