Heidi Klum Solves the Great Project Runway Mystery
February 20th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff
We gossips love a good mystery – and Project Runway provided one recently.
Because of behind-the-scenes legal battles, they’re taping the whole season of the hit reality show before airing the first episode.
But when Fashion Week schedules were published, the PR runway show – which usually shows the finalists’ clothes – was on there as usual.
Huh? So whose clothes were they going to show, and how are they going to keep the finalists’ identities secret once big-mouth reporters (don’t look at us!) have seen them in the runway show?
Wonder no longer. We got the answer direct from Runway host, Heidi Klum, backstage at the Michael Kors show.
"We’re having the show on Friday," she told OK!. “Every year we have the same thing – so we always show about seven or eight designers because the audience otherwise would always know."
More of an issue, she said, is that the budding designers won’t get as much exposure as previous contestants have.
“It is sad for the designers because they’ve really worked their butts off for so many weeks being on the show. And normally, you know, this is their moment. That’s why they’re here, because they want to get the recognition at Fashion Week.”
She continues, “Unfortunately, on Friday it won’t have that big of an impact for them, because people are not going to be rooting for them because they don’t know them.”
OK! Exclusive: Mark Indelicato’s Fashion Week Diary
February 17th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff
As a special treat for NY Fashion Week, Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato has volunteered to take OK!’s readers inside the exclusive, celeb-filled shows and share his personal thoughts and photos!
Tuesday, Feb. 17:
This morning I woke up early and went to Badgley Mischka. They were on Ugly Betty before but I didn’t get to meet them so I was looking forward to this. It was definitely my favorite show so far. Christian Siriano will have to really wow me to top this since it’s the only show I have left to go to!

(me with Mark Badgley and James Mischka)
I was with my friend Mia this time. I like to bring my friends to these things because it’s not only fun but — between work and school and family — it’s somtimes tough for me to see my friends.

(with Mia at Badgley Mischka)
So we entered through the backstage and were brought right to the designers. I couldn’t believe how calm and collected they seemed just minutes before their big show!
After that we went to our front row seats, passing some Kardashians, cast members of 90210, Kellie Pickler and then sat next to Kat DeLuna. We took some fun photos together and then the show started.
I wish they made a men’s line. Everything was beautiful. When the show was over we went backstage one more time to take some more photos, took a peek in the W Lounge, where they hooked me and Mia up with some sweet sunglasses, and then left for some breakfast.

(talking to some TV reporters between shows)
In the evening, I headed back to my new home away from home, Bryant Park, to help host a story for the Associated Press. We went up to the American Express Skybox where I got to interview stylist Kate Nobelius. The lounge is neat because you can watch shows from a birds eyeview. I really liked the orange couches Jonathan Adler used to design it in there.

Then I headed backstage to interview Max Azria. He is such a nice person. When he found out how old I was — and it’s so close to his daughter’s age — he got so excited and offered to give me her information to have lunch the next time I’m in L.A.
After fighting through the crowd of paparazzi surrounding Alicia Keys, Tinsley Mortimer, Joy Bryant, Rachel Bilson, Rob Thomas and others, I got to my seat and enjoyed the show.

Monday, Feb. 16:
Today was another great day! We got started by checking out the Z Zegna show, where I sat next to Tyrese. I really enjoyed the collection, and I was especially impressed by the outerwear and sweaters I saw. The show itself was very cool — they slicked down the runway with water and spritzed all the models so it looked like they’d just come in from out of the rain! After the show, I had the chance to actually head backstage to meet the designer, which was very cool.
Then I headed across the street to the alice + oliva store, where I met actress Byrdie Bell, who was sweet enough to stop and pose for a pic with me, and also ran into Julia Stiles, Kristen Bell, Paris Hilton and her sister Nicky.

(me & Byrdie at alice + oliva)
It was cute — they had Byrdie and some other girls walking around showing off the clothes, but it was super crowded and I had to run back to the tents to check out Justin Timberlake’s William Rast show, so I couldn’t stay long.
Speaking of William Rast, the show was a lot of fun! I sat across from his girlfriend, Jessica Biel, who was so interested in the clothes… it was nice to see. I got to sit with my fellow Ugly Betty cast member, Becki Newton, and the editors from Elle.

We all enjoyed the show a lot. Unfortunately, it was such a madhouse backstage afterward that I decided to just head on home and rest up for tomorrow. On my way out, I met a bunch of fans, which is always so nice!
Friday, Feb. 13:
Kicked off Fashion Week by checking out some shows with my friend Hannah from school. He was with his school friend Hannah Ammon.

We’d barely gotten started when we bumped into Jack Mackenroth from Project Runway:
Turns out he’s just as much an Ugly Betty fan as I am of him!
After chatting and taking some pics with Jack, we all headed in to see the Duckie Brown show, where Hannah and I got to sit in the front row. There were a few things I spotted during the show that I’m putting on my shopping list for the fall!
Of course, I know you don’t always need to spend a ton of money to be stylish. I was very proud to show off my Hanes V-neck white tee, not to mention by trusty pair of Chuck Taylors!
I can’t wait for all the shows coming up in the next week, and to share them all with you!
“No Injuries” says J Lo’s Trainer
September 12th, 2008
At the opening of the Project Runway finalists’ show in Bryant Park during Fashion Week in NYC Friday morning, Heidi Klum announced that the much buzzed about appearance by Jennifer Lopez as a guest judge on the season finale will not be happening.
"Jennifer Lopez was going to be our guest judge, [but she] cancelled yesterday due to a foot injury," Heidi told the audience.
Despite Heidi’s comments, Gunnar Petersen, Jennifer’s trainer, denies any mishap, telling OK! "No injuries, all good."
The show must go on, however, even as it changes networks and guest judges.
"A great five years at Bravo comes to an end today, thank you so much, you did a beautiful job putting the show on the network," she added, as the show is moving to Lifetime.
So if Jennifer is out, who’s stepping in?
None other than fashion guru Tim Gunn!
"I’m happy to fill in last minute and will be impartial and unbiased to the designers," said Tim.
Make it work!
Posh Judges Project Runway
February 8th, 2008
Even Posh Spice loves Project Runway!
After being escorted to her seat by the Prada-wearing Devil herself, Meryl Streep, Victoria Beckham was unveiled as the special guest judge for the final challenge of the Heidi Klum-led show during Fashion Week on Friday morning.
When the remaining five contestants finished showing off their collections, OK! caught up with Posh, 33, who was in awe of the budding designers’ talents.
"There’s so much talent and so much hard work in what we’ve just seen this morning," she says. "When the designers come out, their families are here. This is what they have worked so hard for, it’s just been great."
The fashionista has already made up her mind on who’s going to take the top prize. "For me, there’s one very clear designer that is the winner, in my eye," she says. "There’s one designer, that every single piece I saw come down this runway, I would wear myself."
Tune in to Project Runway Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on Bravo to catch all the action!

OK! Interview: Wilmer Valderramma
February 8th, 2008 / Author: cwillett
At a charity cocktail party hosted by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, OK! spoke with foundation ambassador Wilmer Valderramma who holds the charity close to his heart. He also discussed his upcoming films and that this Valentine’s Day he may be playing third wheel to Demi and Ashton. That is, if Ashton remembers to get him a birthday present!
How’d you get involved with the organization?
I feel blessed to be a part of something so classy and so fantastic. I was always looking for different charities to be a part of. I read the brochure and I really loved what they’re about which is promoting life after tragedy, which is so uplifting. It shows people there’s a second chance at life.
You have a bunch of movies coming out so you’re busy!
Later this summer you’ll hear about Columbus Day and Days of Wrath. Val Kilmer and I did it and Kevin Spacey produced it.
What’s it like working with Val?
It’s great. Everyone has this eccentric definition of who he is but it’s incredible to see how committed he was. Other than that, Val was great and to work along side Batman. It’s pretty neat!
In Days of Wrath I played my first bad guy — yes, I shaved my head naturally! It’s very dramatic stuff and ever since I did Fast Food Nation I’ve been involved in drama.
So, Valentine’s Day is coming up… are you dating anybody?
No, I’m not dating anybody! Another Valentine’s Day all by myself! Me and the boys eating chocolate ice cream. It’s all about the boys that night!
What are you getting Ashton for his birthday?
I don’t know! My birthday was last Wednesday and we’re gonna meet up next week. But I don’t know, I’m still waiting for my birthday present!
Maybe for Valentine’s Day? Oh wait, he’s married to Demi!
Yeah, yeah third wheel! Always the third wheel!
Speaking of love, Lindsay seems to be doing well.
I honestly haven’t really been following a lot of what’s happening. I support Lindsay and I still love her very much. I talk to her every once in a while. She’s a talented girl.
