Tyra’s Message to Top Model Hopefuls

March 16th, 2009

Tyra Banks is doing a little damage control following Saturday’s melee that resulted in six injuries and three arrests for disorderly conduct and inciting a riot during an audition for the next season of America’s Next Top Model in NYC.

In a statement, Banks, the show’s host and executive producer, said the following:

"To all the Top Model hopefuls who were affected by the New York casting, we are doing everything we can to make sure that ALL the girls who weren’t seen get an opportunity to audition - we’ll update you on our plans very soon. It is so important to me to redefine beauty, and make sure that everyone gets a fair chance to pursue their dream. I am beyond excited for Cycle 13; for the first time ever, young women 5′7" and under have a shot at becoming America’s Next Top Model! I encourage each girl to come out ready to rock the runway and show off their fiercest pose. I’m rooting for all of you!"

Chris Brown’s New Hearing

March 12th, 2009

In a new and mystifying move, Chris Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos has requested an additional hearing to be held prior to the scheduled April 6 arraignment, TMZ reports.

Speculation surrounding this March 23 mystery meeting revolves around Rihanna, and whether or not she’ll testify in the case.

The case has also officially been moved to L.A. County Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg, the judge who signed the search warrant. She’ll be the one in charge of the hearing in her chambers.

Woman Who Ignited Chris/Rihanna Fight Revealed

March 10th, 2009

TMZ is reporting that the woman who triggered the fight between Chris Brown and Rihanna by leaving a three-page text message on his phone is his manager, Tina Davis.

Tina, 39, and Chris were rumored to have had a sexual relationship when the singer was only 16, something both have denied; however, the detective’s affidavit refers to the text message as being "from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."

Police sources tell TMZ that the message from Davis talked about hooking up later, something Rihanna definitely didn’t like hearing, as she slapped and hit Chris. The fight then turned even more violent as Chris allegedly punched and bit Rihanna, as well as put her in a headlock.

Chris Brown’s Cousin Says He Was “Provoked”

February 12th, 2009

Chris Brown has maintained a low profile since his reported fight with Rihanna last Sunday. The same, however, can not be said for members of his family.

Earlier today, Brown’s stepdad spoke out denying that he had ever been abusive to Brown’s mother–something the singer vehemently disagreed with in a 2007 interview. And now, the R&B singer’s cousin has stepped forward, making a controversial claim to Extra.

In a new interview airing tonight, Phylicia Thompson says of her cousin, "Chris was not brought up to beat on a woman. So it had to be something to provoke him for Chris to do it."

Thompson continues, "He wouldn’t have done it just to be having fun…But what happens behind closed doors, nobody ever knows."

She says that Brown is feeling down in the dumps right now because of the media attention the incident has received.

"He might feel down right now because his fans are looking down on him, like he’s done something wrong," says Thompson. "Of course, yes, he’s done something wrong because he put his hands on her, but like I said, you don’t know what happened. He had to be provoked to do it. Chris would never have done it."

Thompson, who last saw Brown in April 2008, adds, "Everybody loved Chris. This comes as a surprise to me. He was never a troubled child."

Growing up with Brown, Thompson admits, "It was fun. Me and Chris were close in age. He practically lived with us..It was pretty cool growing up with Chris. We had so much fun. He was just an active child. He liked to dance. He liked to sing. He liked to play sports."

Did a Text Start Chris & Rihanna’s Fight?

February 11th, 2009

A text message sent to Chris Brown while he and girlfriend Rihanna drove home from Clive Davis’ party this weekend could have been the spark that started the fight between the two, the New York Daily News reports.

Law enforcement sources say that the message to Chris was from a woman and included something about hooking up with him later, which no doubt made Rihanna mad. The confrontation between the couple resulted in Rihanna allegedly being hit so hard her eyes would barely open for police photos, and Chris has been charged with making criminal threats.

But who could this mystery woman be? As OK! reported, Chris’ attention to Paris Hilton at a Feb. 6 party was the cause for some discord between the couple.

"He and Paris went outside together," a witness tells OK!. Back inside, they got closer. "Paris was all over him," the partygoer says. "Rihanna caught wind of it and spent the rest of the night glued to him."

Rihanna Reportedly Left Bloodied and Bruised

February 9th, 2009

It looks like the fight between Chris Brown and Rihanna was nastier than everyone thought.

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials said the "Umbrella" singer’s injuries were severe–two "huge contusions" which swelled up on both sides of her forehead. TMZ also reports that sources say she suffered "a bloody lip and nose."

One of the law enforcement sources told TMZ Rihanna’s contusions "look like an MMA fighter or something…[It] looked like she was growing devil’s horns."

Rihanna also reportedly may have suffered bite wounds on one of her legs and arms. One source close to the situation, however, says he doubts that is the case.

Chris Brown has been booked on a felony criminal threats charge. If the D.A. files the case, domestic violence charges could be added.

Nikki Blonsky Says “Success Is the Best Revenge!”

January 2nd, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Nikki Blonsky says she is forever changed by her arrest for assault – after an altercation with America’s Next Top Model alum Bianca Golden – at the Providenciales International Airport in Turks and Caicos last summer.

But Nikki, 20, isn’t letting the past get her down. The actress has a cameo on ABC’s Ugly Betty on Jan. 8 and will then reprise her role as Tracy Turnblad in the sequel to the hit movie Hairspray.

OK!: How tough was the summer for you?

It was such a traumatic experience. There is no lesson to be learned other than be careful and watch your surroundings. It’s made me a fearful person. The nightmares still go on. But in my heart, I and my family know the truth.

OK!: What have you learned from the fight?

I saw the dark side of the industry. I never knew there were people willing to do anything to get their name in the paper. It’s a shame that someone will ruin a person’s life and beat them up to get their 10 minutes of fame back. I think it’s disgusting.

OK!: How have you been coping?

We’re a strong family. The Ugly Betty cast has proven to me that there are good people in this business. Success is the best revenge.

OK!: Will Zac Efron and Amanda Bynes return in the Hairspray sequel?

Zac has said he’d love to do it again, and I know Brittany Snow is down for sure. I don’t know about Amanda. I hope she will. I want to put on my Tracy Turnblad wig again and dance my little heart out.

OK!: Any New Year’s resolutions?

Live my life and not let people get in the way.

OK!: Do you have a celebrity crush?

I’m not going to lie: Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl. I think he’s adorable!

SATC Showdown?

November 12th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

She caused tension among her costars by holding out on the Sex and the City movie, and now Kim Cattrall is causing trouble again — by confirming the sequel without
producer Sarah Jessica Parker’s say-so.

On Nov. 4, Kim announced to Spice Girl Mel B on British television, “Yes, there will be a sequel,” prompting Sarah Jessica to retaliate with a statement of her own two days later.

“I’m thrilled to know Kim is excited, but all the deals are not yet done,” the star, aka Carrie Bradshaw, told Access Hollywood.

But Kim’s announcement came as no surprise to her friends: “Kim told me this summer that she was doing another movie,” on-set photographer Steve Sands tells OK!. “They all know they’re stronger together than by themselves. How could they not do a sequel?”

As for the rumors that Sarah Jessica resented Kim’s popularity as the sex-obsessed Samantha Jones? “Things aren’t as bad as people think,” says Steve.

And co-star Mario Cantone scoffs at the notion that the divas were at war: “That stuff is crap. They get along great.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: No Post-Show Fight

November 2nd, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

The screaming, fights and tears reached new heights on the Oct. 23 episode of The View — culminating in rumors of a post-show fight between Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her liberal co-host Joy Behar. But the embattled Republican insists the women have “unconditional love for each other.”

“Everything is great off set,” Elisabeth told OK! at the Wall Street Boxing Charity Championship in NYC on Oct. 23. Denying reports that Joy verbally attacked her, Elisabeth adds, “It can get a little uncomfortable, and we’re not afraid to be that way.”

Tensions seemed to be running high lately for the ladies, especially with the election heating up in the last few weeks, but Joy echoes her co-host, telling Larry King on Oct. 26, “I’m so tired of saying we’re friends off the air, but it really is true.”
