While the U.S. is worrying over its own recession, the economy isn’t doing too well abroad, either, as workers take matters into their own hands in Paris.
Employees of Salma Hayek’s husband, French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, are not too happy with the chief executive of retail and luxury group PPR: workers facing layoffs at two of his stores blocked his car from leaving a meeting in Paris, Reuters reports.
"They briefly delayed Mr. Pinault’s car as he was leaving a company meeting," says a spokesperson. Riot police eventually came and cleared the road of protesters.

However the pint-sized one isn’t all bossy and dictatorial, as Salma reveals.
"She is unique, magical – definitely the most colorful person I’ve ever met," she gushes to the mag. "I feel so connected to her, but at the same time, we are completely different. I discover something new about her every day.”
Salma Hayek Calls Off Engagement

Salma Hayek has broken off her engagement with billionaire François-Henri Pinault, her rep has confirmed.
"We are sad to announce the engagement of Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault has been canceled," Salma’s rep tells USA Today. "There will be no further comment."
The couple welcomed daughter Valentina Paloma in September, six months after announcing their pregnancy and engagement.
The French-based François-Henri, CEO of fashion conglomerate PPR which has such labels as Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci under its belt, started dating the actress in 2006. In April, Salma asserted she didn’t feel any need to tie the knot yet, as the two were happy with their current lifestyle.
"You want to grow old with someone, you want to have a partner and to have children — we have all those things," she told Glamour.

It’s been nearly seven months since Salma Hayek gave birth to daughter Valentina, and the actress is still shocked at how much motherhood has changed her.
“I don’t even remember what my life was like before,” Salma tells Extra. “I can tell you that I don’t sleep. This is a cliché but it’s true. I haven’t slept in the last six months."
The 41-year-old gave birth to her first child with fiancé François-Henri Pinault
on Sept. 21 and has been focused on her little bundle of joy since. It’s only now that Salma is trying to re-acclimate herself with “real life.”
“I’m trying to get back to my life,” she says. “I’m trying to remember what it was because she is so beautiful and fun and amazing. It’s hard to look anywhere else.”
She adds, "The blessing of having a healthy child, I think is the best thing that can happen to anyone."

a baby girl into the world. The 41-year-old actress gave birth to her
first child, Valentina Paloma Pinault, on Friday, and Salma’s publicist said in a
statement that “Mother and child are doing well.” Along with mom’s beauty,
little Valentina should never want for style. Her dad is CEO of PPR, the luxury
goods company that owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.
