While the family shot down the idea of a public memorial and viewing for Michael Jackson at the Neverland Ranch, a time and place has finally been decided on to honor the fallen King of Pop.
MJ’s farwell service will be on Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at L.A.’s Staples Center. The program will simultaneously be broadcast at nearby Nokia Theatre to accommodate the thousands of fans sure to turn out to say good-bye to Michael.
More details of the service are still unclear at this time.
Funeral arrangements have reportedly been made for Jett Travolta.
According to TMZ, the 16-year-old son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston will be laid to rest on Thursday in Ocala, Florida. Jett’s body was cremated on Monday and flown back to Florida from the Bahamas the same day.
The service is not expected to be open to the public.
Jett died suddenly after suffering a seizure in the bathroom of his family’s vacation townhouse. He was discovered by the family nanny at 10am on Jan. 2 and pronounced dead just before noon at Rand Memorial Hospital. An autopsy revealed the boy had suffered a fatal seizure, although reports claimed he also hit his head on either the bathtub or toilet.
Although it was believed a private viewing would be held for Heath Ledger on Friday, OK! has learned it may not take place after all.
A source close to the New York City funeral home, which will remain unnamed out of respect to Heath and his family, tells OK! that the late actor’s viewing is not on the schedule.
“There is nothing on the schedule,” the source says. “There are two other funerals on the schedule, but nothing else.”
The source adds that perhaps Heath’s family is just coming in “to make arrangements to fly the body elsewhere, maybe to a memorial in L.A. or Australia.”
Heath’s family was expected to arrive in New York Friday morning, but they have yet to be seen at the home, a source reveals to OK!.
“There haven’t been any signs of his family,” the source says.
A rep for the Oscar-nominated star announced on Friday that arrangements would remain private and there were no plans for public viewings.
"At this time, we will not be releasing any information," the rep states. "There are no plans for a public service."
Heath’s body was transported to the funeral home on Wednesday following an inconclusive autopsy after he was found dead in his SoHo apartment on Tuesday.

While the rest of the world looks into the past of Dr. Jan Adams, the plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West’s mother Donda before her untimely death last weekend, Donda’s family is focused on making plans for her funeral, which will take place next Tuesday, Nov. 20, in Oklahoma City.
According to CelebTV.com, a rep for Howard-Harris Funeral Home in Oklahoma City has confirmed they will be the site for the ceremony in the town Donda called home as a girl. Meanwhile, plans are reportedly underway for a memorial service to be held in California later this week.
