Gary Coleman Pleads No Contest for Disorderly Conduct

December 2nd, 2008

Is it just us or does it seem like Gary Coleman is always getting into domestic disputes?

On Tuesday, the 40-year-old former star of 80’s sitcom Diff’rent Strokes pleaded no contest to a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a September incident involving a cell phone and a bowling alley.

According to court docs, Coleman, his wife Shannon Price, and his bodyguard were going bowling just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, when Colt Rushton started taking photos of the actor with his cell phone along with a few of Coleman’s truck in the parking lot.

Rushton’s lawyer says Coleman’s wife took Rushton’s cell phone away, a scuffle broke out and Coleman ended up ramming into Rushton with his truck as he was backing out of the parking lot.

Anyone heard of anger management?

Gary Coleman Sued

September 17th, 2008

It seems like the scandals just keep coming Gary Coleman’s way – after allegedly backing into a photo-seeking fan with his truck earlier this month, the Diff’rent Strokes actor is now being sued by the man, Colt Rushton.

The Insider obtained a copy of the lawsuit, to be filed later today, and also sat down with Rushton to discuss the incident. Rushton says he snapped a couple pictures of Gary and his wife Shannon Price at a bowling alley in Utah.

Then, Rushton says, a member of Gary’s party, Paul Rohbock, approached him and offered $20 for each picture. Rohbock then said that Rushton couldn’t take pictures without selling them.

As he exited the bowling alley, Rushton claims that he saw Gary’s car and took another photo, after which was "attacked, without warning, from behind by Price and/or Rohbock, who clawed his arm and grabbed his cell phone away from him."

He also claims that Gary himself hit him as well. Rushton says he offered to delete the photos, but Shannon refused to give his phone back, so he approaced the driver’s front fender. He says Coleman then "slammed the truck into reverse, swerved and swung the front of the truck into him, hitting him, throwing him to the ground and possibly running him over."??

Tune in to The Insider tonight for their exclusive one-on-one interview with Colt Rushton about the lawsuit.

Gary Coleman Hits Fan With Truck

September 8th, 2008

Gary Coleman went for a quiet night of bowling Saturday in Salt Lake City, Utah. However after a fan asked for a photo with the Diff’rent Strokes actor and was refused, a fight ensued in the parking lot of the bowling alley.

Gary, who was with wife Shannon Price, was allegedly unhappy over the man, Colt Rushton, taking the pictures, and got into his truck to leave. Then the diminutive 40-year-old actor backed his truck up, reportedly hitting the man and another vehicle as he left the parking lot.

While the photo-seeking fan was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries, neither he nor Gary have been arrested or charged in the incident.

Gary has a bit of a past when it comes fans he sees as aggressive: he was charged with assault in 1998 after punching a female autographer-seeker in the face who he said insulted him. In 1999 pleaded no contest to disturbing the peace during the incident.

Gary Coleman and Wife Head to ‘Divorce Court’

April 25th, 2008

Gary Coleman, who played adorable Arnold on the sitcom Diff’rent Strokes and more recently has been the face of the company,Cash Call, is opening up about his marital problems with his wife of seven months, Shannon Price.

Coleman sat down with ET, where he revealed that he and Price visited the show, Divorce Court, to help work out the kinks in their new marriage.

"We’re difficult people to figure out," Price says. "We’re sensitive one minute and stubborn the next. I have said to him (before), ‘Give me a divorce!’"

Gary admits his temper is an issue. "(Problems) build and then we don’t talk to each other for a week," he says. "It gets as bad as it needs to be to get her to listen. If I have to throw something or break something, that’s what’s going to happen."

Coleman adds that although he may break things around the house, he would never lay a hand on Shannon. "Stuff can be replaced. She cannot be replaced." He also insists, "I’m not a controlling husband. There’s no leash on her."

On whether the couple wants to have a baby, Gary says, "I promised her one. I just don’t know when it’s going to happen. I know that once I made that promise I committed myself to a life of hell because now I have to be a father. I have to make more money to take care of this second person. I’m not gonna want to be a daddy all the time. We don’t know what kind of child we are going to have. I’m hoping her genes are stronger than mine."

Shannon adds that their 18-year age difference has never been a factor in their marital problems. "Not a lot of people age as gracefully as he does," she says. "When I tell him he looks 12, it’s a compliment!"

For the entire two-part interview, tune in to ET tonight and Monday, April 28.

Gary Coleman Ties the Knot

February 12th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

In "better late than never" news, Gary Coleman married girlfriend Shannon Price on Aug. 28, 2007 — her 22nd birthday, he tells Inside Edition.

The secret ceremony took place on a mountaintop with nobody but "the minister, preacher, the videographers, the photographer, the helicopter pilot and us," Gary says.

The couple met on the set of Church Ball and the Diff’rent Strokes star confesses it was love at first sight.

"I never got the opportunity to be romantic or feel romantic with anyone," he says. "I wasn’t saving myself, she just happened to be the one."

Although there’s more than a foot difference between them in height (he stands at 4′8" while his bride is a bit over 5′7"), Shannon says it wasn’t and still isn’t a big issue in their relationship.

"He was 10 feet tall to me, because he was sweet and I really liked his personality."

Age makes no difference either as Gary, 40, says he’s more concerned with intelligence. But their age gap did play a factor in Shannon’s TV viewing.

"I didn’t grow up with Diff’rent Strokes," she says. "I actually didn’t like watching TV when I was younger."
