Happy birthday to Joel Madden! The Good Charlotte rocker, who turned the big 3-0, celebrated his milestone birthday with a huge bash atop the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood–courtesy of girlfriend Nicole Richie!
Celebuzz.com reports that the couple, who is expecting their second child, celebrated with more than 35 of their friends as the group packed the intimate tented terrace, which was closed off for the evening. The terrace–which has a stunning view of the L.A. lights–was presided over by discreet yet formidable security.
"There was a lot of laughing and even some speeches," one nearby diner noted of the party. "Nicole and Joel were nestled in the center of the big group and they looked as happy as they could be to be celebrating with their friends. They were beaming in the soft terrace lighting."
And they weren’t the only celebs eating out that night! Sharon Stone and Drew Barrymore chowed separately inside the Tower Bar restaurant while the rock-bash carried on outside.
The highlight of the evening was a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" accompanied by a massive birthday cake. "It was so big that I am surprised that thing didn’t set off the fire alarms," the diner noted.
