Brad & Zahara Trick No One

November 3rd, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Amidst all the fake Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie costumes floating around parties and trekking the streets gathering treats this Halloween weekend, there was only one Brad the Dad outfit that was 100 percent real!

Despite their family’s white-hot celebrity status, Papa Pitt, dressed to match daughter Zahara in a Jolly Green Giant get-up, went door-to-door with the less famous parent-child teams in L.A. on Friday, giving his tot the true trick-or-treating experience.

Zahara seemed to enjoy her one-on-one time with her dad, munching on candy and letting him do the hard work by carrying her from house to house.

Aubrey O’Day’s Dogtastic Halloween

October 31st, 2008

Aubrey O’Day and her dog Ginger are gearing up for Halloween.

“I’m going to be the Little Mermaid, and my dog Ginger’s going to be Sebastian,” the former Danity Kane singer, 24, tells me. “I have a crab costume made for her, and I’m going to dye her red with her little crab claws. I’m really excited about that.”

Wait, isn’t it dangerous to dye your dog?

“I use all-natural products,” Aubrey assures me. “My vet actually gave me the dye, so what I use is completely safe. I’m not sure what everybody else uses. But if you’re using what I use, it’s absolutely safe and fine for the animal. My dog actually likes it. If she had a fit about it, I wouldn’t do it, but she’s fine.”

Happy trick-or-treating!

Halloween With The Stars!

October 30th, 2008

Now we’ve been rooting through our closets for weeks digging out our most freaky and fabulous Halloween costumes, we had to find out what the stars are going to be getting up to on Friday.

Lance Bass and his Dancing With The Star partner Lacey Schwimmer tell us they’re going as their favorite High School Musical characters.

Lance is going to be Zac, Lacey is Vanessa and even Lance’s assistant Lisa DelCampo is getting in on the act, as Ashley Tisdale.

"We liked it because it’s a group costume and we can keep adding more people," said Lance.

Meanwhile, genuine Disney star Selena Gomez, says she’s dressing as one of her idols.

"I’m going to dress up as June Carter Cash," she says, adding that she’ll be going trick or treating with her BFF, Demi Lovato.

Pushing Daisies
star Kristin Chenoweth tells OK! that she and her younger man, Charlie McDowell, are opting for a more obvious costume.

"My boyfriend is much younger than me, and we want to go as Demi [Moore and Ashton [Kutcher]."

Then there’s the stars who take the chance not to put a costume on, but take one off, like Ice T’s glamour model wife Coco. "You think Coco likes to get naked… well Halloween. There’s going to be a lot of skin, she’s going to do her wild thing."

It sounds like Dina Lohan and her son Dakota didn’t have much choice in their Halloween plans.

"My neighbors just said we’re having a party at my house with all my twelve year old son’s friends," she told us.

Some stars seem to have discovered that you don’t have to dress up yourself to have fun on Halloween. Linsday Price is going give her dog a new look, while Fresh Prince star Tatayana Ali is going to dress up her grandmother instead!

"Linds is going to dress her King Charles cavalier puppy Ruby up as a Lady Bug," a friend of the Lipstick Jungle star tells us.

"We’re going to watch Hitchcock movies and play cards, and maybe cook," Tatyana says of her plans with granny.

"I might make her dress up!," she laughs.

And it sounds like some new moms and dads are getting excited about Halloween all over again, now that they get to dress up their kids.

"We’ll probably go to a party like we did last year," says Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford, who’s son Hermes just turned two, "where all the kids are and they have treats and all that stuff."

His outfit? A "beautiful handmade lion costume," we’re told.

"Last year my five year old was Little Red Riding Hood," says Fast Lane’s Peter Facinelli," and I was the Big Bad Wolf."

But some busy celebs, like Ugly Betty’s Becki Newton don’t have time to pick up a costume, so they’re finding less time-consuming ways to get into the Halloween spirit.

"I’m not really [dressing up], but I like the fall in general, like pumpkins, and I just went to William Sonoma today and got some pumpkin smelling candles."

And then there’s the ones who want nothing whatsoever to do with the whole thing, like newly married model, Beth Ostrosky Stern! "I hate Halloween. It scares me, ever since I was a child!"

Happy Halloween everybody!

Cops Come to Kate Hudson’s Party

October 28th, 2008

When cops show up at your party, you’ve got to hope they’re strippers. Unfortunately for Kate Hudson, the real police arrived at her pre-Halloween party early Sunday morning to move her party indoors. Apparently the party was too loud for neighbors, so the LAPD came to keep the noise down.

A source tells Page Six that Kate was a 60s flight attendant and son Ryder Robinson wasn’t in attendance. Fellow partygoers included Courteney Cox dressed as a witch with husband David Arquette as a warlock, Winona Ryder as a mouse, Rachel Zoe in a flapper costume and Cindy Crawford dolled up as Amy Winehouse.

According to the gossip page, Gerard Butler dressed as a sexy cowboy was the hottest ticket in town, with the source saying, "All the girls at the party were lining up to talk to Gerard… he left with two very sexy vampires."

Selena Gomez: I Still Go Trick-or-Treating!

October 24th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

While rising Disney star Selena Gomez might do things other 16-year-olds don’t get to do – like get dressed up and walk the red carpet at star-studded events  – she’s just like any other tween when it comes to Halloween.

"Yes, absolutely!" Selena told OK! when asked if she still goes trick-or-treating. "Me and my best friend Demi Lovato have a tradition that we’ve been doing ever since I can remember."

As for surprising fans who open their door to find two Disney stars on their doorsteps, the Wizards of Waverly Place actress says they have a way around getting recognized.

"We actually wear masks," she admitted to OK! at H&M’s preview of the Commes des Garcons collection in NYC last night, "so it’s so funny because people don’t even know we’re walking by them."

Wearing a mask might be kind of hard this year, as Selena says she’s dressing up as June Carter Cash. So, OK! wanted to know, does she have a Johnny Cash in mind?

"No, I wish I had a Johnny Cash! I really do, but I don’t have one!" the bubbly brunette confessed.

OK! Interview: Rob Zombie

December 13th, 2007 / Author: cwillett

So Christmas is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate a holiday as sentimental and heartwarming as it than by picking up Rob Zombie’s Halloween on DVD Tuesday. Right!? The film is Rob’s retelling of the classic John Carpenter horror film. OK! spoke with the musician/director about the movie, Christmas and starting a family.

Why did you want to remake Halloween?

Well, I never really had plans to remake it. It was an opportunity that came my way. To me, Halloween was always really great and sometimes remakes aren’t so great. So I felt the core of the movie was the central characters. My goal wasn’t to replace it. People can love them both.

What did John Carpenter think of it?
I haven’t talked to him since then. I was out and on tour when it came out.

What was like working with the Weinsteins on it?

It was great. It was a great experience. You really get a one-on-one relationship with them. We have a great relationship. In some of my other experiences you don’t get that kind of support and it’s sort of a drag.

What kind of movie do you want to make next?
I’m not sure, but it’ll be something dark.

Do you have plans to have kids anytime soon with your wife, Sheri Moon?

No. I do what I love already and I have my next two years planned out. It doesn’t interest me at all.

What are your plans for the holidays?
I’ll be on tour. I play Madison Square Garden the day before Christmas.

Halloween is Over

November 1st, 2007

I have a few thoughts on last night. Well, I have a few thought on most things almost all the time, but Halloween-specific:

-One great collaborative event is often better than lots of options: When an event is great one year the next year everyone wants to get in on the action and to do their own events. The problem this causes is whereas the one event was fantastic the previous year because it was likely the only option (like Heidi Klum’s annual Halloween party a few years ago), when the pie is split so many ways it’s harder for one thing to be really amazing. That was kind of the case last night when things were just spread too thin. Roberto Cavalli is amazing but I ducked out his dinner at Cipriani last minute because it was too far midtown and I had too many places to go and people to see to sit through a two-hour ‘nice’ dinner where I’d have to schmoose and socialize - while dressed like a love bug. Instead I opted to pre-party at dinner with a group of girlfriends at One where we drank lychee martinis caffeinated with p.i.n.k. vodka and did an impromptu photo shoot before heading to the “Imperia Erotica Halloween Ball” at Scores West— thrown by the owners of Butter & The Inn. The space was ok but it was packed and I left before Jay Z or Diddy even arrived.

Follow your instincts: As most of our party headed from Scores to Marquee I called it a night on the clubs and went to The Box. When the night began The Box was the only place I wanted to go. The Box is only blocks from my house, not a club, usually has a more exclusive downtown crowd – and I’d heard Joaquin Phoenix would be there. By the time I did make get there it was nearly 2am, there was a crowd and cops outside, they were at capacity inside and nobody was getting in. I learned later that Joaquin was indeed inside as well as Josh Hartnett, Lance Armstrong, Mary Kate Olsen (the sister not dating Lance Armstrong), Sting and Trudie Styler.

Less is Sometimes More: Putting on more make-up just because it’s Halloween doesn’t necessarily make one look prettier, just sometimes more like a bit of a drag queen. I think I overdid the shadow and should have concentrated more on decreasing the shine. Or maybe the shine was the reflection of the loads of glitter I brushed on – and still keep seeing flecks of today.

Britney’s Halloween: One Big Party!

November 1st, 2007

After her odd call-in interview to Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Wednesday morning, it was time for Britney Spears to kick off her Halloween festivities that literally went all night long. The 25-year-old mother of two spent the day with her boys, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, but once they were back in daddy Kevin Federline’s arms, the real party started for the Britster. And OK! is here to give you a blow-by-blow of her Hallow’s Eve itinerary.

10:00 a.m.: Sean Preston and Jayden James arrive for a day of fun and monitored observance with their mommy at Summit. Per court order, Britney is allowed now three monitored visits per week with her sons.

2:00 p.m.: Along with the court-assigned observer, Brit and the boys take a joy ride into Beverly Hills, but don’t stop anywhere and come home. Along the way, the newly licensed driver makes at least two illegal U-turns!

5:50 p.m.: Brit drives the boys and the monitor over to the Maloof brothers’ house for a party and returns home an hour later.

8:35 p.m.: K-Fed’s team pick up the boys, who are supposed to be brought back to daddy by 7 p.m. Perhaps an exception was made for Halloween?

12:05 a.m.: The night is young! Decked out in a belly-baring hot pink and black leopard pattern catsuit, complete with a long tail and ears and an oversized pink sombrero, Britney kicks off the night at The Green Door Club in Hollywood. She arrives in a black Escalade limo with Alli Sims and Sam Lutfi. While Britney appeared heavily sedated, her posse was in full-out party mode with Alli dressed in a school girl outfit with a personalized X-17 name tag. Is this a shout-out to “Baby One More Time”?

The pop star spends approximately 40 minutes inside the club, where she was seated in a circular velvet booth in the center and then moved to the back for more privacy. While Alli broke it down on the dance floor, Brit uncharacteristically chose not to show off any dance moves, opting to puff away on Marlboro Lights. She wasn’t up for socializing either — fans were prohibited from approaching her and at one point, she tells a bouncer she’s uncomfortable with everyone’s stares.

12:48 a.m.: Brit finally has enough and departs the Green Door, where major insanity ensues.

2:00 a.m.: Because of roadblocks, it takes more than an hour for Britney to arrive at her next destination — a house party in the Hollywood Hills, where she remained the rest of the evening. Who calls it a night this early?
