Heather Mills’ Publicist Quits

July 24th, 2008

If Heather Mills is looking for some positive PR, she’s going about it all wrong.

On Thursday, Mills’ publicist quit after four years, calling the former Mrs. Paul McCartney "an impossible person."

In a statement to Extra, Michele Elyzabeth says,

"After working for Heather Mills for four years, I have decided to cease representing her. Since her divorce has become final, in my opinion, Heather has become an impossible person.

"Yesterday, we engaged in a heated argument during which she called me "stupid." I reminded her that she was not "God" and she answered, ‘I will never ever talk to you again.’ I have been very patient in my dealings with Heather, however, I cannot take any more. I have given her substantial unpaid time and attention. I am owed money. I refuse to be subjected to her outbursts.

"On reflection and given the way I have been treated, I now have sympathy with much of what the British press have reported about her."

Ouch!

Heather,40, has one daughter, Beatrice, from her 4-year marriage to McCartney. Besides her involvement in campaigns such as animal rights and the banning of landmines, she appeared in 2007 on season four of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

Assault Charge Reversed in Heather Mills Case

May 20th, 2008

It was a reversal of fortune for Jay Kaycappa, who was convicted of assaulting Heather Mills two years ago.

The photographer received an appeal Tuesday afternoon because the former Mrs. Paul McCartney failed to appear at a court hearing.

The excuse given for Heather’s absence was that she was “unavailable” because she was somewhere stateside, but Judge Richard Brown said he had received a doctor’s note saying the 40-year-old charity campaigner was suffering from stress.

Kaycappa was originally sentenced to 140 hours of community service for allegedly assaulting Heather and her friend Mark Payne in a pedestrian tunnel in 2006.

Just last week, another one of Heather’s legal woes came to an end — a High Court judge granted a preliminary divorce for Heather and Paul.

Heather Mills & Paul McCartney Granted Divorce

May 12th, 2008

Heather Mills and Sir Paul McCartney are nearly officially kaput.

A justice granted a preliminary decree of divorce to the exes during a Monday hearing at London’s High Court, Reuters reports.

"On the petition for divorce presented by Miss Heather Mills, I pronounce the decree nisi of divorce on the grounds of two years’ separation," Justice Hugh Bennett announced. "Sir Paul McCartney has consented to the decree being granted on these grounds."

The divorce could be finalized in six weeks plus a day, he added.

Per a March ruling, 40-year-old Heather was awarded $48.6 million in the bitter settlement, which breaks down to approximately $33 million in cash and $15.6 million in assets. The former Beatle will also pay for their 4-year-old daughter Beatrice’s education and nanny fees, on top of making periodic payments of $70,000 to her.

Neither Heather or Paul, 65, were present for the 30-second hearing today.

The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 2002 and split four years later.

Paul McCartney’s ex-wife Heather Mills isn’t making any friends on this side of the pond. The famously unpopular former wife of Sir Paul judged the 2007 Miss USA Pageant over the weekend and was booed by the audience — and not well-loved by the show’s producers either. Insiders say that Mills refused to sign a contract saying the show could be rebroadcast unless she would be financially compensated. According to an insider who spoke with Page Six, the contractors who booked Mills say they’ll never work with her again. Meanwhile, Mills is planning to move to the States because she thinks she’ll fare better here than in Ye Olde England.

Robert Downey Jr.’s new superhero flick isn’t about any ordinary tights-wearing guy with incredible supernatural powers. He stars in Iron Man, about a guy who manufactures his own superhero get-up. “Superheroes are great, but superheroes who manufacture weapons, then build a suit of armor that they wear and fly around in makes for the ultimate nerd-gasm."

Curb Your Enthusiasm will definitely be back for another season, says show co-star Susie Essman. At Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars autism fundraiser this weekend, the show auctioned off a walk-on part for an audience member. Essman remarked that “I can’t tell you how incredible it felt to be able to yell and scream at Larry [David] again and tell him to go [bleep] himself one more time."

Heather Mills Explains Water-Tossing Incident

April 11th, 2008

The courtroom battle between Paul McCartney and ex-wife Heather Mills, certainly one of the ugliest splits in the history of celebrity couples, ended in March with a nearly $50 million settlement for the model-turned-activist — oh, and a pitcher of water being tossed on the head of Paul’s lawyer Fiona Shackleton.

Now, several weeks later, in an interview on GM.TV, Heather continued her war of words with her tongue-in-cheek explanation of why she felt compelled to douse Ms. Shackleton in the middle of the London courtroom.

"Mrs. Shackleton said something under her breath so I cleansed and baptized her," the former Dancing With the Stars contestant explained. "I thought she looked fantastic… it did her the world of good… I have no regrets."

As for the divide among the public’s attitude toward her, Heather said, "People love me or hate me."

Jessica Simpson shaves — her face? The older-but-probably-not-wiser Simpson will appear on the cover of Esquire magazine next week recreating a March 1965 cover image featuring Marilyn Monroe lookalike, actress Virna Lisi, covered in shaving cream. The original cover was a spoof on women’s liberation, reports Gatecrasher.

Beatles or Rolling Stones? It turns out Paul McCartney’s four-year-old daughter with Heather Mills, Beatrice, is way into the Stones over daddy’s old band. The precocious tot was spotted picking out clothes with her nanny in New York over the weekend and selected a dress, a striped tank and a Rolling Stones tee shirt, reports Page Six.

Jerry Seinfeld should stay off the road. The “nothing” comedian got into trouble last week when his Fiat flipped in the Hamptons, and just days later his Porsche broke down in Greenwich Village. Comic pal Colin Quinn joked on the Opie & Anthony radio show that he was tired of giving Seinfeld “the old jump-start.” Must be rough.

Heather Mills Judging Miss USA

A day after standing before a judge to reach her divorce settlement, Heather Mills has announced she will become one herself — sort of.

The ex-Mrs. Paul McCartney will serve as a judge for the upcoming Miss USA Pageant, Extra confirms.

Hosting the April 11 shindig will be brother-sister duo extraordinaire, Donny and Marie Osmond. Coincidentally, Heather and Marie have both been contestants on Dancing With the Stars, with 40-year-old Heather finishing seventh in the fourth season and Marie placing third last season.

On Monday afternoon, a High Court judge awarded charity campaigner Heather $48.6 million in she and Paul’s prolonged divorce settlement. It was a number that Heather was none too pleased about as she reportedly tossed a water bottle at Paul’s lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, upon hearing the figure.

The Miss USA Pageant will air April 11 on NBC, live from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Heather Mills’ Water War

March 18th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Hide your water bottles from Heather Mills. The former wife of Sir Paul McCartney is apparently fond of throwing liquids at her enemies, and yesterday in a fit she threw a tumbler of water on McCartney’s lawyer Fiona Shackleton.

The glass was allegedly tossed because Mills was upset that she had been awarded only one-fifth of the amount she had requested in the divorce settlement. Mills had initially asked for $250 million, but received only $50 million in the settlement. Additionally, Mills said Shackleton “handled this case in the worst manner you could imagine.”

Reports of the water incident contradict Mills’ post-courtroom statement. On the steps of the Royal Courts of Justice, the former model and animal rights activist said she was “very very happy with the decision.”

Mills is not happy, however, with McCartney’s wish to make the details of their divorce public, and returned to court today to block publication of the judgment.

Heather Mills Awarded $48.6 Mil in Divorce Settlement

March 17th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Heather Mills has been awarded $48.6 million in her divorce settlement from Paul McCartney, London’s High Court announced Monday.

After a lengthy and often contentious battle, a High Court judge ruled that the 40-year-old charity worker will receive $33 million in cash with $15.6 million in assets on top of that from her ex-husband.

"I am very, very, very happy," Heather said outside the steps of the courthouse. "I was always going to get between $40 and $60 million, but Sir Paul was offering much less than that."

According to papers, Heather asked for $250 million, but the former Beatle only wanted to offer up $31.6 million.

"The judge said Paul was only worth GBP400 million ($800 million), but everyone has known he has been worth GBP800 ($1.6 billion) for the last 15 years," she continued. "I wasn’t allowed any access into any of our accounts, I was locked out of every home. I hope now that me and my daughter can have a life and not be followed every single day. Apart from one TV thing, I have kept silent for 21 months. I wanted to keep it private but he wanted it made public. He always wants to look like he’s generous Sir Paul."

The couple married in 2002 and split four years later. The union produced daughter Beatrice, for whom Paul will make periodic payments of $70,000, in addition to nanny and school fees.
