Britney’s Special Gift for Her Mom

October 12th, 2007

Looks like Britney Spears and her mom are finally beginning to mend fences. First there was Brit’s late-night pop in to mom Lynne Spears‘ Marina del Rey condo where she sobbed as the pair embraced. And now, the beleaguered singer is buying her mom gifts.

During Britney’s post-court shopping spree yesterday at Neiman Marcus, the Toxic songstress sampled three different perfumes before finally opting for a bottle of Tom Ford Black Orchid. “It’s for my mom,” Britney told a Neiman Marcus employee as she continued to shop, trying on clothes in a private dressing room.

Tensions between Brit and Lynne began in early 2007 when the troubled star was convinced to enter rehab by her mom and Brit’s then-manager Larry Rudolph. Even as recently as August, it looked like there was no hope for healing the break between mother and daughter as Lynne joined Brit’s ex-hubby Kevin Federline at his home to celebrate the birthdays of Brit’s two infant sons while the pop star was busy ruining her career on the stage of the Video Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Right after her court appearance, CelebTV.com was able to get a few words out of Britney for their camera. The singer smiled as she said that her court appearance “was good” and that she has her boys Sean Preston, 2, and 1-year-old Jayden James, back.

Britney’s Tearful Meet-Up With Mom

October 11th, 2007

According to an eyewitness, in the early hours of Thursday morning Britney Spears paid an unexpected visit to the Marina del Rey apartment of her estranged mother, Lynne.

“Brit met her mom in the lobby,” the witness reveals to OK!. “She burst out crying as she reached out to hug her mother.”

Just last weekend, Lynne and Britney’s little sister, Jamie Lynn, staged an impromptu marathon intervention at the pop superstar’s Malibu home. After more than 12 hours behind closed doors, and shortly after ex-husband Kevin Federline arrived, talks broke down and Britney fled for her other home in Beverly Hills.

K-Fed’s Attorney Lashes Out at Britney

October 11th, 2007

In response to Britney Spears filing a motion in Los Angeles Family Court yesterday asking for the court to allow her to have overnight visitations with her two infant sons, lawyers for Brit’s ex-husband, Kevin Federline, have come out on the offensive, slamming the pop star for what they see as an abuse of the legal system.

The statement released by K-Fed’s legal eagle Mark Vincent Kaplan reads: “The fact that a party, one week after a full court hearing, attempts to change the orders of the court, in the absence of an emergency or without any new facts, suggests a continued lack of respect and understanding for what an order of the court actually means.”

Kaplan also stated that K-Fed will not be in the hearing that will occur later today.

Britney: “I Feel Shaky”

October 11th, 2007

On Wednesday, lawyers for Britney Spears, who last week lost temporary custody of her two sons to their father, wannabe rapper Kevin Federline, will ask Family Court Commissioner Scott Gordon to increase the amount of time she can visit with the boys to include overnight stays.

But when OK! caught up with Brit on Thursday at the Cabo Cantina on Wilshire Blvd. in L.A., she appeared to be conflicted. While she said to OK! that she is looking forward to getting the chance to spend time with Sean Preston, 2, and 1-year-old Jayden James, she also confessed, “I’m shaky. I feel shaky.”

Following lunch with her new assistant, the pair drove across town to shop for the boys at a Target store, where Brit cryptically told OK! “It really has been quite a day.”

Perhaps Britney was talking about the news that the release date for her new album, Blackout, has been pushed up two weeks to Oct. 30 to fight internet leaks of various tracks from the CD.

Stay tuned on Thursday as OK! reports on developments in Brit’s ongoing custody battle.

Britney To Be Booked In Hit & Run Case

October 10th, 2007

Adding insult to injury, beleaguered pop star Britney Spears must be booked for an alleged hit and run that took place on Aug. 6. 2007,
an L.A. County judge ruled Tuesday. According to Frank Mateljan, a
spokesman for the city attorney’s office, “she must report to any LAPD
station” before her next court appearance on Oct. 25 where “she will be
photographed, fingerprinted and released” — a process he estimates
takes around 20 minutes. “It’s a procedural thing,” Mateljian tells OK!
.
Britney’s attorney, Michael Flanagan, says Britney will comply with the
court’s decision. If convicted for the crime caught on film by
paparazzi, the singer could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000
fine for each count.

Breaking News: Britney’s Family Stages Intervention

October 6th, 2007

OK
! has just learned that the reason Britney Spears‘ mother, Lynne, and her little sister, Jamie Lynn, flew into L.A. late last night from Kentwood, La., was to stage an intervention with the disgraced pop star. Making things even more interesting — Brit’s ex-hubby, Kevin Federline, has just arrived at her Malibu house to take part in the proceedings.

This all comes after yet another bizarre evening of hard partying and erratic behavior from Britney. Early Friday evening, Brit, producer JR Rotem and hanger-on Sam Lusty spent hours driving around Los Angeles and Beverly Hills being followed by a caravan of paparazzi, until utlimately ending up at the posh Peninsula Hotel, where Brit had holed herself up for a few days earlier this week, following the decision by Court Commissioner Scott Gordon to give full temporary custody of her two young boys to K-Fed.

Around 2 a.m. PST, the three louseketeers exited the Peninsula and drove, screaming at each other the whole way, to Britney’s gated community, The Summit, on Mulholland Drive, at which point Brit inexplicably gave her two traveling companions the boot at the gatehouse.

But the night was nowhere near being finished. A few minutes later, Brit comes roaring down the hill to The Summit’s entrance, where she begins to rant incoherently that her home had been broken into. Her driving was so erratic that she pulled up on a curb, damaging her tire so badly that it required repair — which a friendly photog was more than willing to do for Brit.

Eventually, officers of the law arrived and went up to the house with Brit, JR and Sam, before returning approximately 45 minutes later. No word on whether her house was truly broken into, though all signs point to “no.”

So, in the early morning hours, Brit and her pals packed back into her newly re-tired car and headed up the coast to her Malibu home — where her mom and little sis had just arrived.

It is not yet known whether Kevin brought the babies with him.

More details to come!
