February 4th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Fans of Jackass might be a little surprised to see the new career path stunt-loving Steve-O is heading down: the daredevil dude who used to staple his body parts together is now busy touching up his two-step as he prepares to take part in the next season of Dancing With the Stars, OK! has learned.

After a four-month stay in a California mental institution for drug abuse last year, the wild man will make his comeback on season 8 of the show, premiering March 9.

“Steve-O is taking his dancing very seriously,” a source tells OK!. “He’s committed to leading a healthy, wholesome life, and that includes mastering the classic moves of  dance!”

Johnny Knoxville Defends Airport Grenade Incident

January 16th, 2009

A day after Johnny Knoxville was stopped at LAX for having a fake grenade in his carry-on bag, the Jackass star is speaking out about the incident.

Knoxville took to his blog on the official Jackass website, where he wrote:

"A few days ago, I was filming some commericals for this show we are doing for MTV called Nitro Circus, so I took a bunch of silly props in my carry-on bag to the shoot. Well, when the shoot was over, the wardrobe girl packed my luggage so I could go home and unbeknownst to me, she packed a FAKE hand grenade (a prop grenade that I’d taken to the shoot) in the front zipper of my luggage. Needless to say, when I was packing to go out of town this morning with my girlfriend and daughter, I didn’t see the FAKE grenade in my luggage."

Knoxville continues, "The cops did their job and verified that it wasn’t real. Also, they were cool as they could be to me, considering the situation, and it is no ones fault but my own. I should have checked my god***n luggage through and through, but I didn’t and now we have this incident. From what I hear, all the tabloids are saying it was a real grenade, but that’s bulls**t. They just said that to make a story out of it, because if it was real I never would have been allowed to board my flight to Miami an hour later. Anyway, it was a mistake, and I just landed at the Miami airport. Damn.

Johnny Knoxville Caught with Grenade at Airport

January 15th, 2009

What a Jackass! Johnny Knoxville was detained earlier today at LAX after security found a fake grenade in his carry-on bag.

TMZ is reporting that the Jackass star was in terminal 4 (American Airlines) when security screeners saw something suspicious.

Knoxville was detained, cited and released. Although the grenade was fake, the prankster was cited for carrying a "prohibited item" into an airport–replicas of weapons are not allowed.

Steve-O Returns to the “Looney Bin”

July 8th, 2008

Steve-O is "back in the looney bin," he reveals on his MySpace blog.

Although he has been sober for 115, the Jackass star has returned to "a mental institution" to deal with the effects the numerous drugs he has taken over the years have had on him.

"I’ve now been clean for 115 days, and I’m, again, in a mental institution," he writes. "I did so much cocaine, ketamine, pcp, nitrous oxide, and all sorts of other drugs, that, quite simply, my brain is f***** up."

He continues, "As you can probably tell by the way I’m writing this, my cognitive skills are alright, but, I frequently suffer from horrible mood swings and severe depression."

Hardly any of the medication he’s been prescribed has helped him, the 33-year-old adds, expressing his frustration at the stall in his progress. Because of this, he has chosen to re-enter an undisclosed facility.

"The medication that is prescribed to me doesn’t do the trick every day, let’s just put it that way. I’m back in the looney bin trying to get that s*** right," he says. "The bottom line is that doing drugs f***** my ass up and I’m going to be paying for it for a long time, probably for the rest of my life. Everyone’s going to make their own decisions in life, but nobody needs to make the same mistakes I made."

Steve-O first entered the "looney bin" in March after being placed under a 5150 hold following an alleged suicide attempt.

"After four days in a psychiatric ward…it has dawned on me that a great deal of what I produced, while on narcotics-induced "highs," was a bunch of manic bull**** that made little-to-no sense and, furthermore, was devastating to those who love me the most," he said at the time.

Last month, he pleaded guilty to cocaine possession and was sentenced to a rehab program.

Jackass’ Steve-O in “Looney Bin”

March 14th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Jackass star Steve-O is currently hospitalized and placed under a "5150 hold" for a observation following an alleged suicide attempt, he wrote to his friends in an e-mail obtained by OK!.

"They call it ‘code 5150,’ that means ‘psycho,’ legally, f***in’ bat-s***, certifiably. I’m outta my mind, believe-you-me. How’d I get this way? How can this be? It’s gotten so bad there’s nothing left of me," he writes in the opening lines.

The 33-year-old stuntman was admitted to Thalians Mental Health Center on Sunday — the same place Owen Wilson stayed after his suicide attempt — before being moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for further evaluation.

An infamous drug abuser, Steve-O reveals he was placed on "51510 status," the same medical hold Britney Spears was placed on for being a danger to herself and others, and spent four days in the psychiatric ward, where he had a moment of clarity.

"After four days in a psychiatric ward…it has dawned on me that a great deal of what I produced, while on narcotics-induced "highs," was a bunch of manic bull**** that made little-to-no sense and, furthermore, was devastating to those who love me the most," he says.

Currently on a 5250 hold, meaning he is in lockdown for 14 days, Steve-O concedes he is not leaving the ward anytime soon and will use his time in there as a learning experience.

The full letter is below:

Those words were written during a "low." Before the day when Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, Big Regg, Swizz, Rick Kosick, Dimitry Elyaschevich, Cordell Mansfield, and Trip Taylor came to my home and, physcially, forced me into the hospital (where I was placed on a 5150 "hold’), I had thought of "bipolar" as a "good" thing. I rationally deduced that, with our time in this life being so limited, it was productive to stick to nothing but extremely high "highs," and extremely low "lows." ANYTHING but to "crash on the rocks of mediocrity." I figured that, since I am an extraordinarily "tough" individual, I could handle it, and my legacy would be comprised of only that which could be described as "intense."

After four days in a psychiatric ward (a.k.a. "looney bin," a.k.a. "cuckoo’s nest") it has dawned on me that a great deal of what I produced, while on narcotics-induced "highs," was a bunch of manic bull**** that made little-to-no sense and, furthermore, was devastating to those who love me the most. At this point, I am no longer "5150-status" (which was the three-day "hold" on me, resulting from suicidal behavior).

I am now "5250-status" (which means that the "hold" has been extended to 14 days, for the exact same reasons). I’m not getting out of this "insane asylum" any time in the immediate future, so, I’m going to learn as much from the experience as possible. So far, I’ve figured out that I did a great deal of damage to my brain by abusing drugs and, now that they’ve all worn off, I’m facing the consequences. I suppose it is an ironic "eye for an eye" situation that I am in, coping with the lowest "lows" that I’ve ever experienced-as a form of punishment for the emotional distress that I have put my loved ones through with the self-destructive behavior that led me here.

I already know that I will be handing these pages over to my beautiful assistant, Jen Moore, during our next visitation, and instructing her to share them with as many people as possible on the Internet (rather than try to sell a "juicy" story to the tabloid press for profit). I hope that I haven’t disappointed too many of my fans. Actually, ya know what? Anyone that is disappointed by any of these words really doesn’t matter to me. I’ve harmed myself to no end for those people (at the expense of my loved ones), and look where it got me.

Now, what do I have to add? The research I did into the immortality of the soul, the end of life in our current bodies, and the 4th dimension, was, by no means a bunch of bullshit. I could stand before you all and say very similar words to the ones I say in the following clip, it’s just that I happened to be under the influence of a very dangerous amount of drugs when it was filmed (video below).

Remember, everyone, "Be real careful, don’t misbehave…That’s all you gotta know to be saved…" -me

I Love You All,

Steve-O

P.S. I’m really in the looney bin, but I think it was TJ that read my mind. Is that right, are you TJ? Maybe I’m wrong…

Steve-O Reveals His Wedding Details to OK!

February 21st, 2008

This weekend the Jackass crew will be taking over the MTV airwaves for 24 hours. They follow in the great tradition of the Foo Fighters and Courtney Love. But, with a lot more naked guys and pranks.

OK! spoke to Steve-O about getting the Jackass dudes together and performing their crazy antics all over again. "It’s good to have the boys back together again. I’m ready to get hurt. Nothing is sacred anymore! The boys are back!"

Meanwhile, the conversation turned to his impending marriage to his long time girlfriend, Brittany. He said, "One night I got on my knees and asked her to marry me in front of her grandma." He continued, "I refer her as my wife. I don’t believe in contracts for love. I’m not planning on having a wedding, but a marriage party with my gangsta rap friends. She’s been thorugh everything and I’ve decided to commit and get married."

In case you forgot, Steve-O recently announced he began work on his rap album: "Initially like anything else, I figured it would be completely impossible to succeed. Then I figured since I have big superstar producers, why not. Now it looks like I’m going to get really rich."

With all the pranks he’s pulled over the years, he doesn’t consider himself the craziest of the Jackass bunch. "Hands down Johnny Knoxville is the craziest. Except for my lack of sense of unaccountability, I actually pick my battles. Knoxville is crazy, but then again there’s all kinds of crazy."

To see what they have up their sleeves, check out "Jackassworld: 24 Hour Takeover" Beginning Noon ET, Saturday February 23rd - Noon ET, Sunday February 24th and also check out the new site: http://www.jackassworld.com.

Steve-O Challenges K-Fed

February 18th, 2008

Watch your back, K-Fed! Steve-O, the outrageous, tattooed star of the Jackass movies has his targets set on a new career — rapping! And Steve-O’s first order of business is declaring war on Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline!

“I’m officially challenging K-Fed to a rap battle," Steve-O tells OK! about the diss track calling out Brit’s baby-daddy on his upcoming album, Hard as a Rock. "It’ll be just like that scene from 8 Mile!”

“I know that K-Fed has his ‘acting’ career and all, but if he’s a real man, he’ll step up and battle me!”

Some of you with keen memories may recall a very brief time in 2006 when K-Fed attempted to launch a career as a hip-hop star with his solo debut, Playing With Fire, which was released one week before Brit filed for a divorce from Kevin and which yielded such hit songs as… well, no hits actually.

Let’s just hope Steve-O’s album fares slightly better.
