Angie & the Twins: First Days at Home

July 23rd, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

In the wee hours of the morning on July 19, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s adorable twins, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, quietly exited Fondation Lenval Hospital in Nice, France, and were welcomed home by their four siblings at Château Miraval in Brignol.

"Everyone is so excited about the twins," an insider tells OK!.

Indeed, the littlest Jolie-Pitts, who were delivered on July 12, were greeted at the $60-million castle by gifts sent from all over the world — plus a few items that Brad, 44, and Angelina, 33, picked out on their own!

"They bought quite a lot of baby clothes," Audrey Arbibe, owner of children’s boutique Bonpoint, tells OK! exclusively of the couple’s impromptu May 19 spree in Cannes, France. "Mostly beiges and whites. Angelina has very elegant, yet natural, taste — nothing frilly."

Frills, or no frills aside, six children is a lot to handle — especially when you add newborn twins into the mix! Angelina’s brother, James Haven, and Brad’s parents, Bill and Jane Pitt — who looked on as their grandchildren played soccer on the grounds of the palatial 1,000-acre estate over the weekend — flew to France for the birth of the newest Jolie-Pitt members, and, according to an insider, "They’re sticking around to help everyone get settled into the new routine."

Still, it’s not like motherhood is a role that Angelina hasn’t already mastered. Jason Butler Harner, her co-star in the upcoming thriller The Changeling, observed the actress with Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh during filming, and tells OK!, "She’s calm and has a sense of humor. You would think it takes a village, but it’s just her."

Cover Story: Brad & Angelina Adopting a Boy!

June 18th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Even though Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are about to welcome their twin girls into the world at any moment now, OK! has learned that’s not stopping them from making plans to add yet another child to their "soccer team" of a family — a baby boy from Ethiopia.

"Angie and Brad have wanted an African boy for the last couple of years," an insider tells OK!. "They were initially going to have that adoption follow the addition of Pax last year, but that all changed when Angie got pregnant with twins last fall."

Angelina even managed to rub some of her humanitarian spirit off on Brad’s sister, Julie Neal Pitt. When Julie was looking to adopt, the actress directed her to the same African orphanage where she’d found Zahara in 2005. And, according to sources, the two had planned to adopt together at the same time.

"Angelina was pretty far along in the process of adopting a beautiful baby that captured the couple’s heart when she and Brad got the surprise of their life and found out they were expecting," the insider reveals.

Angelina’s Brother Heads to Washington

April 8th, 2008

Angelina Jolie isn’t the only humanitarian in her family!

Not to be outdone, her brother James Haven is set to appear before the Senate on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to lobby about the fight against AIDS and malaria, The Washington Post reports.

The 34-year-old will meet with senators Dick Lugar and Barbara Boxer, among others, to discuss the various efforts being employed in this battle.

While his sister has had her share of acclaim for her globe-trotting good deeds, James has received less fanfare for his big heart. The actor is on the advisory board of Global Action for Children, which will shepherd him around the Hill, and serves as a youth pastor at the Saddlebrook Church, an evangelical church in southern California run by Purpose-Driven Life author Rick Warren.

And how about Goodwill Ambassador Angelina herself? The 32-year-old honorary chair of Global Action is also in Washington, D.C., this week, where she attended the Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards gala Monday evening and is scheduled to meet with the Council on Foreign Relations on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, her sons, Maddox, 6, and Pax, 4, who joined mom for the trip, are passing time flying high at the Air and Space Museum. The brothers spent Monday afternoon at the aeronautic center, where they continually inquired tour guides about the Space Hall, Skylab and the WWI and WWII exhibits.

Angelina Wants to Have More Kids!

November 6th, 2007

At the L.A. premiere of her new film Beowulf, TV’s Extra spoke to Angelina Jolie, who candidly revealed she’s ready to add more kids to the Jolie-Pitt family.

“I’m not even halfway there…” Angie said about the projected size of the family she’s raising with Brad Pitt. “I’m working on it.”

Angelina also revealed she’ll have more kids both by adoption and biologically: “We’ve got time, we’ll do both.”

Also on hand for the event was Angelina’s brother, James Haven, who was thrilled to talk about his nieces and nephews. “It’s absolutely remarkable! Just to see how much they teach me. Maddox is amazing with video games already and he’s teaching me how to play them… Shiloh is now walking… Pax said my name for the first time… and at that time I still thought he didn’t know any English.”

And what will the family be doing for Thanksgiving? Well, don’t look to Angelina to do the cooking. She said, “Probably neither of us… we’ll see if the kids learn how to cook the turkey this year… we’ll do a fun art project.”

Exclusive: Angelina’s Brother Talks to OK!

October 1st, 2007

While Angelina Jolie made headlines last week when she was photographed onstage in the Big Apple with former President Bill Clinton at his Clinton Global Initiative event, the man behind the Oscar-winning actress’ charitable efforts — older brother James Haven — was there, behind the scenes and working just as hard.

“James is very inspirational,” a friend confides to OK!. “You can see where his sister gets her passion for helping others."

But James, who, like Angelina, is the son of actor Jon Voight and the late Marcheline Bertrand, doesn’t see himself as any sort of hero. "What I’m doing shouldn’t be regarded as extraordinary,” he explains to OK!. “My wish is that one day everyone strives to take a part in helping each other and the world, so it becomes an ordinary thing."

Also an actor, with appearances in Monster’s Ball and CSI among his credits, James sits on the board of the Artivist Film Festival, which is dedicated to addressing human rights, children’s advocacy, environmental preservation and animal rights. Its stated mission is to “strengthen the voice of activist artists while raising public awareness for social global causes." The non-profit is staging it’s third film festival in Hollywood from Nov. 8 - 11 at Hollywood’s historic Egyptian Theatre.

In addition to his work alongside his A-list sister, the 34-year-old is also working closely with another charity-minded superstar, U2’s Bono, to help combat the spread of pediatric AIDS.

Already the closest of friends, the familial bond between James and his 32-year-old kid sister has continued to strengthen, even following the heartbreaking death of their mother, who succumbed to her battle with cancer in January. And friends reveal to OK!, James is very much a doting uncle to the four children Angelina shares with partner Brad Pitt.

“James adores those kids,” says the friend about Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. “He spends as much time with them as he possibly can."
